MightyPinecone: Wow, some of those were really cool!

Darvond: Here's a whole thread. I'm prefacing it with a mild content warning.
Sweet, cheers!
Not *generally* a fan of the style and some of the games I find downright ugly (to the point that it turns me off from a game I might otherwise enjoy - I'm looking at you Chroma Squad!)...

... BUT Halcyon 6 did it really well, was a beautiful game and just all around fun. LOVED it.

Also, does Dex count as pixel art? That game was has a great look and nice progression / gameplay elements as well.
Just remembered: Jamestown
Anodyne is just on sale!
I like this one. And yes, it's art is also made of pixels!

actually- no, it is not. just because your screen uses pixels, does not mean the art does so.

generally speaking, you can split computer graphics in two groups - vector and raster graphics. Raster graphics are presented as arrays of color values (this is your pixel graphics) and vector as mathematical equations (basically lines and polygons), Your Witcher 3 game example is based on vector graphics, not raster.

A lot of people don't like pixel art but this thread has doubled my wishlist.
Into the Breach and Halcyon 6 have got to be my favs, though I wish the latter went with a less cartooney look for the character models.
I'm a bit surprised nobody mentioned The Last Door (or I missed something). It looks just amazing for me.

KiwiEC:
Lots of good mentions thus far, but it's lacking a big one. I've seen quite a bit of pixel art and the best I've seen by far on GOG is in Rain World. That game is beautiful purely on its own merits and a fantastic execution of pixel art as a graphical style - no need for nostalgia goggles.
Anyone interested should watch a video first because the screenshots do not do justice to how it looks in motion. Also, keep in mind that it's a challenging game that plays by its own rules. You'll get frustrated if you try to approach it as a typical platformer, but if you can get past that and play it on own terms you'll be getting a rather special experience in return.
By which I mean to say that it's quite good, in case that wasn't clear.
