Paraharaha: Good News and Thank you.

Why do i not get the blue dot in my library or am i the only one?
I checked it - patch and offline installers for v1.2 are there.
No, you are not the only one, I have asked this question before somewhere but did not get any answers..

Ah, ok. So that must be something at Gogs end missing. Fine, thank you, appreciate. :-)

Apropos Gog: now that i have the third time in a row the permanent purple dot, i guess i receive my price?
What is it? What about some fine and exclusive cyberpunk accessoire, maybe a purple fedora that can sing "Purple Rain" from Prince?
I think i deserve this as i am the master of my browser console. Pressing F12 now, inserting code from outer space.

The permanent purple dot is not a bug. It's a feature (TM). Also, you're not the only one with it. I have it too, right on top of the forum next to Community and as the name suggests, it is permanent.

If this is your way in saying that you want also a price...forget about it, i was first. I want my singing fedora! ;-)

Allright. You'll get your singing fedora. Good luck with stealth while wearing it (of course you won't be able to remove it or stop it from singing!)

Wait what!?!! The Patch I downloaded wants 374 GB of space!!! WHY!? I cannot install the patch now. I thought maybe it wants to uncompress some stuff, so I actually moved stuff around to have that kind of space on the drive the patch is stored, but NO!
So what's the solution here?
Attachments:
I am looking at the offline installers and it says there is file #1 - 20 of 27, but the last 7 are not displayed. I seem to be missing a bunch of 4gb files!

Where are they?

Bell icon, upper right. Right click, clear all (notifications), removes it.

There is the option of installing the patched version from scratch, as it has been suggested in this thread.
- The downloaded file for the patch.
- The uncompressed patch.
- The changes in

The patch needs some temporary extra space for uncompressing before making changes to the installed game.

This is exactly what I was looking for, I haven't installed the game yet and I'd rather avoid all the heavyweight patching if at all possible, thanks choom

Fomalhaut30: If you're using the offline installer patches, you actually need ~383gb of space. Not kidding in the least. The patcher won't let me update without that much free space. Why? Who the hell knows at this point.
avatar
Mori_Yuki: The reason why demand for free temporary disk space is so high is that files have to be extracted and re-packed. Like it or not there is no way around it other than wiping your old game and installing a fully patched version. Maybe you got to wait some time more until it becomes available if it hasn't been released by now.
I just KNEW I had to wait until they patched the game again, and in fact I did. So if I install the game now it will come already patched? That' s great news there
avatar
eRe4s3r: 4 months, and now we are beta testing the update process too it seems... oh well.
avatar
Lifthrasil: Well, isn't that to be expected? Upon release Cyberpunk was in Early Access or alpha state. Now they are slowly moving to the beta phase. Anyone impatient enough to buy the game already, is voluntarily beta-tester. Everyone knows this by now. So don't be surprised that a beta test is a beta test.
begrudgingly have to agree, but you know, this is GOG, people didnt' expected to come off this way. I bought the game just a week ago, they promised a big-ass patch soon and I gave them faith, and here I am. I'll wait another week or something and then if reports say the patch works fine I'll install the thing, I really don't wanna beta test.

PaladinNO: ...
And no changes to the pedestrian (or driving) AI?
When I honk the horn, rev the engine and drive, even slowly, forward on the sidewalk, I expect people to understand I want to get by and at least try to walk out of the way - half of my NCPD shootouts comes from trying to drive gently away from a quest building and some fool practically stumbles onto my car, triggering a "crime", and it's getting really frustrating.

Especially as NCPD and the automated "crime prevention system" can fire at civilians with no consequences. As it is right now, I am killing every NCPD patrol I see, and not even MaxTac can stand up to my katana.
...
Yeah that is so frustrating. There are even parking spaces on the side of the road in some places in the game, or in parking lots etc. where pedestrians just wander randomly using an algorithm that looks like it was lifted out of an Atari 2600 game.

They went to the trouble to put a car horn function in the game, but didn't spend any time making the horn actually do anything useful except making a honking noise. I don't press the car horn just to hear what it sounds like for shit sake, there is no good reason to ever want to do that just to hear it. I press it to tell pedestrians to GET THE F**K OUT OF THE WAY since they're too dumbass to figure it out from the fact you just got in your car and started the engine and are staring at them with "get out of my way" eyes. Not only that but it feels like the game spawns more pedestrians near you all the time with tendency tilted in favour of walking towards you, so they are always walking in the way in droves, then turn around and come back and stuff. I guess this is that "immersion" of a "living city" because that is what people do in real living cities. Next generation AI or whatever they call it.

