cristigale: Yes, that was the link. Thanks! The address starts with an 'm', which I assume implies a mobile device. Will a laptop or regular pc read that link?

@Krypsyn - tranquilizer darts is priceless
Didn't actually watch it (I'm in the 'Can't be bothered to watch youtube videos' group) but I can confirm that it still works :)

adaliabooks: I'm in the 'Can't be bothered to watch youtube videos' group
I'm in the 'Can't be bothered to read half of the posts' group. You-tube videos from certain folks would be a welcome change. ;)
Long day and not much happened since last night. My head hurts and I am going to relax a bit and be back later.
Tuesday night vote count:

3 Yogsloth (Trentonlf, Lifthrasil, Flubbucket)
2 Adaliabooks (Krypsyn, CSPVG)
1 CSPVG (Yogsloth)
1 GoG Support (BlueMooner)
1 BlueMooner (HijacK)

With 16 players alive it takes 9 votes to kick someone off the island and 8 votes to "no-lynch".
Yogsloth is closest to leaving at L-6.

Not voting: JMich, HypersomniacLive, Dedoporno, McHack, AgentCarr16, Cristigale, Sage103082 and Adaliabooks

Deadline is in 5 days on Monday Sept 14th at Midnight EDT (UTC -4)
[Extended due to Holidays, Vacations, 16 players and its the first day]

***Of course you can always vote someone off before that***
[zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz]

Everyone posted today! Great job!

Bagatha Chrustie reporting in again.
It's been a slow night in the Murder They Wrote house,
Not a single vote change since midday....

I'll have to see about getting that serial killer back from last season...

Lifthrasil: I hope things settle down next week and that I can be more useful on Day 2 (if I survive the night), but at the moment I am of not much use.
Does that mean that you won't be around at all for the end of D1? Are you sticking to your vote then?

Sage103082: Argument #1

[...]

1. I agree a immediate lynch will end day and that is bad right now. As in why end it so soon and stop talking.
2. exactly not a good thing. Talking is going to help us learn and get a feel for others.
3. yep above
4. agree
5. (10!?) I agree it is bad right now to jump the gun and lynch immediately and stop all communication going on.

So this is in general. I agree with that ending day one ends all communication and though some people hate day one to me I feel as it gives me a chance to get a feel for the other players and any talking and communication we have going is a good thing. We learn and there is a chance for someone to slip up as well.

HypersomniacLive: Cheers
Did you intend to agree with Sage's assessment of my argument, or my argument as a whole?

avatar
BlueMooner: Pressure CSPVG
avatar
yogsloth: Is that a thing? Can we do that? I want to do that!
In some of the older games that I was reading, they used the *cue scary music*

Finger of Suspicion

i.e. FoS adaliabooks because you don't seem to be acting normally, and its making me suspicious.

avatar
JMich: Prod preventing post.
Is that a prod (that is preventing a post) or is that a prod-preventing post? The dangers of mis-hyphenation!

... And it looks like Bagatha Chrusty's singing has killed the thread!

Please, let's not inflict that on ourselves again.

agentcarr16: i.e. FoS adaliabooks because you don't seem to be acting normally, and its making me suspicious.
You think I ever act normally? You clearly don't know me well enough yet... ;)

And I see the thread has died completely, midweek too which is unusual as I seem to remember that it's usually busiest then...
Things are not looking good...

agentcarr16: Finger of Suspicion
hehe, I like that. First there came a bunch of "scary music" snippets to my head that would fit the occasion "Da Da Daaaa" or the like.
And then I looked up FoS in the wiki and had to outright laugh when I encountered the verb fingering in there and I then asked google if I was way off when thinking about something else... Turns out only the wikipedia doesn't agree on the meaning of the word :D

On another matter, and since I also don't have anything to contribute right now, I would like to ask how you guys keep track on how everyone is acting? I mean only what software (if any) you use. I was thinking about making some kind of excel spreadsheet with all the players and putting everything that might be usefull or interesting for future reference in there with a link to the actual post, but somehow I think it's hard to keep an overview that way... Is there some kind of special tool for something like that? or just use text files for everyone. Or one huge .doc? ... Just wondering if someone had a tip, else I might just make textfiles, since I don't really like the spreadsheet solution (screen is to small I guess)...

I've tried all sorts of methods; documents, spreadsheets etc. but never really found one that worked for me.. when the game starts moving quickly (I know, it's hard to imagine right now) I've never been able to keep up... so these days I just largely wing it and use my search script to reread when required to see if my memory is correct about various incidences...
That's probably not much help unfortunately...
Come on now, who really wants yogsloth to be right on the fact that no one can be lynched day one with this many people playing. At the pace we are going everyone is going to wait till the last minute as usual and then if a lynch happens it will be rushed, and that does nothing to help town.

How about everyone places a vote on who they find the most suspicious?! This will stimulate some conversation and help to move the game along.

Don't let the day one blues get to you!

mchack: ......<question>...........

adaliabooks: ......<answer>...........
I does depend a bit on your playstyle/lifestyle.

At my job I am looking at 13 clipboards currently sorting stuff. In forum mafia I've used Google docs to both start individual pages for every player as well as have a running tally of noteworthy events. Other games I've just winged it due to time constraints.

It can be a considerable amount of work, but me depending on my memory is foolish....YMMV

I'm not liking this exchange. It smells a bit contrived/crafted.
avatar
HijacK: Not solid enough to mention it every time. Looks like you're trying to be all friendly with everyone.
So I'll throw this to the group. Do you want me to stop?

