Hello!

Part of the draw of horror movies are guessing how the cast will die. What are some of your favourite horror movie deaths?

House of 1000 Corpses - Happens in the intro. Two thugs make the mistake of robbing a superior villain. There's a hint of chaos vs order. The robbers very likely planned this heist and thought everything would neatly fall into place. Of course not a single thing goes right for them. It's a very grim comedy of errors.

Hand that Rocks the Cradle - Marlene's death. I like this one because of how unique it is. It's not often you see someone use a god damn ceiling to kill somebody.

Resident Evil - The elevator scene and laser hallway scene. The tension is great. I especially like the fake out. In each of these scenes they make you think someone is coming out alive.

Dunno about favorites(so hard to choose), but here are some that come to mind atm:

Trick R' Treat - This anthology horror film has some pretty interesting scenes, which are mainly tied to urban legends and other things mentioned in earlier segments of the film. They also often teach some good lessons(for Halloween or otherwise).

Night of the Demons - The ending scene (the pie scene) is somewhat memorable as it bookends with it's companion scene from near the start of the film quite nicely and provides a conclusion to that small subplot.

Nightmare on Elm Street(series) - There are many interesting ones here.....like the woman turned into a bug and then stuck in a roach motel, the nerd turned into a comic book cutout and slashed to shreds, or the stoner who gets stuck in a mario like video game.

Troll 2 - The infamous "oh my god" scene, where someone gets turned to veggie goo then eaten.

Scanners(series) - While maybe not a horror film like the rest, the head splosion scene will always be memorable.

Stay Alive - things that happen in the game happen to the players IRL. I found some of it quite decent at the time(plus the video game aspect was appealing to me as well).

My favourite death from the Nightmare on Elm Street series is the TV one. It's so bizarre and over the top.

Yeah, you mean the one with the "brain on drugs" ad and hippy music? I mentioned that one above. :)

That first rude and abrupt kill in Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The original one.
It's kinda outta nowhere. There's no super tense music or anything, just very wrong place at the wrong time.

I think how nonchalant the kill was is scarier to me. Like it could happen to you.

More recently, the mom's uh death, if you will, at the end of Hereditary. Gory goodness.

Oh yea also the nailgun chick in Evil Dead remake, that was pretty messed up and sad if you think about it.

So many more lol.
I love the Shotgun scene with Tom Savini in Maniac (1980).

Slasher movies aren't horror movies, they are comedies.

Any deaths in the Hostel movies.

Depends on who watches them.....such films are often full of jump scares, and some(even myself sometimes, I admit) are more easily startled than others.

Isn't that the series that painted itself as "based on actual events" or close to reality, while also having one woman using a scythe?

I meant this one (https://youtu.be/TgR9krQRHeA?t=91). I apologize for not bringing that up earlier.
Not a horror movie per se, but the melting man at the end of RoboCop was incredible!

IMO one of the best deaths in movie history. I'm a little conflicted on this one. On one hand the bad guy gets his comeuppance; on the other I feel kind of sorry for him because it's a horrible way to go.
