Narakir: So you basically said "Whatever I don't care" ?

dewtech: Yes, and everyone should do that.

Everyone knows jews were killed, big boohoo. Other nations got killed too, especially poles, so they know about that shit. I wouldn't put it past them to hate the jews for making a trademark of extermination of their nation, but everyone usually forgets gypsys, poles and slavs.

Yeah yeah, care about misery etc etc, maybe Poles want to take care of ther own country first? Let them fucking be and choose their own path ffs. Everyone is a big commenter everywhere, jesus.
You do realise that what happens in one country affects others too, right? You can't just ignore things like that, unless you want to be... well, ignorant. In this instance the 180 turn that happened in Poland after the election is going to have a big impact on the EU.

mmm, I don't intend to hurt Polish pride (actually If I had to leave Belgium, I would go to Poland, Hungary, etc.) but on the West side, common people and politics don't really care about Poland political whereabouts (it's just taking some "polemics" like this to fill newspapers) as it doesn't really have any weight in the EU balance. It's nothing compared to the upcoming Brexit referendum...

It's not a matter of national pride (belive me, I don't have much if any). Sure, Brexit would be a bigger thing, but still- a relatively stable big country on the EU eastern flank, with a relatively healthy economy and, in the last 8 years, very strong pro-EU, pro-integration standing has done a total 180. It's going to be felt. Of course "common people" don't care, they never do, in any country. They usually don't even care that much about their own country. I'm not saying that people abroad care about Poland, or that Poland is some special case of major world-wide importance. I'm just saying that the "we should not take interest in what other countries are doing, it's none of our business" approach is ignorant, regardless of the country in question.

Yeah, and other countries putting their noses where it doesn't belong and doing stupid aventures is better?
Russia is Syria and Ukraine is good?
US in almost every country in Middle East is good?

Fuck.

You do realise there is a quite a bit of difference between sending troops in, and media coverage, right? You're mixing things up without any rhyme or logic.

Yeah, it's always a worry or concern about what is happening in a country, then suddenly, some fuckers come and "help" you with your problems.

My rhyme is the same as before, we should read and think about what happens in other countries, but before we don't know shit about the other countries culture, habits etc we shouldn't be so quick to judge and "help" them
From the original article:
Prosecutors in Warsaw decided to investigate whether Gross had broken laws prohibiting the defamation of Poland.
Let me get that again ... laws prohibiting the defamation of Poland ?? Holy mother, that's some nutters, there

dewtech: People and certain world powers should stop playing world police. Let every nation and country choose what they want to believe.
Everyone knows the saying that smart people learn from others' mistakes and dumb people only from those they make themselves.
I was just going to post this.

What is wrong with you people?
Either you're democrats (democracy advocates) or you're not, there's no sense on being half-ass democrats who only believe in democracy when a leftist party wins. I'm not christian nor I see myself on the right hand, but I'm extremely TIRED of foreign states trying to fix up another country. In case you don't know, that's what has been going extremely wrong since 2001, and let's better not talk about Cold War and the neutral countries.
The Americans indeed are crying about this right here at the moment with both that lunatic Trump (as I truly believe he lacks of any kind of ideology, he's not even a libertarian) or the socialist Sanders, as they both represent a CALL FOR SOVEREIGNTY in the whole end.
They're just saying they can't be held responsible of the world problems, one of them rejecting to impose their politics outside it's borders and the other one rejecting illegal foreigners.

Like it or not, PiS clearly won the elections and now, as many modern democracies, it has been given a full 4 year ticket to rule however they want. You can argue about that no being so democrat, and then I'll agree and I'll tell you:
Why didn't you vote for a party that had on it's program to depoliticize the state institutions, include half-a-year referendums like in Switzerland, or to just ensure or enforce on your constitution the democratic values that you believe on?

I don't know how Poland exactly works, but man, I can tell you that when you give a party a 51.5% of the votes (ABSOLUTE MAJORITY), you're giving them a free ticket to either fuck up your country by not attending to any claim from their opposition or to fix what needs to be fixed.

I'm not going to leave my opinion on PiS nor Poland actual situation, I'll just say that is not something I do PERSONALLY like. Now, I'm a Spaniard, not a Polish, nor I'm currently living in Poland, so... I may yell whatever I want, but is the POLISH PEOPLE who needs to decide it's future, and if you have a problem with that... then you're the one who has a big problem with democracy, not them.

THIS THIS THIS. Another person tired of people having pink glasses and trying to fix and make everything the same in the world

You seem to fail to grasp the fact that being given the mandate to rule is not the same as being exempt from criticism. And that criticising the ruling party's decisions, is in not an attack on the legitimacy of their democratic mandate to rule.

Of course it's not exempt from criticism. You have the right to criticize it and so do I, I just find lame, anti-democratic and poor all the media attempts and yelling about how the European Union and others should take measures against the Polish government.

My motto is: yell whatever you want and ask for a censure motion/early elections whenever you want (as a polish or rightful citizen living in Poland), just, please, keep external measures outside of it or then don't act in the name of democracy, as you're going against it.

But hey, I don't ask you to agree with me, I'm the kind of guy who would finish the embargo with North Korea, not because I do think they're a legitimate government (we're clearly talking about a dictatorship), but because I think it's the right thing to do and, at the same time, the best strike you can give to the almighty leader's paradise on the long run. Time will tell, but I would adventure myself and say that Cuba is going to change five times more (for "good", on our westerner eyes) on the following years than on this whole decades of embargo.

At this moment it's nothing decided, but I fully support stipping the honor of Mr. Gross

Darvond - I don't know how it works in the US, but I doubt that you'd honor the person who hates the US.

The circumstances depend. Does he hate the politicians, the people, the concept? Those can be negotiated, asked about, understood and promptly ignored because we're all Homo Sapiens. At the end of the day, we're one species who should be working toward a common goal rather than squabbling over petty things.

Well if Poland wants to be a part of the EU they have to accept to agree to some common principles with the rest or just leave, same goes with the rest, that's why my country didn't joined and we aren't crying everytime Europe judge us. Now in the grand scheme of things, can Europeans expect to continue to exist in a global world while living in their own countries cocoon, that's a different matter. Switzerland has to be everyone's bitch and make "compromises" all the time, because we go on our own terms.
