trusteft: As usual Impulse is taking the piss with european (and other) customers but only selling AAA games in NA. Then blaming only the publisher when every single other digital store sells these games to the whole freaking world.

Oh those evil Americans won't let me buy games from them! How dare they not sell me things! As a person, I am entitled to buy games from anywhere! My rights as a European are being trampled!
Relax.

This comment doesn't make sense. As a fellow American, I apologize for it.

Why not? It is absurd to demand that somebody sell you something. That is an entitlement complex to the nth degree. I don't stomp my feet because some UK retailer won't ship me video games.

I don't see any demands in there, just facts. Your dismissive nonsensical reply doesn't make the statement any less true.

Looks like faux rage resulting from an entitlement complex to me.

Translates to: "They are mocking us Europeans, how dare they!"

I relly don't want to derail the thread (even more), but to me it looks like you could have just added a 'NA only' tag to your DAO post and that would be that. Then again, being in NA yourself i'm guessing that's the kind of thing you don't usually have to worry about.
As for the 'taking the piss' that's exactly how i feel aswell, so call it whatever complex you wish to call it, but it won't change the fact that i can't get in on the deal you posted because i'm on the wrong side of the pond and Impulse can't get their regional shit togheter. If entitlement complex means that i would like to get in on this deal and i can't, then yeah.

I love the subtle dig at the end. Also, I had no idea that the deal was NA-only. Had I known, I would have posted it. Okay? Here, let me post it again, complete with the WOOP WOOP WOOP NA-ONLY ALERT tag.
Impulse has added Dragon Age: Origins to its sale list.
$37.46
http://impulsedriven.com/dragonage
DANGER WILL ROBINSON: NORTH AMERICA ONLY AND THAT MIGHT NOT EVEN INCLUDE MEXICO SO LOOK OUT

In unrelated news, Dell has the Xbox 360 Arcade for $160 (less if you use Dell EPP). You can find a 20 GB hard drive for about $30 on eBay, so it's a solid deal.
I assume that this deal is limited to the USA, and possibly Canada. Still, good stuff for those interested.

Not the whole world. In fact, only GamersGate sell EA games world wide (and only via their UK site), the others, D2D, Impulse, Steam and even the EA store (not to mention all the smaller lesser known stores), either do not sell world wide or offer a limited selection (in the case of the EA store) in certain countries.
So while the compliant on Impulse only selling primarily in the US is valid, your point that every single other digital store sells the same games worldwide, is not valid -- in fact, it's far from it.

Yeah ok, so there was a tiny poke at the end there. But i don't think i'm that far off the mark, am i ? After all your reply to trusteft's post doesn't give much indication that you care about our non NA 'boring problems' one way or the other, just along Impulse's shortcommings remain unmentioned.
But you have to admit, with the new format that deal will probably get alot more attention. It looks so good, all in bold and stuff, that it even makes me less angry that i can't get in on it.

Someday the regional lock-out garbage will be no more, my friend.

Still some way to go to towards the 'global village' i guess. I share your optimism though, it's just that sometimes it feels like it's taking an eternity to get there.

Both caught my eye, anyone played them, are they any good?

Making History Gold is a pretty decent game. Same basic concept as something like Hearts of Iron, but a lot less micro management intensive and more stripped down to the basics. Still a good game, though.
