Discuss.

Sorry if it's a repost / and the title, yep, that was somehow a little sensacionalist since I just copied it from another source. I'm to blame, moi! ;)

Well it's meant as a Chromebook-like device I think.
Which would be fine, except for the price.
Wait, so you won't be able to install GOG or Steam on this machine?

"only apps from Microsoft's app store will run"

Hooorraay mom got me a new pc to play my GOG games, a new Surface laptop!

Then msoft's all like you might wanna think twice about that lad ;(
M$ is fast losing terrain to open source / free initiatives when it comes to software development tools and, for quite some time now, is no longer a "default" vendor for that purpose as it was in the past. I wouldn't expect that to happen to games as well, but seems like they will be shooting at their own foot this time if they actually do that.

Or it will end extremely well for M$, or they will be creating a fence that will make people jump to the side of OS / free platforms for gaming as well. Hoping for the second scenario.

Anyway, that's just me thinking. Who knows what will happen next :)

The reason why Microsoft can do this and will get away with it, is the fact that there are zero other OSes for PC. So people will have no choice other than buying it.
So, Windows 10 S is the dead for for free gaming, especially for DRM free gaming.
RIP GoG.

I tried Linux, it`s crap!
It's the equivalent of the cheap shit (whatever it was called) they were installing on bad early Surfaces. Nothing to worry about.

You should probably make it to stop scaring people.

You can change to Windows 10 Pro in a click.

MicroSoft isn't that stupid to lock PC gamers out of other online digital distribution retailer stores, like gog.com and Steam, etc.

Don't you come in here with your facts; there's sensationalism to be had.
