LordCephy: People need to stop acting like GOG libraries are magically the absolute most vulnerable thing in existence. You are allowed to download the offline installers and back them up. You can install the game through Galaxy and copy the game folder to back the game up that way too. This isn't Steam, where you're technically violating an EULA for backing up games you buy.

lupineshadow: The OP is pretending to do this, not many people are worried about this.

Don't feed the trolls, you are adding to the problem.
I think you're misreading the exchange. I was agreeing with someone else that having a DRM-free cloud library for movies would be nice, then someone else comes along and goes BAD! My reply to person going BAD was that it's really not hard to back things up.

At no point did I ever reply to thread OP directly.

You should.

He likes it when people waste their time on his threads.

He only stops when people call him out on it.

I do not see the point in the OP.
Extrictly, physical Boxes and Manuals aside, the real game, the program inside a DVD or CD, was also a digital product. Ones and zeros.

Why don't you talk to OP?

He's still too busy creating his own GPU from scratch in his garage.

I think what we have here is a misunderstanding of what I meant. All I said was state the fact that a GPU is a physical object, thus I should be able to replicate it.

The Sun and moon are physical objects, will you be replicating those too ?.

That sounds like more reason to not talk to OP directly, since he's too busy making replicant GPUs. Although when the replicants get out of hand we found ourselves living in Blade Runner world, we'll know who to blame.
I do feel like I own my GOG games. I can take the offline versions and copy them (still DRM free) as many times as I want onto discs, thumb drives, the cloud, my email, other hard drives etc.

Hence why it is so beloved by pirates, nobody can track who sent the installers to the pirates.

Most of my friends all in a group (not me) just buy one game each a year and send it to all the others, that way everyone can play all the hottest games without breaking the bank.

Of course certain games never hit GOG.

***Disclaimer- Piracy is illegal in the United States and many other jurisdictions. Please pay the companies like good boys and girls.

No need to be like this. I have done no ill.

Could you please reapond to my previous reply?
I do, yes. Not sure how much further I can elaborate.

Could you respond to mine? And Spellsword's? Because you tried to derail your own thread trolling.

avatar
TheNamelessOne_PL: So do you guys think I can enjoy my GOG collection with full conscience? Without any feeling of guilt/regret?
avatar
SpellSword: Sorry, I don't follow what you are trying to say. Why guilt?

Hey. I believe I had a reply written, but it didn't send. I am sorry. This is a genuine mistake.

I believe I wanted to ask you if you agreed with me? You said just what I had said. Ownership is not really a well-defined concept. As such, I am not sure I can say with 100% of certainty that I "own" any games.
it beats 'owning' games on any other digital platform.
