The main positive thing I can think of, and to stay in the world of video game, is that a game like Divinity OS2 (and a studio like Larian) can still be released nowadays AND be a commercial success. Please keep giving us such amazing video game experiences!

The thing that has been on the top of my non-virtual wishlist for more than six years has dropped into my lap in 2017, pretty literally, so I'll leave the chance to win expensive games to others for now. NOT IN.

What has been at the top of that wishlist, of course, was a new job with far better pay and, uhm, considerably more functional and far less absurd working conditions than the one I've been clinging to for almost nine years. And alakazam, with the hefty help of a former co-worker, mid year I leaped. And it was oh so definitely the right decision.

I tell you what, I have kids, and they manage to be the epicenter of all positive things in my life as well as the source of 90% of the stress :)

Totally worth it though, and offering more beauty and wonder than even living in the Northern Rockies, which is a pretty epic backdrop for life...

Granted, it shut down Heathrow Airport for all intents and purposes, but you know, snow!
I had to work on Sunday, but a lot of kids trooped by, ecstatic about all the possibilities of the fluffy white stuff.

I then went shopping after work to pick up dinner, and found everyone had descended on the supermarket as if the world was ending, and now was the only time to pick up the soft toilet paper, before.The. World. Ended.

Very amusing to see people so panicked about a couple of inches of snow. And not even really knowing it. Just knowing that that shopping trolley must be full. Full. FULL!
I call it Fear of Being Snowed In. FOBSI.

2017 was pretty bad for me but I'm optimistic about 2018, I have some plans and I intend to stick to them. I'm trying to think less about my mistakes from the past and I'm starting to appreciate small things lately as well.
