Cardan - Half Orc Berserker

BURRRRRRRRRP make Ogres crispy if get in way! Hard to see now but Cardan remembers where to go, saw halfling friend next to big portal, Cardan go that way, and hears voice of shaman friend ahead. Cardan uses Greataxe to chop Ogre in front of me's legs and push it out of Cardan's way, and follows shaman friend's voice in front of me to portal. When Cardan reaches the six Orcs, Cardan has good idea because of little shaman friend: Cardan will tell them he and friends is part of Orc Mother horde and to let him pass into portal because Orc Mother said Cardan and friends can go. If they let Cardan go with no problem, Cardan will jump into portal, but if they try to stop Cardan, Cardan will belch fire at them
46 - Gold - Goblin Ranger
Having watched the horde pass me, I try very carefully to get through this thick fog and get as close as possible to the portal.
I must make my previous post more precise:

if I can "curse" the fog with sleep, I cast entangle on the priests.
If I cannot, I cast entangle on who is more dangerous at the moment and sleep on the others.
If I can cast only one spell, it will be entangle on those who can most easily impede my escape.

In any case, I'm running through that portal, that is the absolute priority!

Current Situation:

3 TURNS LEFT TO ESCAPE

Cookpot Room:
Tridris, the Lich, casts Doom Scarabs at Raybur. Raybur is devoured by the scarabs leaving nothing -- he is dead. The Lich then casts invisibility on herself and goes into the room with the Double Wooden Doors. Calad, Valius, Thelis, and Franziskan find a trap door and drop into it. Inside is a narrow tunnel that heads north.

Double Wooden Door Room:
Tridris and Pater Alf arrives in this room and see an approaching horde coming for them.

Orc Breeding Room (Orczilla! Boss Fight):
Godbran casts invisibility on himself and makes a break for the portal. He trips and bumps his head. He is now partially visible. With a lot of hollering the six orcs jump up, a sacrifice appearing in front of them, one grabs Godbran's foot. Fognino sounds the alarm to the horde that intruders are on their way to kill the Brood Mother. Orczilla lets out a shrill call, then the Horde roars as one and charges for the wooden doors. Orczilla noticed that Fognino stole her treasure and growls while squeezing two Ogres out of her rear-end. Fognino makes his escape by casting Fog and sending his Fire Elemental to deal with the Orcs. Cardan tries to walk toward the portal in the fog but is blocked by an ogre. Cardan belches fire in his face causing him to turn away clasping his scorched eyes. Gold pretends to be one of the horde and they run right past him. Gold turns back to where Orczilla's head is peering around above thick fog. Garethianopolisian arrives in this room.

11 - Enebias - Fognino - Goblin Shaman -- ( Summoned Fire Elemental )
1.We are almost there. The exit is near.
"Cardan, follow me close, we rush to the exit and my senses are sharper. We are almost out! I will try to slow down anyone who hinders us, I can help in navigating the fog but I'm defenseless against those hill-sized shit-piles".
Based on who is more dangerous at the moment, Fognino casts Entangle on either the Orc Priests or the newborn Ogres.
If some extra time for casting remains he'll also cast sleep, but only if he can clearly see the targets.
In case a combo is possible (I have no idea if I can do this) I'd try to mix sleep and fog, making a nice magis sleepy mist.

I cast Divine Retaliation on me and Ball of Holy Light down the narrow tunnel. It's a dice roll but who knows what it could hit? And I start moving forward with the rest of the team

12 - te_lanus - Garethianopolisian - Half Orc Ranger
Runs ahead into the Orckins slashing at them with his Dwarven Waraxe.

31 - blastradius - Valius - Elven Battlemage -- ( Invisible )
Valius quickly and quietly moves forward up the tunnel north, following the glow of Ball of Holy Light that the cleric unleashed, watching carefully for enemies that may appear and being careful not to step on any traps or suspicious-looking tiles.

23 - BranjoHello - Godbran Helloburger - Halfling Thief -- ( Invisible Partially )
I grab my my new love, my precious, my blackjack and teleport into the mirror.
If it's not possible to teleport while someone holds you by the leg (which one would presume probable) the following actions are taken:
1. I take the magical knife from my free boot (the one no one is holding onto) and stab it into the hand holding my other leg to make both my feet available to go where they please once again.
2. My super awesome blackjack in hand I teleport into the portal (a very cool move by itself if I may boldly add xD) and give the Orc Priests a wave from the other side.

17 - Trid - Tridris - Drow Necromancer -- LICH -- ( Death Armour, Magic Shield, Reflect Spells, Reflect Missiles, Summoned Silver Sword, Invisibility )
If there is 100% chance that I can stand somewhere and I wont be trampled by them I'm using it, if not I'm casting Levitate and again Invisibility (If it turned off) and levitate over them.