I'm the kind of person that says "please" and "thank you" all the time. However, if people think I'm trying to brownnose, or butter everyone up, then say so and I'll stop.

avatar
BlueMooner: I pointed it out, and you didn't feel people talking about you was worth looking into??
avatar
HijacK: No. I did not feel that. Got a problem with that?
Yes, I think it's suspicious.

Agent was dissecting Yog's posts and looking at factors like him starting all his posts with "So", and his capitalization
mistake. I've spent too many years online and seen too many typos to even begin to think that's some sort of super secret coded message on Yog's part. However as Flub pointed out, it's a different story to miss a name altogether, especially when he explained he was making a list of players and grouping them based on suspicion, and MOST especially after claiming to be cop.

His "oopsy" explanation does not sit well with me. While I don't care about typos, I do care about missing names and it does make me wonder if Yog was "saying" something by not including you. Now it's possible that you didn't think it was a big deal and just thought Yog messed up, but I don't know that that's actually the case... I'm not you. I have the slightest sense that you didn't say anything because maybe you didn't want to draw attention to yourself, hoping everyone would overlook it. Which to me, is suspicious. Why hide, unless you're hiding something.

This insistent info fishing sounds more like role fishing to me, on the very day 1.
Isn't it called scumhunting? Why are you defensive about roles, when I never asked about them?
Not only that, you also argued for a no-lynch
I didn't argue for a no-lynch, I ASKED about it, since I'm still learning game theory.
Unvote agent

Vote BlueMooner
On a personal note, I got the sense that my posts upset you. Your responses seemed irritated with me. I don't know why, since I thought it was clear from the context and tone of my post that I was 1) being playful, and 2) trying to stir the pot to get players more actively engaged and initiate some banter. Didn't you yourself comment on that?

avatar
BlueMooner: Maybe I'm just overexcited at my first game and want something to HAPPEN already.
avatar
HijacK: Fascinating. So you want something to happen, but you're waiting for it. Hmmmmm. Not the party starter, are you?
So I'm Starting a Party, or Stirring a Pot. (settle down agent, that doesn't mean anything).

I care about people's feelings, which is partly why I try to be nice to everybody. You don't seem to be that type. Normally I'd apologize here if I had accidentally upset you, but since you think I'm kissing-up to people, I won't.

It also occurs to me that IF you were trying to stay under the radar and not mention yourself because you're mafia, and then someone questioned you on it, a strong response might be a common tactic to try to fend me off, thinking I'll back down. The fact that you jumped IMMEDIATELY to a vote on me, simply for throwing out wild statements at people which were MEANT to be provocative but not serious (Hyper and CS didn't so much as blink), seems defensive and suspicious. Suspicious enough to vote.

Vote Hijack

avatar
trentonlf: To me the greatest weapon town has is the vote. It puts pressure on people so reactions can be gauged, it shows who people really think is behaving in a scummy manner or think is scum (that's why people are upset with adaliaboks for just voting random), and gives town a sense of uniformity in their decisions. Voting is underused IMO.
This answers my question, thank y... um, nothing.

avatar
JMich: Prod preventing post. Will try to catch up later tonight though.
*puts prod back down*
@Bluemooner, Try not to take HijacK's commentary personal.
avatar
dedoporno: Does that mean that you won't be around at all for the end of D1? Are you sticking to your vote then?
No, I'll check in from time to time, whenever I can make it. But I won't be able to participate in discussions like you are used to from me. Also, you are right. I shouldn't let my vote sit there inert and possibly contributing to an early lynch. We still have some days to go, after all. So I'll remove it for now and try to go through the thread on the weekend. If Yog then still appears to be the scummiest, I'll put my vote back.

But for now: unvote Yogsloth

agentcarr16: In some of the older games that I was reading, they used the *cue scary music*

Finger of Suspicion

i.e. FoS adaliabooks because you don't seem to be acting normally, and its making me suspicious.
And in other games or groups, FoS is seen as a scum-tell, since it has been abused by scum too often. It isn't especially useful to town, but it allows scum to appear at odds with a scumbuddy without risking to accidentally bus him or her. So more often than not someone using a Finger of Suspicion will be scum.
Thursday noon vote count:

2 Yogsloth (Trentonlf, Flubbucket)
2 Adaliabooks (Krypsyn, CSPVG)
1 CSPVG (Yogsloth)
1 BlueMooner (HijacK)
1 HijacK (BlueMooner)

Yogsloth and Adaliabooks are closest to leaving at L-7.

Not voting: JMich, HypersomniacLive, Dedoporno, McHack, AgentCarr16, Cristigale, Sage103082, Adaliabooks and Lifthrasil

Deadline is in 4.5 days on Monday Sept 14th at Midnight EDT (UTC -4)
[Extended due to Holidays, Vacations, 16 players and its the first day]

***Of course you can always vote someone off before that***

Bagatha Chrustie checking in again...
I little more movement this morning...
Well if you mean AgentCarr16 fingering or attempting to finger Adaliabooks
Maybe we do have another rapist on the show this year...
But at least its a topic of conversation...
And the overnight ratings are in...
My singing debut garnered a 14% rating increase!
And a petition...
Already 4,000 signatures of viewers who vow never to watch the show again...
If I sing again...ouch...
