Best day of the steam sale so far for me.
Does anyone knows if Steam's GTA: Episodes of Liberty City is a stand alone game, or do I need the original GTA 4 to play.

Just making sure since I'm region locked from GTA 4.

Episodes of Liberty City is a stand-alone game.

jlg6184: I hear that. Until they "fix" their DRM, I will continue purchasing used, console versions of those games. I know I'm just one guy, but still, it is one less sale in their pockets.
Download it somewhere and send over some money to the developers. That way the publisher doesn't see anything, but the people who made it will.

Except those UbiDRM games are also developed by Ubisoft (Ubisoft Montreal), so I don't know how well that plan will work... damn you Ubisoft!
Note that Episodes from Liberty City also has SecuRom with activation limits in addition to the Steam DRM.

Agree. King's Bounty and SupComm2 are a must have for all strategy fans, L4D2 and CoD4 are great shooters and GTA Episodes is also great.
Ohh, and don't forget about the superb indie pack.

Funny that your first two suggestions match my purchase :) L4D I already have, I thought about COD but £10 is a lot for a single impulse purchase for me so I passed it up.

On a side note, not impressed with steam taking so many details now when I pay with paypal, I don't remember them doing that before.

IMO KB is a RPG, not a strategy game. Strategy games involve opponents which do the same as you (collect resources, build up armies, expand their territory, do their best to take you out). RPGs have NPCs which wait for you to level up and get around to killing them for the phat loot.

Not a game at all but I thought I would throw this up here Amazon are selling Pink Floyd's classic album Dark Side of the Moon for $1.99 unsure on restrictions as I have never used Amazon Mp3 and I own the album which you all really should.

Region locked, of course. No one wants to sell mp3s to us dirty central Europeans.

Jumped on that last night as soon as I noticed the price change. Amazon hadn't even announced it as a deal yet.
Nothing for me today, which really is just as well. My backlog is already sitting in the corner, whimpering.
I bough today the L4D2 and Indie pack. Also picked up the WoW Battle Chest for my little brother at Gamestop, in which he has done nothing but kiss my ass.
Spent a total of 60 bucks today on games. =(

You spent too much since now you can buy WoW with both expansions for 20 bucks right from Blizzard.
