TheJoe: I had a thought about gifting - shouldn't it be that we put a GOGger's username in the box rather than an email address?

You can see the user's email on his account page, not much harder than sending it directly to his/her account. But I guess this will be a small, but helpful feature. :)
It may just be that over the years I've been spoilt by SMF or php-bb, but I find the GOG forums a bit restricting.
On the other hand, I *am* aware, that the above solutions have commercial restrictions on them, and GOG needs a forum system that makes it easy to keep things in hand since they deal with customers not mere forum members.
Still, a bit more structured layout could do the trick and make me feel at home immediately.
-Important posts regarding FAQ or troubleshooting tips should be compiled and stickied in their relevant game forums.
-Topics that generate great community interest or contain information relevant to GOG or the GOG community should be likewise highlighted.
Just a thought: add some webspace for uploading user-made content, be it a new map, modification or such thing, with a brief description, maybe with user comments/rating (to keep them in one place). Of course someone should monitor those files and in case of inappropriate content (porn, virus,...) intervene against user who has uploaded it.
I would consider "joining up" with Raptr someway. If you don't know, Raptr is a new gaming community that works kinda like Steam and xFire. You create an account, and you can put information about your Steam, xFire, Xbox Live, PSN, Wii Code, WoW, Spore, WaR and Guitar Hero accounts, and the system automatically adds games and achievements from these accounts (not all of 'em, but still).

I would also love if the GoG crew would add some achievements to some of the games. It makes it more attractive to replay a game for these achievements.
Most of all, I would want my games to integrate with Steamworks somehow, so I can show 'em online through Steam. Not gonna happen, but this is a wishlist still ;).

Have you tried the "Add Non-Steam games" option in Steam yet?

Yeah, not what I was meaning
I wanted achievements to go through Steam. I know this is not happening but hey
+1 for the "multiplayer" information on the game infos, as well as the multiplayer modes available (co-op, vs, and maximu number of players).
Could be nice when looking to buy a multiplayer game, and especially co-op multiplayer games (as Duke) which are sometimes a real pain to find.
achievements. on the site, not in the games. could even motivate people to buy more if there were some for owning complete series, etc ;)
links to download the demo (if available) would be REAL nice
I wish for one of the following:
Removal of Adobe Reader from the GOG installers
Adobe Reader not selected by default in the GOG installers
Adobe Reader replaced by Sumatra PDF in the GOG installers

I don't see how the fact of spending money could be an achievement, sorry...

well, i didnt mean it that blatantly. like, have an achievement called 'fallout fanboy' if you own all of the fallout games. part of the attraction of this site, at least for me, is that it has let me build a little collection of games, and it would be kind of fun to be able to show that off. it feels sort of like my old baseball cards.
i guess it might be kind of hard to make badges that didn't have to do with buying/owning the games though, because that's pretty much what the site is for. maybe like a badge for someone who likes strategy games, etc.
just a thought
Add an "Add to Cart" button next to each game when viewing http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue/
It would have a similar placement to the "Remove from Cart" button when browsing the shopping cart, but would be green maybe.
Also make it so it doesn't immediately direct you to the cart but allows you to keep browsing the list.
Mechwarrior II & Mercenaries
I feel the need to smash things and make them go boom - with my giant robot.

Netherwolf: Mechwarrior II & Mercenaries

This thread is for features, not games; game requests go on the wishlist.
I think it would be useful if I could keep a semi-permanent shopping list in my account, and have an easy way to buy games off of the list. When I am ready to buy a game, I could select one off my shopping list. This would be a convenient way of tracking all the good games that I want to get around to.
