I'm partial to a well made tiramisu.

Also, not too long ago, I had a pretty awesome dessert in a restaurant in London. I believe it was called a treacle sponge with custard.

But the best dessert I've ever had was 23 years ago, in a small restaurant halfway up a mountain in southern France. I have no idea what the dish is called, but it was a sort of almond/pear pudding. I still fantasize about that sometimes, in the sad knowledge that I'll probably never have it again.

As you can see in the Wikipedia article I linked Sachertorte is basically a chocolate sponge cake with a thin layer of apricot jam in the middle covered in chocolate icing and is often served with whipped cream. I don't know why, but I love tiramisu cake.

I also greatly enjoy a certain all-white plain sweet Korean rice cake.
