seppelfred: The "complete journey" isn't complete. It lacks the fourth game in the series. The GOG collection is the better option.;)
Except for the quality improvements.
Papers Please.
The system requirements were recently increased as the game was updated to use a new engine.
On Steam, there is legacy-64 branch for those who need the old version (source: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/239030/view/3651894293966905793)
On GOG, there does not seem to be anything (source: https://www.gogdb.org/product/1207659209#downloads).

Actually there is a legacy branch in Galaxy for Windows & Mac. But there is no legacy version for Linux.
They should make the legacy versions available for the offline installers as well.

neumi5694: Even Humble got "the complete journey", but they never bothered to bring that to GOG.
Instead we got a "collection" containing the 4 legacy versions.

I guess you guys are talking about the "Deponia" series from Daedalic (the title was missing in the posts befoe).

No, it is not. The best option would be the "complete edition" + the additional fourth game (which btw was an afterthought and not meant to exist before they changed their minds). The complete collection has additional commentary (which the legacy versions are lacking completely) and it also is the only one with a questlog.

But Daedalic also still has not included the German version for Chains of Satinav or Memoria which are also both available on humble DRM-free on humble (and often on sale) ... so it is no surprise for me anymore that Daedalic is treating GOG second class. I am surprised though that GOG still accepts their games though - Daedalic has become a terrible studio in the past and they were once one of my favorite being from my home town and absolutely kind and supportive ... but that was years ago.

Crimsonland is missing an update since November 21st, 2022.
Limbo is missing three updates between January 9th and February 9th of 2023. The changelogs for these update are worthless, so who knowns whether it's actually relevant to the GOG build.
Besiege is missing an update since April 27th, 2023.
Uprising: Join or Die is missing its Software EXE with has more goodies than the 3dfx EXE that comes with this game.

Also i covered more here since is warhammert giveaway https://www.gog.com/forum/final_liberation_warhammer_epic_40000/this_game_needs_a_extensive_ddraw_wrapper_support
Myst only 1.8.6 on gogdb https://www.gogdb.org/product/1251226620#changelog and 1.8.7 on steam since 28 january https://steamdb.info/patchnotes/10411397/
the quest also is such a game treating gog custumers as inferior second class citizens.
tons of expansions (both charged and free) and modifications are available for the quest.
but only available on steam workshop, for "elite" customers who own the game on steam.
there is no access to all this content for those of us who purchased the quest on gog.

suggestion of the developer: "purchase the game on steam".
in other words: gog customers have to pay TWICE for ONE game!

xerxes866: The only thing Gog is good for, is games you can't get elsewhere.
That's what I use Steam for. I only buy there what I can't get anywhere else. Before I pick Steam, I pick GOG, itch, EA, Uplay, Epic, XBox Live and Rockstar Games.
Only when all of these fail, I go to Steam and only when I really want to have a game.

With few exceptions I am perfectly happy with the releases of the games here (first in line being Stubbs and Another World, both missing a update, one for removing the green filter, the other for more languages and high res backgrounds).

Fun fact: A friend of mine buys on Steam, because he has his whole library on Steam. But he uses GOG installers from a illegal site for convenience (which earns him annoyed looks from my side.). Looks like there is a reason to pick GOG after all.

I have bought games on itch, Epic and elsewhere. Epic has earned the hatred they receive. When Epic has 2 factor authentication, and they don't send the code until 5 hours later, they are useless to me. Any games I have on Epic I buy again on steam if I actually want to play them. Epic is dead to me, itch is ok, but they have a limited line up. As for Gog, I don't see the appeal besides old games. The DMR claims as just are not true.

I just don't see the appeal of Gog. If Gog actually had DMR free games, yeah that would be great. But they don't.

You must have some weird definition of DRM, if you feel GOG has no DRM-free games.

(I presume you meant DRM by "DMR".)

Offline playable without internet connection is good enough for me. Call that however you want.
I have over 2000 of these.

Even in the case of Hitman: GOTY? You have access to a lot less if you play offline.
