I have probably mentioned these here before.

I seem to have a soft spot for music by Basil Poledouris. Robocop was mentioned already, and then there was e.g. Starship Troopers:

Then there's the title music from the movie "The Underneath". When I watched the TV only on the side of my eye while I was using the comp and the movie happened to come there, the music captivated me right away. It is quite simple, but very haunting and sad piece of music, perfectly fitting the mood of the movie. Sometimes less is better.

Googling for the song, the tune is apparently called "The Green Head" by Cliff Martinez. I can't find it on Youtube though. There's a soundtrack CD for that movie, apparently Cliff Martinez had made music for many other Steven Soderbergh movies, but I can't name any other of his works I'd specially liked (probably just not aware of them).

Say what you want about the film, but the soundtrack is kickass
The soundtrack is good, but Elmer Bernstein's score is beautiful. The Flight to the Temple almost brings tears to my eyes, it's so good. It also helps that the flying animation is absolutely gorgeous.
Then there's the title music from the movie "The Underneath".
The first minute of the movie trailer has the tune (The Green Head) playing faintly in the background. Too bad it can't be heard too clearly due to voices and stuff.

Thief soundtrack - Tangerine Dream

One of my favs, the music made the movie. Can't really tell you why it left such a long lasting impression . . just that I remember the movie because of the music.

Edit: Probably because I ran it thru a 4-channel Marantz amp with four Imperial 7 speakers at full volume ??? . . . ; P

Oh yeah. Terrible movie, but pretty much the only thing I can't complain about is the soundtrack. Definitly awesome.

The Ravenous soundtrack is just ridiculous. I love it. It is very good for what it is. I've tried to find genuine artists/bands that make that kind of music, but to no avail. I think I would have to time travel to the past to hear more music like that, and it probably wouldn't be as good. This is the only soundtrack I own.

I saw at least one other person mention Wong Kar Wai or one of his movies. He used this song...

...in such a way that I will always remember it and his trilogy featuring it. Perfect song for the perfect atmosphere. I'd remember him and those movies anyway as much of his works are masterpieces, but still, this song selection struck a cord.

The movie The Thin Red Line has some pretty good songs like this:

Then of course we have Hans Zimmer's song from True Romance, or Carl Orff's Gassenhauer from Badlands. The two movies are practically symbiotic anyway.

Master and Commander features some pretty damn good songs as well from its period.

Ravenous is the only movie sound track I know that has an abundance of great songs as opposed to just a handful like most of the movies mentioned in my post. Actually, there is one more soundtrack I really like a lot, I just can't remember it right now.
Footloose
Top Gun
Conan the Barbarian.