So annoying.

They did do an epic pile of critical bug fixes in this patch and enhancements which on paper sound great though so kudos to them for that, and I hope they continue to do so far into the future as well. Hopefully a future patch will make the pedestrian AI better and bring it up to the level of GTA3 or Saints Row 2 or something at least though.

Yeah, the list of things they've fixed in this patch was staggering! I was like "shit, is it THIS much wrong with the game!? :O"

I knew of several of the bugs listed, and many I hadn't encountered. This is my second playthrough (first one as Corpo, this one as Street Kid), and there are 2 specific things I wonder whether they have fixed or not:
- The Defender Light Machine Gun - can mods now be properly added to it.
- Street Kid specific: the moment the fast travel point outside V's apartment became usable, still before the lockdown was lifted, the first fast travel point encountered, outside of El Coyote Cojo bar (mama Welles place) was also available.

And from there, every other fast travel point was also accessible. Unfortunately, Reported Assault quest objects were also present, minus the enemies, so now I cannot complete a few of them because my dumb self looted the boxes/bodies before I should. Found Skippy too, but he didn't talk like he should so I loaded a save and waited until I was supposed to be able to get him.

Still, fun to waltz into the Konpeki Plaza with Jackie, already decked out in legendaries. ^^

Another glitch I've encountered: a certain scene with Panam, where V and her are to switch seats when driving her car after taking out some Raffens. I reloaded an autosave because I missed some of what she was saying, and ended up still sitting in the driver's seat (was supposed to move over automatically) when Panam stepped in. So both V's and Panam's models were botched together, making for the weirdest case of "coming inside a woman" I've ever experienced.

As for the driving AI, yeah, I did see a video comparison of other games and Cyberpunk 2077 - hell, even some LEGO game had better AI, where it at least knew how to "drive around" and obstacle like, say, a human would be able to!

And the horn just makes no sense as it is - the AI uses it frequently, though unlike them, I can actually move. Maybe that's why it's in the game - not for the AI, but for the player...
And about the driving AI - I've stepped into the road without thinking many a time, mostly to find cover from early game enemies, and gotten run over.

Not that the AI knows emergency braking, but as my cyberware sometimes releases an EMP pulse when going low on health, being run over can trigger that and blow up the car - which the game sees as ME being the aggressor, and spawn in NCPD in addition to the enemies I was already running from.
And of course NCPD doesn't care about the other enemies opening fire against me in public...

Well, they said that there would be a version 1.2 with a bunch of larger fixes in 100 days. Here we are about 100 days later, and we're getting a version 1.2 with a bunch of larger fixes. The launch was an indisputable disaster but at least they're serious about sticking to the plan to make things right.

MarkoH01: Since there is a little hope that the guys responsible are watching this thread:

Please do language packs for the offline installer as you did with Witcher 3. Additional 30GB (!) just because of your decision to integrate every language in the offline installer is not acceptacble and not a good idea. Yesterday I was on the brink of buying the game and did not because of this.
We've included all languages in the offline installer of Cyberpunk 2077 because separating them would cause the process in which we create new patches for each version to take longer and delay the offline installers in the long run.

Zimerius: wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

the new cb2077 patch has arrived

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

but serious, I might step back in and give it a go, especially with all those nice tips you've given....

such as, try out every character style before you dedicate yourself to the story ( really, one of the weirdest tips concerning how to play a game i ever received )
Hum, have missed that tip, but it might make sense if one is undecided. At least it might be worth thinking about what to play.

The big difference may be for people who are going to play the game just once and move on to something else, versus those who would like to play with different characters. Compare with The Age of Decadence: the game really wants you to play with the Fighter first, and them with other characters to see different corners of the game. One of the last characters might be one versed in old lore, puny at fighting, so that you actually figure out the stuff that you are handling, and view things in other ways.

Then, in other games, the game offers options, but people tend to gravitate (thing Gauss bell) towards standarized types to get the most of the game in a particular way: in Fallout, many of us ended playing a sort of diplosniper, then found out that many others were doing the same! In Bloodlines, if you want to get the most of conversations, you better get a Ventrue, but the pull towards Ventrue was not as strong as in Fallout, apparently.

Then there is the approach of Dragon Age: Origins: each class has a completely different origin story (great) but afterwards the game remains pretty much the same (please correct me if I am wrong, I did not complete this game).

I wonder what is the approach in Cyberpunk. Is it more like Age of Decadence, each class seeing very different aspects of the city, or like Bloodlines? It might seem that it is the first case.
