So I'm sitting here trying to get my Laptop to co-operate with my TV via HDMI and actually have sound so I can play a game... and that game is going to be a military shooter because I feel like playing one.

And as I'm waiting I was wondering what some of your favorite Military Shooters are, new or old.

Mine are Battlefield Bad Company 2, Insurgency Battlefield 4 (to a degree) and I think that's about it. Those are my go to games for some military shooter action.

what about you guys? What are your favorites and your go to's?
I like Operation Flashpoint / ARMA: Cold War Crisis, and Commandos: Strike Force. The first one leans heavily towards a realistic model, the other one is much more 'arcade'. In that respect, I enjoy both of them for what they are. The Battlefield games are also good, but I never got into them too deeply.
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Can't beat the classic. I just recently replayed it , and it holds up well. And the expansion packs are even better. Also: Republic Commando. Ok, it's fictional military, but still.

I hope you realize that sometimes we share a brain.

I was just about to posts those two games.

I'll throw in an indie too, Deadly Dozen: Pacific Assault
Friend once tried to get me into the ARMA series, not my thing. I normally like the semi-arcade ish military games, the old Medal of Honor series, Conflict Desert Storm and *again* the old Ghost Recon games. New games don't appeal much, they've become way too simple minded.

That would explain why I can never use the whole thing properly :D
I've never really played any other military shooters other than Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam, so I guess I'll have to go with those two. I remember trying one of the earlier CoD games and maybe a Medal of Honor game, but nothing that really stuck in my memory.

You know, in Doom you are a Marine. Doesn't that make it a 'military shooter'? Ditto for SS2.
Every Call of Duty from the first one to now, every Battlefield, every Medal of Honor, but especially Call of Duty! Also, your mum says hi.
Op Flashpoint / Arma Series.

Hidden and Dangerous 2.
I have a few hundred hours total in the Battlefield-games (Battlefield 1942 - Battlefield 3), I lost interest when BF4 launched, now it seems it's just being milked. Great multiplayer in all the games, it's even fun with bots. The co-op campaign in Battlefield 3 is also a excellent co-op experience, but sadly, it's very short.

Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 was amazing. It's been almost 10 years since I played it, but I was blown away by it back then. I should replay it some day. I also never played the sequel.
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty MW, Operation Flashpoint and I'd probably try Insurgency.
Spec Ops: The Line. Not exactly fun, not exactly exciting, not exactly innovative nor engaging.
But the plot, oh my, the plot. It makes up for everything IMHO.

Metal Slug (any) for co op mindless shooting fun, to cope with the now depressive state of mind left by Spec Ops: The Line. :p

Great game. Almost not a shooter because if you try to be Mr Hero and blow everyone away you won't make it very far. A lot of the game is positioning and allowing your buddies to do the dirty work.
Bad Company 2.

Delta Force Land Warrior, I loved it chesse quality back in the day.
