Good morning, folks! I hope you're all doing well! About to catch up on the thread a bit while I finish this coffee.

ddickinson: But on a more serious note, and going back to my original comment. Are "Bull Dykes" super butch German lesbians? :-)
avatar
toxicTom: As Palio said above: that term describes masculine-looking, most (men) would say: unattractive and often "aggressively male hating" homosexual women. There are certainly some of that type, although I don't know any personally. Don't know if it's a German phenomenon. I think there are some old Nazi porn movies (made in Italy) that features characters like that ;-)
As it's impossible to use that term that term without meaning it insulting, I would translate it as homophobic hate speech for 'every lesbian that dares not to hide in the closet', actually.

toxicTom: It's MM.DD.YYYY.

The most useful format is YYYY-MM-DD :-)
What is it with you colonials and continentals. Everyone knows it should be DD-MM-YYYY. :-)

I don't know. German format is DD.MM.YYYY, I guess GOG uses American format.

YYYY-MM-DD (maybe with hh:mm:ss added) is ideal for sorting chronologically (i.e. files or database entries).

Name of month/DD/YYYY
:-)
avatar
ddickinson: Quick question. Does GOG use the US format for the date on the updates change log (MM/DD/YYYY) or the proper correct way that normal people use :-) (DD/MM/YYY)?

Also, is the US format the format other EU nations use, or is it just the US that does month before day?
Hooo, you also use the DD/MM/YYYY format !!! I thought we were the only ones :D

I guess as they have more US customers, and as many places in the world have adopted their date system, then it's a safer bet. Not that it's an issue, I was just curious. Maybe in Poland they use MM-DD-YYYY?

The question is what does France do? If they do it properly (DD-MM-YYY :-p) then you are in so much trouble for using the MM/DD/YYYY format. :-)

Of course not. You French have not destroyed all units of time and measurement just yet. *damn metric system* :-)

Also, Agent uses the US format. That is not very good for a French Agent. :-)

I'm fine with either, as long as the name of the month is written out... I have to mentally count the months to figure out which one is "08", because I always forget that August exists >__o

No getting out of it. You failed the French test and showed you were American. Not very good for an undercover Agent. :-)

Hello there! I hope you're feeling a bit better today. I just read about your experience with that doctor... how appalling! I'd say I'm baffled that he has a license to practice medicine, but I've come across some doctors who have done some really unacceptable things, not just for a professional, but for a human being. I guess it's going to be true of any profession, there's going to be some real assholes. I may not be one to wish harm or punishment on anyone, but I certainly hope he loses his medical license and his job. Holy cow.

Sarge is being so strange this morning. He usually hangs out here in my office/computer room with me in the mornings, but he went into the living room a little while ago. I figured I should just start giving him some freedom around the house, as he's mostly stopped wildly attacking furniture and other things he shouldn't for chew-fests. I just check on him often when he's not nearby... so after about 15 minutes, I went to check on him. He's just relaxing in his kennel out there, on his back, looking up at the ceiling. He's looking all around, as though he sees things I can't. I can't help but to be incredibly amused by the idea that my dog and I both have hallucinations. ;)

I'm about to make another pot of coffee, if anyone needs any!

Apart from the usual stuff I have given myself an even bigger headache due to me staying on the forum for so long. I didn't want to be rude and not respond to people, so I have been forcing myself to stay online for longer.

Dogs can be very strange at times. I hope he is okay and just enjoying his new freedom of the house. No coffee for me, I don't like the stuff. :-)

======

I think I had better call it a day. I have pushed myself too much staying online for so long and I think I will regret it later. But it was nice chatting with you all again. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
