It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

muntdefems: Hoooooooowever, the flipside of that completely hands-off policy is that developers and publishers have total control over what you can download from your Humble library, without needing any supervision or control from Humble's part. So whenever you find an outdated DRM-free build there, just completely bypass Humble support and go straight to the dev/pub. Most of the time I've gotten the desired update in a matter of hours (if not minutes).
I also want to share my experience with Humble Bundle.
Their library could be sorting with latest updates, and could show only for a specific OS.
They provide easy-to-find checksums for almost all their files.
While I also encountered little bugs at their system, I still think it is much more reliable than GOG's.

For games I owned, some of them have faster updates at Humble Bundle, and some others have faster updates at GOG.

Beware with that. In my experience, the "recently updated" sorting option is only reliable when selected in conjunction with a specific OS. If you select "all" platforms instead, you may be missing some updates.

I opened a support ticket a long time ago and got nowhere, as their incompetent 'support ninjas' didn't even understand what the problem was, nor did they understand what does the "recently updated" sorting option do. At one point, they even tried to convince me that if I buy a game from the Humble Store, that game should appear at the top of the list if sorted by "recently updated" even though the game had never received an update, or had received one 5 years ago...

I had a lot of fun surfing to my song library in Audiosurf:

SirPrimalform: A word of warning about the "DRM-free" part of Humble Store.

muntdefems: All you said is 100% totes true. If you think GOG is bad at getting recent updates, at least they seem to try, whereas Humble doesn't move a frigging finger.

True, but it also means if you get a dev that says "just use the Steam version" then you basically have no recourse as Humble surely won't stand up for you. At least on GOG there's no Steam key so devs feel more obligation to update (and there's the possibility of GOG contacting them if GOG support keeps getting complaints).

I'm afraid that if a dev doesn't want to update a game you're screwed either way, here or on Humble. But yeah, I agree that there's a slightly higher chance of success with GOG than with Humble if you ever find in such a situation.
I was going to hype up the DRM-free title "Gravity Ghost", only to find it's no longer for sale on the Humble Store. Tragic. What a great little game.

But yeh, Humble has big problems with updating DRM-free builds.

And I've also had a DRM-free build get yanked from my account. Demanded and received a refund.

There's still a Humble Widget in their website, though.

Yeah exactly. Since there's no Steam key for the devs to use as an excuse, fewer devs will do that here than they will do it on the Humble Store. Still, we did have the Armello and Gremlins Inc situations...
Does anyone own Hegemomy's 3 expansion The Eagle King on Humble Bundle, so that may confirm there is really a DRM-free build available?

I bought Starward Rogue's expansion AuGMENTED in the past, but there was no DRM-free build available as advertised, just a Steam code for which I have no interest. I had to ask refund for that and Humble Bundle completed my request.

I like that, too - matching the checksum after downloading sets my mind at ease. And I like that BitTorrent is a download option.

I'm using:

qBittorrent &
WinMD5Free

for my downloads from Humble.

Any reason why you wouldn't be using RapidCRC? I'm just curious, as I have been using it for years.

Because I've never heard of RapidCRC... until now! I'll check it out. WinMD5Free is free and super-lightweight, and I'm quite satisfied with it, but I'm open to alternatives - thanks for the tip.

I've also never heard of WinMD5Free. RapidCRC is known by everybody that watches anime, since it used by all the encoding groups to check their releases.

I've used both, but since RapidCRC supports batches and offers a wider array of hashing algorithms, you really can't compare the two. RapidCRC is a Swiss army knife, while WinMD5Free is a toothpick.
