Tantrix: This...is awesome:

You get a 25 bucks coupon and can literally buy any game which is in the offer.
Got myself Ninja Blade without wasting a penny. It worked.
I nearly bought Tropico 3, but I am more interested into action games.

Thanks! Worked like a charm.

But does it work? By reading the forum posts there, it seems some users have quite a few problems with their stake. I have loads of games right now, so I'll pass.

Thank you. Bought UFO: Extraterrestrials Gold .
Got Elven Legacy and then traded it for around $21 (after I heard from others that their client don't have a pause download feature...WTF with that?). Will probably spend it for smaller games such as VVVVVV.

I also bought UFO: Extraterrestrials Gold. I mean, why not, if it works, a free game, if not, worth a shot.
And I know that I could've traded in something pricey and then "bought" more games, but that's just streching their hospitality.

I wonder, how will they survive this one game for free offer.

This site hasn't gotten much attention since it launched. The goal is probably just to get people to create accounts and try out the service by making them an offer they (probably) can't refuse. You're much more likely to buy from a particular service if you've already got an account and are familiar with how it works. I know I wouldn't have bothered with it otherwise.
I'm browsing now (very, very slowly), but I don't see much of interest. I'd like to play Cryostasis, but I already know it doesn't perform well on my system, so I'd rather not waste my time. Maybe I'll get VVVVVV.
Is it just me, or does this site seem a bit expensive?

You have to remember that ultimately they really are a rental service. They've already bought a specific amount of keys for each game. Once you've finished playing it, they expect you to trade the key back to them where they give you a bit of credit then sell the key to someone else.
The only thing going for the service, at least as far as I'm concerned, is that they have no restrictions on their games so I can pick up games from them that I can't get from Steam, Direct2Drive or GamersGate (ie, Dark Sector or Ninja Blade).
There are downsides though. For those who are opposed to DRM, you're not going to want anything to do with this service. It uses SecuROM with a three day activation scheme. Which even I'm finding annoying -- and I generally don't mind SecuROM. But this having to dial home every three days is going a bit too far. Especially given that they are still a new site and could go belly up at any moment.
As such, I'm not prepared to pay much over $9.99 for anything from them as there really are no assurances that they will still be around this time next year, let alone in a few months time.
For that matter, who ever is writing their "blog" isn't doing them any favors. They're mainly focusing on commenting on console games in a manner which is attracting the wrong type of attention if they are serious about promoting their business.

agree ( uninstalled their client )
The client/DRM that GMG use is understandable as it enables the trade-in function which is something unique to them. Yes it's a rental service really but it's good for games you are interested in which might not be as good as you think. It's also worldwide and doesn't rob people who have the cheek to use Euros. As long as you know it's a rental service then it's fine.
Looks like GMG has damn near gone under already. :P

No kidding. When I try to login I get a gateway error.
No, it works now.

Barely. Did you get your money back on Chaos Rising, by the way?

Even then, I think having to reactivate every three days is a little too much. Once a week, or once a month, wouldn't be as annoying. Better yet, if SecuROM allows it, all they need do is authenticate once and then revoke authentication on a successful trade-in.
Oh well, wasn't holding my breath anyway. Sure as hell I won't dance with their DRM scheme. As soon as I saw the "a must have" installer I knew it's gonna be trouble.
