Back in the saddle.

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, the tactical gunslinging classic, has recently received an update that brings new content plus several convenient improvements. Here's the rundown:

- Help Cooper, Doc, and Kate save a town from outlaw scumbags in a new mission designed to be the game's demo.
- The game's core technology has been updated to work well on systems running Win 7/8/10.
- Mac and Linux support added!
- Additional language options added: English, French, German, Spanish (both for the demo and main game), Italian, Russian (main game only)

Both Desperados games are now 80% off until July 16th, 5pm UTC. If you haven't tried them yet, go ahead and give them a shot. Or two.
Nice to see Linux support added. Thank you!
Buy this game guys. They aren't making stuff like this anymore.Didn't expect you guys to touch this after almost 17 years but i guess being patient pays off in the end ;p.And once again, thank you THQNordic and GOG for taking care of these old gems ;).Cheers

qoqosz: Are Mac and Linux versions native apps or rather Wineskin wrappers?
Not Wineskin, it looks to be a port. Apparently based on the cross-platform LibSDL.

Sadly, the Mac port is not 64-bit proof.

InkPanther: Neat, Linux version is appreciated.

Edit: Are GOG servers throwing a fit? My download speed is ridiculously low, which never happened before.
(well, maybe i've used a wrong idiom there...)
There was an update to GOG Galaxy today, so I'm sure that might account for a large fraction of the server load.

Don't know about Mac but for Linux 100% Pure native :-)

The game is now using SDL2 and Cinematics have been converted to the OGG video codec. Runs great from the little I tried it.

Everybody's doing it!
If I already have this installed, will I have to uninstall it an reinstall it,or can I update it through Galaxy?

Just watched a bit of a youtube video. Like the setting and it actually seems to have some story to it as well. I guess I will give it a try.
I'm stupid. Saw a message on internet the game got an update to make the game run on modern systems, with a link to the steam version. As it was just 99 cents, I bought it - but I totally forgot to check if the game's on GOG as well. 99 cents wasted on Steam :-(

It should be able to update automatically through Galaxy. This is one of the problems Galaxy was designed to solve.
Nice. Make sure you post about Warhammer Chaos Gate being updated.
Thank you very much THQ Nordic and GOG. Keeping old classics updated is always appreciated!

This is amazing, no longer do I need Dxwnd with mouse lock to make the game run!

Guess I'm playing this this weekend.
