All this happened in private messaging.

I requested of Finkleroy to be able to get March's give-way quotas, as the reason I made the request for March's quotes a few hours off, was for reasons beyond my control. I also mentioned that I have use for the keys I give-away myself to the give-away and if turned down, I will donate less to compensate for the lost Steam keys. Not as a punishment, but as a simple practical matter. I said this is why it would be reasonable for me to be allowed this mild exception to the rules, but feel free to say "no".

In return Finkleroy said the following insulting things (condensed for length as Fink used alot more words than this)
That I believe I am "entitled" to special treatment.
Implied I believe I am the center of the universe.
That I was "threatening the community" (by saying I'd give away a few less keys for April)
In general saying I had a bad attitude.

I really don't like the insulting way you talked to me. None of what you said about me is true. May I please get an apology?
I recognize you don't have to recognize the way you're talking to me is horrible. So triple down on the insults, and basically being banned from the give-away for me requesting an apology for being deeply insulted.

And I'd continue this in private but Finkleroy blocked me. If I were able to say this in private, I'd say "We could drop this but would you please reconsider this ban." Because, like how am I suppose to know I'm risking being banned for asking for an apology? But I'd ignore the horrible insults if it meant not being banned.

So I take this to public opinion, maybe someone else can get Finkleroy to recognize they REALLY mistreated me for no reason. Also a way to deliver a message to Finkleroy considering I've been blocked in private.(assuming there isn't some settings that cause my threads and posts to be invisible to Finkleroy, is there such a mechanism?)

Finkleroy is a great guy doing the community a service at the expense of his own free time (and, as evidenced above, his sanity) by keeping the Community Giveaway running. Whatever he rules there is not up for dispute and being butthurt about it and doing your dirty laundry in public is not appreciated. Neither is trying to turn the community against Finkleroy, thought that is so ridiculous it's hard to even get mad about it.

"doing the community a service" is not relevant to the topic.

My complaint is about being insulted and being banned (presumably forever) for asking for an apology.
It's mostly about the presumable eternal ban as I can live without an apology, even though I was deeply insulted and there was no call for my being treated like that, no matter how "grateful the community is".
You want to characterize that as "butthurt", well how crude and juvenile of you. Also with you using your term like that, it lacks any real meaning.

I was banned for asking for an apology for some very nasty insults against me. Asking people to apologize is not against any rules that I am aware of.

I don't have a horse in this race and don't really care for drama, but the fact you only quoted Finkleroy's last message and paraphrased your own makes me think you're trying to hide something about the way the exchange went. Perhaps you weren't quite as nice as you're claiming you were?

So you agree that people who don't want to be permanently banned for asking for an apology after being insulted for no reason, should be dismissed as "butthurt" because Finkleroy should be allowed to treat people how ever they want as it's a tough job to manage the the give-away system? That isn't a unreasonable concern. I might think the same were our roles reversed. On the flip side, if I were to quote and get into every tiny detail we would be getting alot of TLDR (too long didn't read) from everyone else looking at this thread. You tell me some way to give you those details without risking that and I'll do my best.

It's difficult to view the whole case without looking at more evidence and everything un-moderated, but personally I can't see why Finkleroy would do it without having a good reason. I fail to find any "insults".
