i LOVED the crow, and the cures: burn is a fantastic song and an EPICLY powerful scene (especially given lee's death... music, the sequence, everything was great:

The Crow has AMAZING soundtrack, such a great collection of 90's music.
One of the great classics from the Final Fantasy series, in all of it's orchestrated glory:

"Dancing Mad", the final boss theme of Final Fantasy VI

(It has a lot of different movements, be sure to hear all of it!)

Elmofongo: Been awhile so what do you think of this song from the Ratchet and Clank games?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lICsBoDeEN0
Yeah sorry about that :P I've been a bit frazzled with some work I needed to get done and didn't really visit the forums for the last 10 days or so.

Lol, I don't know about epic but that Dreamland track is very catchy :) The Ratchet and Clank one on the other hand is awesome, and perhaps because I've never played a Ractchet and Clank game, the music really would fit for me in a sci-fi RTS game like Tiberian sun, CnC3, Dark Reign or Warzone 2100.

algirdexas699: Epic song, you say?

Well, I've got one in mind. It's the original Starcraft's Main Menu Theme. It is so epic, I get goosebumps every time I listen to it...
Listen for yourself!

It's only the best menu in any game ever! Seriously though, I don't know which is the better game between 4 and 5 but whenever I find myself on Civ IV's menu I feel compelled to admit that that Civ IV is the best civ game of them all. Away from the menu though, I really don't know. The religion aspect of civ 5 seems to be a bit excessively implemented though. But on the other hand there are the social policies, which are great :P

The Rachet and Clank games are awesome. They combine Shooter/Platformer/ and Action/Adventure elements in one beautifully humorous cartoony sci fi world. This game will always make you smile.

In rival with the Jak and Daxtar games I find the Rachet games better from a Gameplay persective While Jak (well perticularly 2 and 3) are great from a story perspective.

I didn't put that one because I already included too many fan works (they tend to outperform the "pros" IMHO). But I tend to like this version better:

I link them alot, but if anyone doesn't know of them these YouTube artists are very high quality and focus quite a bit on games (Peter Hollens, Malukah, Taylor Davis, and Lindsey Stirling). You can find Legend of Zelda, Halo, Skyrim, Mass Effect and more on their channels.

Yes, this is it! Uhh... Such an awesome soundtrack! For some reason my comment doesn't show the link. Oh well, good you found it yourself! And most importantly, enjoyed it! B]
Wow, so many songs that I want to hear for that epic mood, definitely favorited this topic to come back to it.

I noticed someone mentioned 21 days later's theme. Another work of John Murphy's music I liked was from Sunshine. It almost sounds like something from the Halo series but it fit well with the movie when I saw it. I also really liked Pacific Rim's theme music, really good stuff for me at least, good workout music anyway. Finally, another epic song not many know about that I like is from Juno Reactor featured in The Matrix Revolutions called Navras, sort of long (and in a different language than english) but I enjoyed listening to the majority of it.

Game wise, most things in the Halo series such as their theme music sound epic to me. One particular track I enjoy listening to is called Earth City from the Halo 2 soundtrack.

*If any of these were posted before me, I apologize.

Here are the youtube links to sample them (can't post links for some reason so I gave the extension, just add after the .com in youtube):

John Murphy- Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor)

Ramin Djawadi (Pacific Rim)- Pacific Rim Theme

Juno Reactor (The Matrix Revolutions)- Navras

Martin O'Donnell (Halo 2) - Earth City

Edit: Ignore, tested something. :P

Lord of the Rings
Castlevania is pretty famous for it's awesome music. One of my favourites: Leon's Theme

Silent Hill had some great music as well. I avoided those games for the longest time because I thought they were mindless gory horror games, but I picked up 2 on a whim and was greeted with this: Theme of Laura
That theme alone made me know I was in for a great experience.

Also the normal battle music from FFVIII is more epic than most other games' Boss music: Don't Be Afraid

good old Nerevar Rising, the main OST from TES III: Morrowind. made by jeremy soule

The road most travelled, also from Morrowind

I always get this one while travelling through Vvardenfell, mostly when in the west gash, ascadian isles or grazelands.
It fits well.

Sacred (later renamed to sacred worlds) from Blind Guardian. OST from Sacred 2 Fallen Angel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCFKRhEv_IM
they also did the battle music.

and someone already mentioned believe from The Witcher, which is in my opinion pretty epic too.

Lol, yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. Admittedly I had played the beginning of Silent Hill 2 on a friend's PS2 at some point but still, I thought it's just a typical horror game with lots of gore and many jump scares. Eventually I saw Silent Hill 2 and 3 for PC in stores cheap and decided to grab them, still expecting them to be nothing more than ghost stories with anime influences. Oh God, how wrong I was... and dat music...