62 - ariaspi - Thelis - Human Ranger
1. True, I have no magical items or spells, but I'll go in front the group and look for traps or anything suspicious.
2.62 - Thelis - Human Ranger puts on his finger the Ring of Charm Monster received from Calad.

18 - Cavalary - Calad - Elf Mage -- ( Reflect Spells, Levitate )
Studying the found rings, Calad keeps the ring dropping boulders (Any name for the spell Doc? Going with Boulder Smash now, for the time being...) and offers the one charming the target to whoever wants it. With nothing offensive bar the Wand of Acid Arrows, that ring may yet be handy, but have Charm Monster as spell too anyway. Then he casts See Invisibility and Levitate and makes haste after his companions, watching for anything revealed by the Ball of Holy Light. Even if tunnel's not tall, feel better to have feet at least a bit off the floor, while still making sure not to hit ceiling. And a simple Light might have been more handy now, but maybe something will be invisible. Or maybe we will be, so handy then as well.

6 - PaterAlf - Pater Alf - Half Orc Warrior
Me don't really know what to do. Me is alone and can't fight the horde. Can't run away either (they are too many and would get me). So me tries to act like I'm part of the part of the horde that is protecting and caring for the Orcish Brood Mother.
If me is successful and the horde passes without getting suspicious, me slowly tries to move to the portal without disturbing or annoying anyone.

Eastern tunnel:

11 - Fognino - Goblin Shaman with Cardan following, you rush for the exit. A head are 6 orc priests advancing on the Halfling.
*rolls dice* You cast Entangle *rolls dice* vines emerge from the ground to grab and hold in place the orcs *rolls dice* Godbran Helloburger is also grabbed by the vines.
*rolls dice* An Ogre comes out of the fog, bearing down on you as you approach the portal *rolls dice* as you turn to face the threat Cardan emerges from behind and belches fire into the Ogres face sending it running away screaming.
Cardan looks very happy with himself.
*rolls dice* picking your way through the orcs, you enter the portal and exit on the other side. You look around, to your right is a path leading up into hills that are flanked by thick forests. On your left is the coast and straight ahead in the distance is a seaport. You strain your eyes to see the banners flying there and smile when you recognise it as the smugglers outpost Al'zabeir.
You have escaped.

12 - Garethianopolisian - Half Orc Ranger with a grin and a loud war-cry, you charge into the horde slashing with your axe as you go.
You are initially greeted with confused looks as you *rolls dice* behead a passing goblin *rolls dice* then crush the chest of a passing orc. *rolls dice* An Ogre brings a club down *rolls dice* but you duck aside before hamstringing it.
*rolls dice* A spear pierces your side *rolls dice* you swing your axe back to connect with a goblins face.
*rolls dice* The world goes dark as a HobGoblin smashes in the back of your head with a rusty mace.

12 - Garethianopolisian - Half Orc Ranger is dead.

23 - Godbran Helloburger - Halfling Thief *rolls dice* as the Orcs advance, you reach into your boot and pull out your magic knife. You stab the orc holding your foot *rolls dice* causing him to let go. *rolls dice* Vines emerge from the ground entangling the orcs and yourself. You let out a frustrated scream as you realise that you cannot teleport through the portal while you are entangled.

8 - Cardan - Half Orc Berserker you follow your little shaman friends voice and emerge from the fog to see an Ogre about to squash him. *rolls dice* You belch fire into the Ogres face causing it to run away screaming.
You follow the shaman to the portal *rolls dice* and grab your halfling friend, yanking him through the portal with you.
You have escaped.

23 - Godbran Helloburger - Halfling Thief you are grabbed by Cardan as he runs past and dragged through the portal, leaving your boot (and some skin) behind.
You have escaped.

6 - Pater Alf - Half Orc Warrior you see Garethianopolisian go down fighting, a grin on his face. You are a smart Half Orc and don't intend to do the same.
*rolls dice* Seeing how angry the horde are by your companions actions, you mimic their stomping and hollering while edging yourself towards the portal. *rolls dice*
As you approach Orczilla she starts screeching at you and pointing towards the portal where you see some of your companions escaping.
Some of the horde are starting to head back towards the portal, alerted by Orczilla's noise.

46 - Gold - Goblin Ranger *rolls dice* you let Cardan and Fognino clear a path for you and follow them through the portal.
You have escaped.

17 - Tridris - Drow Necromancer *rolls dice* you cast levitate and rise above the horde. The spell cancels your invisibility *rolls dice* several orckin see you levitating above and flee in panic. You recast Invisibility on yourself and head towards the portal.

18 - Calad - Elf Mage hands the Charm ring to Thelis.

