king_mosiah: Is there a list of games in GOG's catalog that have a Linux port but have not been released here?

immi101: something like this?

Yes, thanks!

king_mosiah: Yes, thanks!
Given the recent bankruptcy announcement for Bad Juju Games (Desura's parent company, for those who don't know), now might be a good time to nag Running With Scissors about getting the Linux release of Postal 2 on GOG.

Also, Gameolith quietly died within the last year, so it'd probably be a good time to nag Spyderweb Software about the Linux port of Avadon: The Black Fortress. (After the Humble Bundle, I asked Spyderweb Software about a Desura key for the Linux version and they said they'd signed an exclusivity deal with Gameolith for it.)

EDIT: While asking if I could get a GOG key for my Desura copy of POSTAL: Classic and Uncut, I also mentioned that, prior to the Bad Juju Games bankruptcy filing, I'd been planning to ask about a Desura key for my GOG copy of Postal 2 so I could have the Linux version.

When replying, they said "Linux will come to GoG in time for sure, as soon as we've finished implementing the windows updates to that build, which we've just started work on."

The Bard’s Tale IV will come with the original trilogy remastered, and Linux users haven’t been forgotten:

Here is hoping we can actually run them properly out of the box this time, unlike the ones packed with the 2004 Bards Tale...
Sorry to interrupt the lovely conversation on Bard's Tale (which I backed), but to go back to the topic... since a few days my lgogdownloader does :

HTTP response code said error
HTTP ERROR: 404
* Line 1, Column 1
Syntax error: value, object or array expected.

Does any of you use lgogdownloader ? Do you have the same problem ?

I'll try to dig this week-end if no one has a solution already.

Seems to be working fine here. What version are you running and what options are you launching it with?

Downloading: ./world_of_goo_wallpapers.zip
100% ▕██████████████████████████▏ 2.11/2.11MB @ 196.14kB/s ETA: 0s
Retrieving your shelf. This may take time.
Getting game info 1 / 1
Downloading: Windows Installer, English
./world_of_goo/setup_world_of_goo_2.1.0.2.exe
30% ▕███████▉ ▏ 21.85/71.98MB @ 213.56kB/s ETA: 4m 00s
That's what it looks like when I ask it to download extras and a game via my lgogd_gui. (That's where the extra status messages come from.) It exercises both --download and --download-file.

Maybe you should post about it in the lgogdownloader thread so Sude can see it:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/lgogdownloader_gogdownloader_for_linux

It works fine here, does it happen with any command or only when trying to get some specific information?
Ok now I feel shameful :/ I was just because I had an old version (2.20), upgrading to 2.23 solved it... I should have tried that before asking here.

But thanks for the replies :)

king_mosiah: I picked up Don't Starve and I am having problems with the Updater, the fonts are all broken in the gui making it unusable.
avatar
shmerl: Yeah, I always had it. I just ignore this updater and run the game directly. Klei are really lazy with fixing their bugs. I suspect they don't even care to fix them.

Try reporting it to GOG. May be they can pressure Klei to do their work right.
I left a post in the Klei forums, but considering the only response I've gotten so far started with the word "alas" I'm not very hopeful.....
Did anyone try playing Tales from the Borderlands in Wine? I consider buying it, but Wine appdb has no info.

By the way, I recently reinstalled Don't Starve and Reigin of Giants - and just run start.sh and it doesn't show any updater anymore.

Looks like Trine Enchanted Edition just released....

Update: The game runs fine in Debian amd64 after installing libgtk2.0-0:i386. I get an error message for the launcher, it seems trivial though.

(trine1_linux_launcher_32bit:22504): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "xfce",

Yeah, that should be fine. That's just GTK+ explaining that your widgets don't look the way they do in the selected theme's screenshot because it couldn't find a dependency and fell back to something which may be uglier.

It looks fine as is. I've never been that bothered by applications having inconsistent themes anyway...
