A musical action-adventure set in the recesses of the human mind? That’s Figment! And until March 9th, 5 PM UTC, you can add this awesome game to your library for free!

Figment is an excellent action-adventure puzzle game presenting a strange and surreal world; a place filled with our deepest thoughts, urges and memories, populated by the many voices we hear in our heads. While this place has been quiet and calm for some time now, new thoughts have started to emerge – taking the shape of nightmarish creatures who spread fear wherever they go.

We have to join Dusty – the mind's former voice of courage – and his ever-optimistic friend, Piper, on an adventure through the different sides of the mind, solving puzzles to set things straight, beating back the nightmares and seeking to restore the courage that's been lost.

It is the perfect time to claim this story-rich, atmospheric gem and explore its beautiful, whimsical and hand-drawn world, as its sequel – Figment 2: Creed Valley will be soon available on GOG!

We will once again embark on an adventure with Dusty and Piper and make our way through puzzles, musical boss fights and unique environments. Nightmares have shattered the Moral Compass, making The Mind unable to function properly. Traveling to the titular Creed Valley, a place where The Mind’s ideals are formed, is our way to try to restore peace.

Claim Figment, wishlist Figment 2: Creed Valley and enjoy their unique and unforgettable tales!

Ganni1987: Dear Figment devs,

Thanks for the giveaway but no thanks, I will not take your game even for free. First of all you left GOG users in the dark with an outdated game for well over 2 years. Now that you're about to release your new game, you suddenly wake up and realize it's outdated on GOG.

Secondly, you didn't even release the soundtrack DLC which is present on Steam. Kinda ironic for a musical game. Yet again you treat GOG as 2nd class citizens.

Now with all the above said, I can't even dream of it (even as a nightmare) to give you my money knowing I may end with an outdated game for god knows how long (possibly until Figment 3?).

I will consider buying your games once you decide start being serious.

Regards
Imo this is a bit unfair:

Fact is that I contacted the devs two years ago already and got a reply immediately.
"As Figment is almost 4 years old (they grow up so fast) it does happen that updates get mixed up and/or lost along the way or get postponed due to the difficulty (read can't spare the time) of making a build for a certain platform. The latter is not the case for GOG and an update is doable. I'll take a look at the soundtrack issue and have submitted the support ticket for the build update."

Since back then I had already finished the game I expected them to update the game as they said. So I was surprised to hear this being not the case just yesterday. The rerason they have updated it know is mostly because people reminded them that GOG is still outdated and not because they "suddenly" woke up when they realized that they want to sell F2 here. I believe them when they say they made a mistake. Just take a look of other things they said yesterday:

"Hey Marko and thanks for pointing it out - I've passed this on to the team. I know it may not sound like much, but with all that we've had going on (just 3 days away from release of F2) we will look into it.
It's a common danger of having a small team and a game available on multiple platforms. That said, we're much more experienced now. We're all off work for the day, I will have an update for you tomorrow that's for sure. Thank you for playing the game first of all - let's see what we can do."

This reply was just seconds after I asked them again on discord. They could as well (as many devs would have) explained that right now they are far too busy with Figment 2 and its release but they will look into this issue the moment they find time ... but they did not.

They even apologized a few minutes later:
"It's all a delicate balance, sadly some things wrongly get put aside. I'll reply to you here when I know more about the Figment status on GOG tomorrow"

This simply does not sound like devs not worth supporting - it sounds to me like devs that made a mistake, apologized for it AND fixed it.

Regarding the missing soundtrack ... I asked about this in 2018 already - shortly after I had finished the game. Again I got a reply almost immediately which sounded promising:

"Hi Marko,
Getting the soundtrack on GOG is on our to-do list.
In the mean time you can listen to the soundtrack on Spotify or on YouTube, it can also be bought on Steam. And yes, the end credits song is the one titled "Song from Figment".
[url=[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNgeXxydBLk"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNgeXxydBLk"[/b[/url]]

And yes, they obviously forgot about this as well ... I am pretty sure they would fix this now as well ... maybe even on the same day as the Figment 2 release - but what's the point now if you have already given up on them - I mean, how can they show you that they are serious ... just flawed if you don't give them another chance? Imo people should get allowed to make mistakes and people should get forgiven if they make a mistake and are willing to correct it ... you decided to not forgive them and I thnk that's a bit sad. I might be completely wrong and the whole "we are nice devs" might just a charade to get us sold Figment 2 but I simply don't feel it. I had my fair share of conversations with devs I'd rather shoot to the moon than buying games of ever again ... not them though.

I know this probably won't change your opinion or decision but I still wanted to tell you this.

neumi5694: Thanks for the hint, I just grabbed the soundtrack for 0.79€

I had to fight my conscience (which was not amused about me giving money to Valve) and was successful.
The moment Figment went free on Steam, I went to the game's web page and discovered that there was a soundtrack and that it was on sale (0.79). I immediately searched for the soundtrack on GOG's website. I was dissapointed to discover that it did not exist. So, reluctantly I paid the 0.79 and got the soundtrack on Steam. That's a shame as I'd rather not pay Valve a sigle cent...

MarkoH01: "The most recent build is now up on GOG"
Strangely, I didn't see an update notification for it. I noticed that the Windows build is updated but Linux and Mac are not. Hopefully those builds are in progress and the update notification is waiting for everything to be complete.

Personally, I instanoped hard on Figment even though I like a lot of the ideas (it would be great if Rakuen was here). I tried to give it a bit of time but didn't last long. But free is free so I'd still say give it a try. Or for anyone who doesn't want to risk getting "sucked in" before knowing if Figment II will get updates here just wait to play it however long you think is reasonable and check gogdb and Steam to see how the updates compare.

The offline installer is not published yet, but it was uploaded.

Try to write the devs via Email or Discords about the other builds. They reacted very kindly.

MarkoH01: I remember that one time when tinybuild updated nearly all their games after they were just steps away from leaving GOG (or rather getting kicked out). Is it this bad again or are we just talking about one or two games?
I know for sure that Party Hard serie is missing updates, DLC and soundtracks on GOG.
Already 100% it on Steam 3(!) years ago but a FREE DRM-free copy is always appreciated

Yes, that was the one they never updated - I remember ... maybe it helps to ask them again as well. I still have our twitter communication from way back so using this to continue the request might help - at least with the outdated game.

About the game soundtrack (that is quite good), it is available lossless and DRM-free from Bandcamp.
Thanks GOG and BedTime Digital for the freebie out of nowhere, a gift is always a good thing to start the week!
Wishlisted, thanks!

Thanks for the constructive response. I can understand missing a patch, but these devs literally missed 3 of them, 1 in 2019 and 2 in 2020. That's like giving the middle finger to GOG users.

Unfortunately they're far from me supporting them, with the giveaway over the 1st game is back at full price on GOG meanwhile it's discounted to €2 on Steam (apparently till 15th March). Again they're treating GOG users as 2nd class citizens.

Suffice to say that I'm never buying anything made by these people.

Like I said - I was not thinking that my remarks would change your mind, I just wanted to point them out. For what it's worth: you still get Figment 1 for free here if you buy Figment 2 (which as far as I could see is a thing they don't offer on Steam) and the OST for Figment 1 now also has arrived.

Steam is apparently offering an even better deal - Figment Bundle: Both games for just €15.56

Definitely doesn't help in changing my mind, I feel even more repelled.

At 79 cents, the soundtrack might be worth buying for some people. My suggestion is to skim it here on YouTube and decide. https://www.gog.com/en/game/figment_soundtrack
