HypersomniacLive: Someone tampered with the security algorithms. Based on post #2, I assume that this action would require high INT.
So, who's the smartest in the room?

Does bombing require a specific STAT to be high?

I echo Crewdroog's question in post #18, and wonder if there's something to certain players being mentioned in the OP
.

Also, I wonder why some among us automatically assume that our missing fellow crew members are dead (posts #34, 45, 48, 92) - why do you assume they're dead? I may be reading it wrong, but the wording in the OP seems to only state with certainty that we don't know the whereabouts of a number of them. Or does that "we've lost" imply they're dead? Am I the only one reading it this way?

@mod

"Och, tae hell wi' it!"

Is this Scottish? Can we have a translation, please? And could we stick to English? That's enough of a challenge for some of us.

HypersomniacLive: Is this an RVS vote or serious? Based on the time you've made it, I'd say it's RVS, but then you mentioned the reason, and we all know how that bothers you.

More coming in a bit.
thank you, I'm glad someone is listening to me!
And that's why I usually don't breadcrumb. Subtlety somehow doesn't come naturally to me - go figure. I'm not even sure what I was trying to accomplish.

btw, I really didn't know that "fin" meant "finesse". I mean, hey, where's my "loq" stat to determine speaking ability? How about "hum" to see if you laugh at my jokes? The given explanation now makes perfect sense for me, though. To the point where a time is probably going to come where the right move is probably to do a stats claim. But, of course, nobody wants to hear that this early, right? Pardon my paranoia right after I finished modding a game where stats were all kinds of useful.

btw2: My name isn't Johnny Trollcrap. That was a joke that nobody got.

Next question: Who exactly are our "intruders"? What's their motivation? What do they look like?

Because FIN was from our PMs, discussing PM information is something I find to be scummy as it's not necessary. So it was a serious vote when I placed it. The mod has since elaborated and it's not as big a deal, but at the time it was an unknown factor and it might have been something that not everyone had in their PMs and then we are playing the "I don't get it" game again.
Also from the OP:
[...] the player you vote for will be lynched and killed, revealing his alignment.
Does that include role and STATs, or only alignment?

drealmer7: Like I said, I'm new here to this station and I may not be clear on certain policies or protocals. Advice is appreciated, certainly. but I almost take what you say as a threat! If no one knows each other, any of us could be intruders anyway, and so, my words are ultimately meaningless unless anyway. I will remain silent for now because I have nothing more to contribute anyway until we get here what the rest of these people have to say, if anything.
[emphasis added]

That sentence seems to be unfinished, or I just don't get what you're saying. Could you elaborate/rephrase?

drealmer7: [...]
Obviously I lack sleep. It's these new hours, I tell you! Please forgive me if I am out of line, I don't mean to exude any authority beyond that which I have, which I'm not even sure what that is at this point, being newly assigned and all, I'm pretty sure it's just a meaningless title meant to make me feel like I'm important than like most of the rest of you meat-heads here. Wait, I don't mean that!

[...]
[emphasis added]

After your post #60 (and Ixamyakxim gave you some sound advice on that), this sounds to me that you're assuming that most have a power role. If I'm not misinterpreting it, may I ask why?

avatar
agentcarr16: ...then HSL will meet you in the scum thread tonight.
Is that where you'll be hanging out Tonight, and each Night after, before killing us one after another? I wonder if we should start with you.

avatar
CarrionCrow: [...] D. The intruders stealing explosives. [...]
Why do you assume that they stole explosives? And are you implying that they stole them from the Station's security department?

avatar
dedoporno: What is that supposed to mean?
I have an idea based on the OP, but would like to hear his answer.

So...

flubbucket changed his avatar again.

Krypsyn isn't posting any youtube links - could this mean that he's town this game?

drealmer7 is doing some serious role-playing, not sure what to make of it yet, but it's certainly something different, and a bit headache inducing.

And HijacK's MIA - @trentonlf, you think it warrants a prod-vote?
........... The game just started and there are 6 pages to read......

I have homework so just pretend I haven't checked in yet. I shall see you after classes.

HypersomniacLive: And HijacK's MIA - @trentonlf, you think it warrants a prod-vote?
He's posted now, even if a trivial one, but it was almost to the point of a prod vote for sure.

With lack of observer thread access, I'll be +1-ing posts as I giggle maniacally to myself. So I may have laughed at your (generic you) joke, but I don't have much way to say so, thus you'll probably never find out. Just an FYI. Now, back to the silent corner with me!
-----
Full disclosure (so I'll feel better):
While reading the thread, I did PM AgentCarr to let him specifically know I laughed at something.

Full PM 'exchange' here (he hasn't said anything):

I can't say much, and you shouldn't say much to me in return, but I just had to comment on "...then HSL will meet you in the scum thread tonight."

That was pure freaking comedy gold. Just wanted you to know.

(we shouldn't speak much about the game because I'm on the replacement list)

I think this is harmless, but I plan to not do it again (just in case). This was fully me, so any posting restrictions that come from it should only apply to me.
Not sure how relevant this is at this point, but:

QuadrAlien: Ixamyakxim curses, loudly. "Then why are we gathered here?" he continues? "Yes, shouldn't we be in the security department, arming ourselves against yoglsoth?" continues trentonlf.
Here. I fixed that for you.

Also, yogy's name is funny. A fitting name given the trollcrap in his game. It was one of those things that contributed to the suspicion of Quadr.

avatar
trentonlf: He's posted now, even if a trivial one, but it was almost to the point of a prod vote for sure.
Prod votes must be the most terrible idea I've seen so far in mafia. This and the lovers roles.
avatar
Krypsyn: Given the other three stats, I would say yes.
avatar
JMich: Interesting.
You think so too?

And omg, this drealmurica dude likes to write big posts, no kidding.

Wait! You're experienced now? Pffff. Them newbs thinking thinking they are all high and mighty with 1 game under the belt.

Omg. This summarizes my weekends pretty good... Not sure how to feel about that...

yogsloth: Subtlety somehow doesn't come naturally to me - go figure. I'm not even sure what I was trying to accomplish.

You need more RPGs.

yogsloth: btw2: My name isn't Johnny Trollcrap. That was a joke that nobody got.
It.... it was a joke...?... Sad story. I hoped it was real. The irony. Oh the irony. And yes, I got it, but it would have been funnier had it been real....
Stop ruining fun stuff for me!

HypersomniacLive: drealmer7 is doing some serious role-playing, not sure what to make of it yet, but it's certainly something different
I love it! I did it once in a game here (or at least tried to - it was fun!).

And the "red shirt" bit was a reference to the fact that the lowly nonamed guys on Star Trek would go on one away team mission and promptly get killed (not really, but that was the idea of it). They wore Red Shirts so it kind of became a "thing" - a Red Shirt was sort of a sci fi / space station peon who had the early and often task of eating laser bolts, being sucked out an airlock, facing the big bad monster etc etc etc.

Lot of good stuff going on here!
Yeah, its from the original Star Trek. For example, 3 named characters (like Kick, Spock, and McCoy) would beam down with a security officer (they wore the redshirts). Some uppity alien would want to show how powerful they were...you can't have a named character die, so it was always the redshirt...

Now that our mod has provided clarification in post #2, do you still stand by that?

That's actually three questions - how's your counting these days?

I know all that, I just wasn't sure if you were being facetious or if you were seriously suggesting that all the missing crew members were actual Redshirts, as the latter would beg the question how could you possibly know that.
So, do you think that the missing crew members are dead or not?
