Spectrum_Legacy: Probably will come back eventually as Mikado remix (at least on steam).
Mikado Maniax actually. But yeah, its already pulled on Steam (though steam keys at key shops, like Fanatical, for example are still there, but probably not for long), and the GOG version only has a couple hours left, and I don't see it having a final sale discount. (Since Raiden IV:OK didn't have one either.)

Why is news like this always announced just a few days before?
GOG must know about it for a much longer time.

Up to some months ago, they would post the delisting news 24h before the event, at most, but often only up to 12~18 hours before a game would be delisted. Now, Iirc, most if not all of the recent delisting announcements were posted with a few days to spare. Improvements, I guess?

Tom09LL: announced just a few days before
There were cases when the announcement was posted just a few hours before takedown. Few days is fine. It would be even better if they were making a farewell discount, as a rule.
It just sound stupid to me.
If they know it weeks or months before -which is likely the case - they could tell the community earlier. That would temporarily push the demand of that game and eventually increase the sales figures more compared to a announcement just 2 days before.

Two days are plenty of time to complain about two days being too short for a warning.

Come on ... the game has been in store for years now. People had plenty of time to buy it - also highly discounted. If they were not interested then, then the one reason they want to have it now is that they would miss it otherwise.
I sometimes buy games that are going to be removed, even if I'm not interested in them.

Keyword is "if". As past removals have shown, no, it's not the case.

Also, if there isn't a discount to accompany the removal, the customer could always go "eh, I'll just buy it when it returns. [Insert another game] returned to the store, after all."

They may not be allowed to communicate that in all cases.

But you can follow the speculation thread which often is correct about upcoming delistings and changes:

Sorry but I don't have the time to check all kinds of websites for relevant news every single day of my life.
And it's gone...

What would you do that for?
If it's about not missing the sale, you can put the game on your wishlist and wait for the email telling you that it is on sale.

Or is there a different reason to check the website daily?

Unavailable things are always more attractive.

neumi5694:
GOG is about as quiet as can be with removal warnings.
No news posts on the front page, no warning on the game's page, no emails that a game in your wishlist is being removed, only a post in this broken forum.

I sure hope the only reason this is going is due to an impending release of Raiden III X Mikado...
