I really wonder how Team17 handles the updating process. They clearly have earned their reputation for not updating their games on GOG properly, yet the two games I've bought from them (Greak - Memories of Azur and Blasphemous) are updated on time and they get all the DLC. The only thing that's missing here are the Mac and Linux builds for Blasphemous - which is, sadly, to be expected of GOG.

At this point, I'm kinda assuming that Team17 leaves updating their games to the developers themselves, so we can blame them for not enforcing it (like GOG), but you might actually get lucky with a dependable dev.

TheEndedSkull: Based on GOGDB's Build dates, it looks like Overcooked 2 is missing at least one update, being outdated since at least October. I'm starting to wonder why GOG even allows companies like Team17 to sell here...
Are you talking about this update from October 2020?

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/728880/view/2861432654112569948

It's the only recent-ish October update I can see. I just installed and checked my GOG version and that content is there. The only other recent updates that aren't on GOG are the crossplay updates, and the reason they probably aren't here is the Steam and Epic versions of those updates sound a bit wonky from what i've heard.

Othercide was finally updated.
Neat that it finally got updated, yet I am not going to support them with their next game.

Oh, and of course they didn't forget to release the new DLC here. Priorities. ;)

Thank you very much for checking that! I was going off of the information on GOG Database (since I don't own the game yet myself), which lists the last build as being from about a week before that update. I guess they must have uploaded it early then in preparation for the official release.

Yeah, I looked into this update a few months ago and the different timing releases confused me as well lol.

Chasm is currently missing an update, although around when it came out (mid October) one of the developers did say on their Discord that they'd get the GOG build out after making sure any initial problems were taken care of. I'm guessing they just forgot since then. I sent a message asking when we should expect it, so we'll see what happens.

EDIT: What a quick response! The dev is planning updates for GOG and Humble in the next week or so.

Demon Turf will be getting a 1.1 patch in the (near?) future that includes a level editor the developers have confirmed will be exclusive to the Steam version. They did state that "In the future [they] might implement a mod.io feature too but can't make any promises". If I understood correctly everything else in the update will be on GOG, it's just the level editor that's Steam-exclusive. I have to wonder how many instances like this would be avoided if GOG had some equivalent to match Steam Workshop.

Also, not quite related to this thread since it's technically separate but in case anyone was curious about it, they do not have any plans to release the free game/demo Demon Turf: Trials outside of Steam.

I have to wonder how things would be without the workshop, as its main function is making Steam a walled garden which induces devs to segregate other stores, as we see already.

How I wish Steam Workshop had never been created. I hated it even when it was new and I was still shopping exclusively on Steam.

Apologies if these have already been mentioned, been compiling a list:

Fury Unleashed - Linux version at 1.7.0.3 while Win/Mac at 1.8.2.3
Elderborn - Galaxy is at v1.07, offline installers still outdated at v1.037
Children of Morta - Linux version at 1.2.63, Win/Mac at 1.2.74
Ion Fury - Linux version at v1.1, Windows at 2.0

Starting to see a pattern? Let's continue.....

Neverwinter Nights EE - Win version at 86, Mac/Linux 85.
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight - Win installers at v1.07, Mac at v1.062 and Linux at 1.063

You'll have to forgive me for being a bit pissed, I can understand GOG may miss something here and there, but goddamn the list of outdated installers piles on and on and often I wonder how the hell do they never do anything about this stuff.

Is there a thread for keeping track of offline installers that are outdated compared to Galaxy builds? I would think they're not appropriate for this thread since, if I understand correctly, the offline installers are handled by GOG and so it's not really fair to blame the devs/publishers for it.

Blue Fire is currently two updates behind on its offline installers. It got a 4.2.0 update at the end of September and a 5.0.5 update late November, but the installers are still on 3.3.5 from mid-August. I've contacted GOG Support about fixing this, but it might be worth mentioning in a thread dedicated to tracking such issues if there is one.

EDIT: Oh, and apparently (relevant to this thread) Blue Fire is missing its second free OST here ("Blue Fire Soundtrack Vol. II").

Have you tried to contact the devs?

Sometimes it's not GOG the one who drop support for those version, it's the studio that abandon those version.

Not a thread. A spreadsheet, updated about once a week:

GOG has been informed of this spreadsheet multiple times.

They really just released ST Armada 1+2 and didn't upload the latest game version (which most likely is identical to the final versions, since it's RCs, but still ...)
