CarrionCrow: It ends up being one incredibly samey cave exploration after another after another after another.
The towns have no feeling of life to them, just the same recycled crap.
AgentBirdnest: That kinda sums up why I couldn't get into the game. I think I gave it a fair chance (20 hours,) but I just couldn't get into it.
To me, it felt like the whole world just lacked heart and soul. Everything seemed samey, and it just didn't feel very "alive" to me.
This doesn't make any sense, but I'm going to say it anyway - I felt like I was playing a video game that was made by developers. I don't like that feeling.
That's a very good way of putting it - soulless. They had big ambitions, but ended up with a transparent simulation.
EndreWhiteMane: I'm sitting here in my robe with a space heater on my feet shivering uncontrollably, which probably isn't good.
You guys lost me about an hour ago with your way over my head rpg talk so I think I'll retire to my nice warm bed for while. See ya all a bit later. ;)
No, I'd say that's actually rather unpleasant rather than good.
Get some sleep, get to feeling better. =)
j0ekerr: Well it's past midnight, which makes it finally the 22nd and that means two things.
One: The 22nd is, for me at least, the starting pistol shot for Christmas, it's the day of the traditional christmas lottery, which is kind of a
very big deal, and the first christmas event of importance.
Which means that in the spirit of giving I'll be doing a small giveaway myself, check the thread and spread the word.
Two: The 22nd is also the final date of the
stealth sales in xbox llive (seriously, if I hadn't checked major nelson's blog, I wouldn't know they're having a sale at all). And the last day Dark Souls 2 will be half price.
Which means... decisions, decisions...
No clue about what kind of lottery you're speaking of.
Giveaways are always appreciated. Sure you'll make someone happy for their end of the year what-not. =)
As for Dark Souls 2....would say do console if you think the machine will hold up and not fall apart on you or something before you can finish.
If you get it for PC and can't run it, then your coin's been burned with nothing to show for it til you get an upgrade.