44 - Franziskan - Human Cleric casts Divine Retaliation on yourself. You cast Ball of Holy Light down the narrow tunnel which lights up an unremarkable looking passageway. With the group you make your way to the end of the tunnel and push up on a trapdoor above your head.
It crashes open *rolls dice* there is a startled cry and a spear jabs down at you but is deflected away by your Globe of Protection. Looking around you see mounds of treasure around a giant slug/orc thing on your right.
On your left is a glowing portal. Several orcs and goblins are around the trapdoor entrance, some panicked by your appearing there, others scanning above looking for something. You see Pater Alf moving towards the portal, trying to blend in.

31 - Valius - Elven Battlemage you move with the group to the end of the tunnel to a trapdoor exit at the end. Looking out (wincing at the spear being deflected away) you see the same as Franziskan above.

62 - Thelis - Human Ranger you thank Calad for the ring and move to the end of the tunnel with the group. You see the same as Franziskan above.

18 - Calad - Elf Mage you cast See Invisibility and Levitate (causing you to bump your head) on yourself. You move with the group to the end of the tunnel and see what Franziskan does above. Additionally you can see what some of the orcs are looking for in the air - the Lich Tridris is levitating towards the portal.
Fognino, Goblin Shaman

waits for a moment, breathing the fresh air. He almost forgot how pleasant it could be, but then again, the dungeon didn't leave much time to think about anything but survival.
Luck wants he is already next to a smuggling cove where he could dump the loot.

"Well" he says to Cardan and Godbran, "you two are certainly adventurers worthy of your name. I don't know what the future holds, but I wouldn't mind starting an enterprise with you two. I'll certainly need at least a bodyguard to go back to the tribe. By the way, now that we're out... does anyone know why the hell we woke up in that dungeon in the first place? The last thing I remember is me taking a du..."

All of a sudden, he turns his back, notices Gold and, thinking he is one of Orczilla's minions, launchinh a surprised shriek he instintively sends a quick poke of his magic staff towards him.

Also, he seeks if there is any trace of the portal.
If there is, he uses dispel magic on it or tries to crush any breakable part with his high quality mace. No way he'll get caught now! None shall follow!

OBJECTION, YOUR HONORABLE DM! According to D&D Law, Tome of Wizards, Chapter of Spellcasting, recasting Invisibility needs concentration so it breaks the Levitate spell, so Tridris falls like a feather into Orczilla's arms:D
With the portal safe to remain open, after spotting Tridris attempting to levitate invisibly through, Calad smirks wickedly, quickly whispers something to his companions and staying behind his companions and inside the Globe of Protection a moment longer, he uses the Ring of Boulder Smash to drop a huge boulder on Tridris, well before the Lich gets above the trapdoor. The very next instant, not waiting for the outcome, he uses his Ring of Teleportation to teleport through the portal.
Since the Ring of Teleportation allows instant teleporting to any place he can see, and the portal allows seeing through to safety, no need to spend another second in here. It may be interesting to see what the boulder did, also considering Orczilla may be underneath it as well, and/or that it may at least block the way of some other enemies to his companions, offering them better chances, but safety first, so the rings will be used immediately one after the other, teleporting to safety immediately after dropping the boulder.

May say something like shit, the Lich has a head start if I get a chance without delaying the teleportation, as if while the Ring activates or something. Otherwise, safety first or we may all end up stuck here.

Cool, but I think the game ends for a character after they escape, they can't take more actions like destroying the portal

Hm, good point. Had a somewhat different action plan in mind in that case. But still, better safe than sorry.

Edit: That said, while escape and safety are the priorities, the above action plan was based entirely on Fognino's sabotage attempt, so if there can be no further action taken after escaping and the portal is safe from sabotage, may revise it.

I don't know about that, but last time I argued with DM my character ended up in the pit hole with spikes. :P

Anyway...

17 - Tridris - Lich
Casted Death Armour at turn 15, Magic Shield/Reflect Spells/Reflect Missiles at turn 16. Invisibility and Levitate at turn 18.

I'm levitating to the portal so I can exit... If my Invisibility will somehow be broken (even be me) and I have time I will cast Mirror Image. Now...
1. If there are still vines on my way and they can get me through my Invisibility I'm casting a Meteor Strike on them to burn them ( I heard it will work).
2. If I get attacked be someone I'm casting Web and Grave Mist on/near him...
3. If I somehow get mixed in someone else spell I'm getting angry and look point 2.
4. If I somehow got surrender by other things or blocked from the portal by monsters I'm casting Wail of the Banshee so I can get through, if it's not enough I'm using Summon Monster/Raise Corpse and using them as a meat shield so I can get through.
5. [*] just to be sure.


Whatever happens leaving this place is my priority, I didn't went through all this hard work to get the artifact just to stay here forever.

Well, it's too easy to just fly invisible into the portal. You deserve it of course for playing good, but things could be made for a more interesting finale:)
