CarrionCrow: But the industry keeps growing, so the same old thing will be the dominant attitude. It's going to take GOG years of continued growth to eventually be able to stand toe to toe with the competition.
ddickinson: Do you think GOG will last that long? I feel that the more they compromise their quality of service (such as the quality of the games they accept, the quality of their customer service (which is getting worse), their lack of communication on the forum over matters, such as the Caribbean game), the less respect they will get and the more valued customers will leave. Yes they may attract more Steam customers, but as GOG's quality slips, they will just go back to Steam, where games are often a lot cheaper.
adaliabooks: Don't beat yourself up :)
You did have a tricky role, especially for your first game. I think you held your own pretty well, you just need a bit more practice :)
ddickinson: I spend a few nights (game nights) talking with Flub about different combinations. But each one could easily damage Town. It's a shame I was not Scum, then I could have had some fun with it all. :-)
I honestly don't know. Their selection process is definitely slipping at times, and they really need to get more staff to cover support problems.
Hopefully the expansion to a U.S.-based office will give them access to the resources they're not getting in Poland.
As long as it's DRM-free, I'll be around. Kinda fond of actually owning what I pay for.
Will there be bumps in the road? Absolutely. They're having one right now, getting to deal with a region ban, and there will be a lot more as Galaxy gets closer to implementation.
I'll be hedging my video game bets with a console purchase by the end of the year, if not a whole lot sooner.
Combine that with getting my wishlist to zero by the end of the year as well, and I'll be able to say I'm up to date for picking GOG's catalog down to the bone.
Region locks don't affect me, and neither do regional prices. I don't agree with them, but my say means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Needless to say, I'll be keeping my items up to date and backed up, just in case. ;)
CarrionCrow: Right now, it's continuing Bastion, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (needed a second to even remember the title, that one's leaving such an impression), slogging my way through Anomaly 2 so I can start the final push to clearing the series, more of Nihilumbra, and starting a replay of Dawn of War 2 so I can do the Chaos run of Chaos Rising, leading to the 6 runs of Retribution needed to call that entire series dead.
And some more Super Meat Boy in between since I'm continuing to make glacial-speed progress in 100 percenting that one.
Two godsdamned hours to find a single bandage. I looked, and I looked, and I looked.
Know where it was? There's a level where there's a wall of spinning blades coming at you. You have to outrun them, make the jumps, clear the stage before they hit.
In that wall, I finally noticed a tiny gap, just large enough to jump through.
Fucking bandage was on the other side of the blade wall.
Such a love/hate relationship with that game...
How about you? =)
EndreWhiteMane: I've been taking my hostilities out on the snow today mostly. :-)
Been playing a couple of little indies call Morningstar and Pioneers Beta.
Sunless Sea later on if I'm awake.
If you get bored and want something to make your brain hurt, check online for an item called Fool's Errand.
It's an old, massive puzzle game that's freeware straight from the creator.
