KavazovAngel: Steam... singleplayer non-Valve game... :)

Exactly why I'm asking the question.

paulodepaiva: I like to have most of my games in one service, I find Steam convenient.
Good for you. ;) I like to have most of my games on my hard disk, pimped up with mods, slimstreamed of any unneeded files, and a custom installer that I can easily install the game with the way I like it. :p

While I don't know what kind of DRM Torchlight has, I do know that the Steam version is fully compatible with mods.

Wherever you pick it up, make sure to grab Torchleech ( http://torchleech.runicgamesfansite.com ) as well. It's an excellent mod manager.

Wasn't talking about Torchlight in particular, but never mind. ;)

Can someone please answer my question? :)

That's probably the best answer you'll get.
When Gamersgate lists Securom as DRM, it's almost always, in my experience, a onetime online activation with a key. Torchlight is no exception, I just needed to enter the key once, then it never bothers you again.

You can also easily bypass it for future installs by copying the temp files before installation.

It's always on drm. I'll think about it. At this point I have steam, eadm, securom and gwfl installed on my pc. What's a little more at this point?

Man was that fast for a $50 game to drop to $5. It was released June 12th on PC.

Yeah, but if it is the same DRM is like AC2 or Conviction, I can understand people passing on this...Granted most everyone nowadays has DSL or Cable internet, but still, always having to be connected is kinda crappy DRM...
Debating Tropico 3 gold to the last minute. I really doubt it will go lower than $7.50 for the game + expansion but, then again, Tropico 4 has been announced and is set for Q2 of 2011. Given that I'd be amazed if they didn't have it on sale again at the Holiday Sale trying to push as much out the door as possible before the new one arrives. That and it's been on sale at every other major sale in the past and a few times in between).

On an unrelated note and I think people mentioned it a few pages back: World of Warcraft is having a sale on all their previous expansions. Even if you only have a passing interest I'd say getting Vanilla for $5 is well worth it. It's all the level 1-60 content and a free month's subscription (unless they took that out, don't know). That's easily worth $5 for a month's experience given they just updated the sub 60 content.

It is indeed the same drm as AC2, Conviction and Settlers. Certain parts of the game get loaded right from their servers, must mainatain a constant connection at all times and game saves are online only. Now that I think about it more, it makes all the other drm schemes I mentioned look very pedestrian. Those other drm schemes are unobtrusive and don't impact my system performance at all. I have a perma connection but it acts up every now and then and wasting bandwidth to play a single player game and not own any game saves sucks hardcore. With all this, they still charge a fee for a two year download "protection." That's extra funny coming from a company who's games are uber dependant on an internet connection.

I hear that. Until they "fix" their DRM, I will continue purchasing used, console versions of those games. I know I'm just one guy, but still, it is one less sale in their pockets.
New slate of Steam deals out, I hesitate to post them because whenever I do someone invariably beats me to it as I type. L4D2 is $5 individually so that suggests if something was in a pack earlier it might go on sale individually another day -- maybe I jumped the gun a bit on PQ2~ Ah well. King's Bounty Platinum (The Legend, Armored Princess, Crossroads) is a good deal at $8.75 total although I already own The Legend.
Left4Dead 2 - 3,5€
CoD4 - 12,5€
Supreme Commander 2 - 5€
Galcon Fusion - 2,25€
King's Bounty Platinum - 7,5€
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light - 7,5€
GTA: Episodes - 7,1€
Indie Pulse Pack - 4,5€

and

Blur 15€
FINAL FANTASY XI ULTIMATE COLLECTION 5€

on Steam

L4D2 is great, but I already have that one. The other deals are "meh".
