Hold your breath and it will pass.
If your favorite genre is Racing, then no.

I understand why GOG and other digital stores cannot get most old racing games here because of licensed cars, but we don't even have one racing simulator like Assetto Corsa here and we still don't have many racing games without licensed cars like Split/Second.

Even on bigger digital stores they still don't interest me because the racing game genre has gone downhill after 2014.

Well, here's one just now.
I've added more give-away titles to my account than ones I've bought. I don't buy from steam so in one respect I'm saving money by not having games I want released here, however bring Civ 5 and several others here and the Fry meme "take my money" would be appropriate.
Pretty disappointed that it's highly unlikely that we will be getting more Sony AAA games (god of war, horizon zero dawn). I don't blame gog for that though, I think that's more on sony's end. Also I don't think I've bought a new release here this year either, so I guess technically the answer is no.

Overall I still shop here a good amount for the sales and have a pretty large wishlist, so I'm still satisfied with gog

Somewhat, but I really wish there were more AAA releases.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some older/semi-older Bethesda games showing up here but also some high profile Steam games that seem to be DRM-free like Ascension.
I would also like to see more releases that interest me. For example, "Stray", "Kena", "Atomic Heart", "Signalis", "Selaco" or "Dead Island" or more Sony games and many more.

However, there were a lot of interesting games for me this year:

Drova - Forsaken Kin
Outcast - A New Beginning
SKALD: Against the Black Priory
ROGUE-FP

Hello Neighbor 2
The Talos Principle 2
Atlas Fallen - Reign of Sands
The Citadel
Kona II - Brume
Sprawl

Darkest Dungeon II
Tails of Iron
The Chant
Scars Above
Floodland
God of War
As Dusk Falls

Fort Solis
RoboCop - Rogue City
Clash - Artifacts of Chaos
Ad Infinitum
Sniper - Ghost Warrior Contracts 2

... and a lot of indie games

I didn't buy all of them (only the ones in bold and one of them was a gift), because I'm still waiting for a bigger discount, but I'm happy with the offer.

Otherwise, I agree with you, there could be more games that people have been waiting for for so long and I'm also hoping for great Christmas releases, but that's not just down to GOG.

Thanks for the list! I see GOG did release some games I'm interested in, indeed. Although I think most or even all are available elsewhere as well. It's great that GOG has them too, but unless you're in the "GOG only" crowd, it doesn't make the releases all that special. The ironic thing is that even though I don't like store exclusives (at least not when they're intentionally withhold from other stores), they do draw more attention.

Unless I'm mistaken, GOG also released the original Resident Evil games this year, didn't they? They're not my favorite genre, but that got my attention.

I'm more into old/classic games, and I think GOG is doing OK in that front.

However, there are a lot of absent newer titles that would interest me.
Titles like:

Animal Well
UFO 50 (and Spelunky 2)
Arco
Balatro
Betrayal At Club Low (that's a 2022 game)
and probably many others

Absolutely, how could I have forgotten? :-)

Obviously almost all games that get a GOG release, are released also on Steam. Many of them long before they are released on GOG.

From my point of view, the whole point of GOG (or at least 90% of it) is what GOG offers with those games over the Steam or Epic versions:

***drum roll***

DRM-free offline installers! (and the ability to also download those installers effortlessly, albeit that requires a third-party tool)

So yeah, at least for me that is pretty much the only reason why I prefer buying my games on GOG, and not on those other stores. Not sure what your reason would be, or do you even have any reason to buy on GOG.

Certainly GOG occasionally gets e.g. some oldie that doesn't at least instantly get a Steam release (I guess Resident Evil games are one example), but those games tend to be quite rare nowadays. I guess normally Steam gets the very same Nightdive etc. remakes that GOG does, almost the only GOG-exclusives are the rare games where GOG has a big part with the re-release, like Resident Evil games or I presume the Warcraft bundle that is now pulled away.

I'm happy as Larry .... no not that Larry.

Personally, GOG seem to do enough to keep me interested and buying ... sometimes my wallet wishes they were less good.

But I guess it is all down to how flexible your tastes are and what you want from games.

My main gripe now, and it has been so for a while, is the pricing of many games. While a good number are certainly quite cheap, there has been a paradigm shift in the last two or three years, and the amount on my wishlist can attest to that.

That said, I still seem to find enough to buy every week, sometimes a bit longer sometimes less.

So honestly, I'm not suffering ... and have plenty of games at GOG now, mostly unplayed ... and that isn't counting all the free games I've gotten elsewhere, and a few I've paid for elsewhere ... mostly at ZOOM Platform and Humble, plus a few cheap bundles at Itch.io.

What one does or doesn't like game wise, can really be quite subjective. I like a lot of old games, many still not here, but then I also like a lot of Indie type games or newer AA and even sometimes AAA. Variety to me is the spice of life, and there seems to be plenty of that here at GOG.

One category I don't really bother with much, is the soft porn here. I will grab if free, but that's about it.

I guess you could describe me as a Mood Player.

Quake is still my favorite game, and keeps me grounded. But I also like so many other types, that my wallet keeps complaining ... not that I spend a lot on any one game.
From my this year purchases all are on GoG for longer period of time, except for Resident Evil Bundle. Apart from that I still have 102 games on my wishlist, but I do not have so much time to play games any more, from this reason it does not bother me so much (backlog is big as well). On the other hand there are some games which would be instabuy for me and which I would like to play again (or in some cases for the first time ecer). Namely Age of Empires + The Rise of Rome, Brány Skeldalu: 7 mágů, Claw (Captain Claw), Dungeon Master II, Ecstatica, May Payne, Nocturne and Small Soldiers: Squad Commander. From games which were (maybe) never released on PC, I would consider following exactly same way Clock Tower: The First Fear, Clock Tower 3, remaining Silent Hill games and Shadow of the Colossus.

Moreover I would be happier if less indie games would appear here.

I feel exactly the same. For some time now, they have not only been trying to fleece customers with their DLC policy, but have also been gradually increasing prices significantly. This is particularly noticeable with AA and AAA.

But are GOG's prices higher for the same games, compared to Steam or other stores? Even if they are, I'm not sure it's fair to expect GOG to win on price, against a monopolistic behemoth that can probably afford to undercut everyone else in the market.
