As long as they keep the original style of the sequel, I am on board with River City Ransom, I loved that game back in the day.

nijuu: FWIW Valdis Story has been released on Desura. Direct copies from the devs coming soon...
And wow, mere hours later, Volgarr the Viking comes out on Humble.

EDIT: Pardon me, the download isn't up on Humble, but that's Humble's side of things, the development is done and the Kickstarter post mentions his hope that speed runs will be up soon.

EDIT 2: It will officially be released on the 12th, Steam on the 13th.

JudasIscariot: I've highlighted that bit because designing a special mission would take time away from the main game and, as we all know by now, time = money. While the content DOES smack of exclusivity, I think it's only fair to charge for having to design, test, possibly re-design, and ensure that the special mission doesn't just feel like it's thrown in there for the sake of fulfilling a promise. If you're going to put in a special mission you have to ensure that it blends with the entire narrative somehow. I don't know how the designing of a mission goes but I am sure it does take time to do so and do so properly.
Now I do think you're trolling me. Yes, it's perfectly okay to charge thousands of dollars for getting to say what the special mission would be. It's not okay to limit access to playing that mission. Eg a 2k FTL backer got to design the crystal race (which is awesome), and now I get to play it. I don't get to play my purple space lynx dream race instead, because I paid tenbux.

JudasIscariot: Exclusive? Yes but still doesn't take away from the completion of the game.
Uhm.
Uhm.
Wat.
No one plays games to complete them, not even completionists. Otherwise the only game in the universe would be LaZorra's World (go north to win - north! - you win!) People play games for the experience of interacting with the game's content. The more content there is to potentially enhance the experience, the better. (I don't recommend playing PS:T with Leprechaun Annah.) And you can tell the extra content that guy offers is meant to enhance the experience, because he charges money for it.
avatar
JudasIscariot: Also, from an earlier post of yours:

$15 gets you a DRM-free digital copy, a high-res digital poster of the cover art
That sounds like exclusive digital content for those who don't pay the extra money :P Granted, it's only a $9 difference but the principle appears to remain the same.
No, posters are to be sold separately from the artist's site, price to be set by the (like-minded) artist.

Side note: SwiftKey offers to autocomplete "some" with "Euro-Skeptics".

Neo's Land : A New Beginning - High fantasy MMORPG where the community provides content and has a direct say over the development and state of the game.
So let me tell you about The Banner Saga. The kickstarter campaign featured a $50 tier which they promised would get a backer's family crest immortalized in the actual game, to be selectable by other players. TBS got huge exposure and a megaton of backers, so the devs announced they'll be automating the crest submission process.

Then they announce that no, there would be no submissions. Instead, backers of that tier would get a speshul version of the game with the ability to upload any image to use as their crest, everyone else gets the castrated version.

I pm'd them via kickstarter, complaining and politely suggesting a fucking refund (which I didn't get; I'll try again if I don't get a DRM-free copy of the early access release). And guess what? Turns out they had to renege on the submissions because a not-insignificant number of shitstains who pledged for that tier specifically requested to NOT INCLUDE THEIR FUCKING CREST IN THE FUCKING GAME. And the devs had to reward these shitstains with something for their $50, so they chose to ruin both that tier for other backers (by not letting interested folks submit their content for inclusion) and the base game for everyone (by restricting access to an image upload option).
"Not Found

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

On one of comments looks like someone hacked their website lol

I actually dont understand that. Person X pledges at Tier $50 expecting to get x rewards. THEY choose not to take up part of that reward. Why should they get something else??????

The shadowrun returns devs have launched another kickstarter, this time for Golem Arcana, a board game enhanced with a touchscreen tablet/smartphone enabled app and stylus.

This is a bad move, Shadowrun Returns is a very flawed and disappointing game, they should be focusing on expanding and enhancing that game. This crap looks like a big gimmick.

They are already working on the next campaign and they keep fixing bugs. Golem Arcana is unlikely to impact Shadowrun Returns development anyway. It's not a PC game and has a pretty simple mobile software component. Also "very flawed and disappointing" is purely your opinion. Enough people think it's a decent game. It may not be perfect, but a lot of people were happy enough with it.

Can't say I'm all that excited by Golem Arcana (because I'm not that much into miniatures board games), but Jordan Weisman did most of his important work in pen and paper and miniatures, and it's natural for him to go back there.

Except that it's not "purely" my opinion, in my fact I'd say it's the general consensus. SRR was built up and hyped as a good RPG and completely fell short of any and all expectations. Completely on-rails linear campaign, fake dialogue choices which all mostly give the same response, terrible tablet interface, broken character system with useless classes and non-implemented skills. I would say that the only people who SAID they liked it are lying/buyer's remorse, or are not average cRPG players.

These people do not deserve any money until they get their act together and prove they can even make a good game. Cause SRR basically revealed HBS to be incompetent.

You'd have to prove that. Metacritic shows mostly positive reviews from both reviewers and users, and other user rating sites also show generally favourable responses.
