Even if it is seen as a viable 'early strategy' it would need to wait until at least day 2 otherwise the Doctor's hands are tied Night 1 already.

Ah but see, we never have to identify the herbalist, just motivate them with a group vote. The undertaker is different because they're a critical informant who needs to speak, and if the flips are as useless as the OP suggests, then we'll probably need their information sooner rather than later.

Maybe leave this for the second day though since we don't know all of the game conditions yet.

I misread your "him" meaning. Regardless, either way, definitely never a good strategy to identify town power roles, unless you're scum (: And then WAYYY MORESO in this setup, considering scum wins when the 3 power roles have been eliminated.

Here's the catch, per post 135: The doctor can only protect the coroner one night before having to take a night off. So if scum shoot at the coroner for two nights in a row, they WILL kill him. This assumes the mystery role doesn't intervene in some fashion.

Why?

Here are my counter reasons, or "why no-lynch is a bad choice":
- Our winning condition is to eliminate scum. Our only weapon against scum is lynching. No lynch - means scum live, we might lose.
- You will almost never be sure as to who is scum in the game. There is a group of scum in the game, right now, discussing things with us and we don't know who they are. So even a poorly judged lynch is still a good choice of action, for we may hit (at the very least) scum by accident.
- No lynch means that on Day 2 we will have only a nightkill's victim to look at (if he/she is not saved miraculously by the doctor). We will not know who wanted him/her dead, and reading victim's posts of Day 1 is as good as a fart in a fog. Because Day 1 is full of RVS and jokes, and "things that look smart at the first glance but turn out to be stupid" and most of all, melons.
- (adding to that ^ point) Any lynch - successful (lynch scum) or not (lynch townie) is our source of information to analyze as to who might be scum. It is good. It is something to go on.

I'm happy to vote no lynch until Game Master Carr gives us more information on what tools we have available. Right now there's a 77% chance of lynching a townie and bringing everyone 1 round closer to a mafia win, on top of whatever happens tonight.

You know... Agentcarr16 mentioned in the opening post, flavor, that "...we must find these cultists...". I am not even thinking about Cult Leader role in the game or anything like that. BUT! When I say "cult" and you look more closely...

Now tell this does NOT look like some mantra, chanting, spell casting, neuro-linguistic programming, hypnotism or suggestion! I know some people like to soft-bread-crub, leave clues about their roles/alignments. And this looks like an Evil cultist's work for me.

Combine it with early poking of drealmer7 and Bookwyrm627, more of drealmer7 - an easier prey for D1 lynch (drealmer7, I say "easy prey" only thinking of your early D1 lynches in past games)... We get a big and valid early question: is HypersomniacLive (as in, this particular player out of all players) scum or not?

i've lost my voice in person promoting this fact. no lynch gives us a zero percent chance of lynching scum. it's a necessary risk to lynch someone. Also - if it is a townsperson...it might shed light on who jumped on board to try to kill someone quickly. scum love to vote for a townie and move the game along.
