trentonlf: Why would I not be willing to play with you? You're a great player and very enjoyable to play with.
I'm pretty sure I get on your nerves about as often as you get on mine. I can't always tell if you actually enjoy it overall, and you may have noticed my feelings about assumptions. Glad to hear it is mostly a good experience. :)

RWarehall: So, you are saying the invaders are aliens, not humans or robots, correct? That would be the one helpful thing you've said all day if true....
Pretty sure that's not what I said. Pretty sure I also said that I don't know if that's case, that I can't investigate, and I don't know if there even are aliens.

RWarehall: The way you seem to "twist the facts" makes me think you are scum...
Keep going. Tell Daddy all about it.

You don't get on my nerves at all. If I somehow made you think I did I'm sorry as that was never my intent. I very much enjoy the game, I always push buttons though as that stimulates the game ;)
To be a little more clear: I can't work with what if I don't know about.

Funny, you think you are such a "superior" player and anyone else's reasons are so "sub-optimum". Just sounds like someone trying to shift the blame for a town lynch.

We are the uninformed majority, the game is designed such that we are very likely to be wrong. I suspect I brought Ixam to the brink for similar reasons Krypsyn voted for him. I was getting sick of the voting paralysis and bringing him to the brink, letting him state his case, might resolve one suspicious player one way or another...so we could get the game moving...

At this point, should Bookwyrm flip town, then I am very sure either you or CarrionCrow are either the strongman or scum roleblocker or both...
My fluid list of most likely-least likely intruders:

Vitek
CarrionCrow
trentonlf

JMich
flubbucket

yogsloth
agentcarr16

HijacK
RWarehall
adaliabooks
mchack

did I forget anyone?

I really think the fact that someone is DEAD the moment their votes reach lynch-status is a bad mechanic. I think people should be given time to make their case for themselves, others to make cases for them, others to unvote or add their vote (and take it OVER the necessary lynch-number sometimes.) It just makes sense, as a "town" coming together and discussing who to eliminate, that it would be much more civil like that, and not a quick "die right away" sort of thing. It seems odd.

If/when I mod it will definitely be like that. Real-time time will have to pass and the vote will have to still be standing after a certain period. Yepyep.
This mechanic works. It makes the game interesting. After L-1, scum has to decide to risk a quick hammer and seeing if they get away with an excuse and town needs to behave themselves. Obviously, this can go wrong, but if the target is really scummy, its not so bad...

All of that business of making a case is what happens BEFORE the person has a majority of the votes. The lock down is because even the mod has to sleep sometime. This is why "quick hammering" might be a scum tell; scum trying to lock in a lynch before townies can react, which can seal the game. Late game, the threat of scum suddenly piling on to finish the game and win does add a certain excited tension.

How long will you wait after a majority is reached? How do you make sure you wait the specified period of time? What happens if that wait time goes past the lynch deadline?
But an interesting thought...if the killer is a strongman, that person might know he was "blocked" but not really...it does open up more candidates for that role...
It is 30 minutes to midnight, so I'm going to bed. If Quad hasn't closed the Day by the time I'm up again, then I'll see about answering anything else that has come up.

I don't really have anything else in reserve at this point.

Except all your information you refuse to share out of spite. :)

Goodnight, sweet Prince Dumbo of Moron.
Apologies for my absence, but workload for school has increased and I have a few exams this week. Regardless, I am catching up right now, but damn you guys post so much. Page 102/107.

Beer over there, strychnine on the table.

Bookwyrm627: and we've seen Hijack repeatedly proclaim he just really wants to hammer.
Trying to paint me scummy when I've clearly stated if I don't like a candidate then I won't hammer. Gotta love your way around with words.

Bookwyrm627: My biggest concern is figuring out how to make sure he doesn't do to me what I did to Bler in the LotR game.
Ah, so you admit to being a wordsmith. Glamorous! Then I don't have to explain what I find faulty with the top quoted part, do I? Your play especially reminds me of how you started asking people for their opinions on Ix when your wagon got traction. Mentally suggesting another candidate, aren't we, Mr. Booky?

avatar
Bookwyrm627: Trent, what do you think of Agent?
And here you do it again! My, my. What a gold mine we have here.

yogsloth: talk fast before drealmer and HijacK compete to hammer you.
I wanted to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt, but his wording just reminds me too much of scumwyrm from your game. I might just reserve that spot.

Might as well state this...
CarrionCrow or Yogsloth as the unidentified roleblocker...
Add Flubbucket and Vitek as possibilities for the strongman killer.
If one of my original list of 8 town was wrong, Vitek tops that possibility...

AgentCarr, your tracking wasn't totally useless, you did confirm HijacK isn't the Strongman killer...
