akhliber: A big mood day doesn't sound half bad. I'll keep to my small doses until the time seems right for a switch.
In the mean time, some coffee. The one thing I'll currently make an exception on the "small doses" rule for. ;)

ddickinson: Fair enough, we wouldn't want to push you into a big mood day when you are still all set for a small mood day. :-)

Quick question for you: I know that you have mentioned before that you enjoy playing games with your partner, but can you recall any of the other regulars here mentioning they have someone to play local-coop with?
Apologies for the delay, got distracted and then next thing I knew I was spending the morning out back with the pup. :)
I honestly can't think of anyone else other than you who has mentioned having someone to play couch co-op with. But I'll also so that I'm almost certain *someone* has mentioned it on these forums in the past, maybe even in this thread, but that's the best I can remember, sadly. :(
I hope your day is going well!

CarrionCrow: Good morning. =)

Can't complain here, hope your day's starting off well.

Thank you very much for the info regarding the game, it's much appreciated. =)
Mornin'! And you're quite welcome. I've really enjoyed it, but part of that is that I became endeared to it during testing, I think. I just wish they'd include an in-game option to add more skill points so that a character could experience the farming and alchemy and all the other crafting/building skills that can be so useful to any character. They all tie in together and are quite useful, but having to stick to just Magic just so you can also maybe farm and cook or try alchemy is just kind of crappy.

Glad to hear your day is going well, or well enough, anyways. :) Mine's been nice and lazy so far. I'm going to do a bit more rearranging and cleaning today, as my niece is in town and we may have family over here, so I'm trying to make the house a bit more presentable. Otherwise, laziness and coffee and shade from umbrellas, and likely a bit of mobile gaming inspired by the latest Humble mobile bundle. :)
Personally, I'm just excited that they're releasing Obduction twice! ;)

*I'm actually quite excited about Tyranny, but I see Crow's told you all I know about it. :)

It sounds like they didn't adjust skill point progression to account for all the different things they had to offer, leaving people to choose A - don't use non-fighting stuff, B - don't use fighting stuff (yeah right), or C - sucking at both and getting annoyed about it.

Housework...yay. Have some of that to do here as well. Going to wipe it out before it gets painfully hot yet again.

That bundle's pretty good. Had fun with 100000000 and You Must Build A Boat. Started Please Don't Touch Anything yesterday and it looks interesting.
And of course, I'll be able to tell if you're playing Desktop Dungeons by the sound of you screaming. ;)

The one with all the zero's and You Must Build A Boat are the two I plan to play first. And yeesh, Desktop Dungeons is freaking cruel. I've played it on PC a bit. Had a bit of trouble with the controls on my tablet, but I need to give it another shot. I'm touch-screen stupid, so it takes baby steps. I've walked a few since I last tried the game that way, so maybe it's time to try again. ;)
So System Shock's remake is firmly on the way and we have the demo now.

I have to confess I never played the original games.

Have I sinned?

Downloading the demo, but those minimum requirements... what the hell?!
I'm expecting them to be the usual exageration with the developer playing it safe. But hell there's still almost no excuse for demanding a whooping 16 GB of system RAM.

I followed DD's links and took a gander at Obduction.
It looks absolutely gorgeous.
Does anyone know what engine it runs on?

-laughs- Tablets are an incredible pain in the ass. Portability at the cost of at least 75 percent efficiency.
Howdy all, lived through another day of being the big bad boss. :-)
Hope ya'll are doing great or better today.

PS: I want Obduction......NOW!
Edit: List price at launch is $29.99, and [drum roll please] we’re launching on PC, Mac, and Oculus Rift simultaneously [and under our breath - sounding like a cough] on July 26.

Can you not see others' posts on this forum via clicking on their profile or something? I thought this was a feature before? ... (I was just going to put a thoughtful smiley with one eyebrow raised here :D)I thought there were smilies too. Maybe I'm going mad?

Nope, to all our annoyance this never was a feature here. And nope, also no smilies.

Ah, ok. Then, I must be remembering some other forum. I saw something called Barebone Essentials. IIRC, it is a browser add-on. I assume that doesn't help with these features as well, right?

You mean Barefoot Essentials? Well, that adds things like quick reply and post preview. The features you mentioned can't be done by an AddOn, gog would need to change things for that.
Yeah, Barefoot, that one. I remembered it as Barebone LOL. Can you see who rated your post then? I was content just rating your post plus. Then, I thought not replying might be rude. TBH, I'm afraid to post on forums cos disqus doesn't let me post anything. It just deletes my posts. After that I signed up for Mortal Kombat 10's forum. Same thing there. I'm not sure what happened but that made me anxious of posting on the forums about anything. I realised it a week or so ago when I came back to gog forums to post about a game.

I hate Disqus because they don't have any kind of support. If bots ban you for something, you're banned forever. I contacted several mods on MK forum and they couldn't understand what was happening.
Good evening, everyone!

I hope you are all having a lovely evening?

*hugs, waves, and chocolate chip pancakes*

And sorry for the late replies.

CarrionCrow: That's funny. If I hadn't stopped grabbing crap just because it was cheap, I'd have a lot more.

Nothing wrong with that. After a while, you end up squarely in "I'm going to need years to finish all this" territory.
Hell, even with all the crap I have, I know there are people with over a thousand more on top of thousands from Steam who've got me beat silly in the cyberhoarder department.
I have seen a few people mention that Steam users have thousands of games, many more than are even for sale on GOG. I wonder how many were games they actually wanted, or how many were bundle games, or if they get them just for the sake of having more games? I have had a little look at the games on Steam, and I think even if I was to get games on Steam as well, my library would not grow that much, maybe a few dozen games at most.

Ixamyakxim: This one I just heard about in the "Unofficially Confirmed thread" a few days ago and like the sound of it. The screenshots up today make it look fantastic - love the management bits and "text questing" + investigations.

As long as it has gameplay and it's not a TellTale type game wrapped around some fake gameplay I'm pretty sure I'll be in!
How are you liking the no-face art style of the game? It does not look like the usual story based Telltale game, although for some reason it is giving me a clicker feel to it, but I have no idea what I base that on.

No need to be sorry, about the delay or the not knowing. I only asked as I have a spare key for Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes on Steam, and I was trying to find who would be the people to ask. Granted the game is not just a local co-op, it can be played over Skype or things like that, but as I only have one spare key, I figured I would see if any of the gamers who enjoy local co-op might be interested in it.

Maybe I mentioned it twice out of shock that they are another developer trying to own rights to words they did not invent. :-)

Nah you can't see who rated your post, but well, this is the free-for-all talk thread where you can drop in and out whenever you feel like. So I wouldn't have minded if you hadn't posted another reply ;-)

CarrionCrow: Not a problem. =)

Yep. Looking at 18 more presently. It was at 17, but since you mentioned Luckslinger, I took a look, then added it.
Thank you. ;)
9 more besides, but they're more expensive. Odds of picking them up were low to begin with, but with other stuff popping up out of the blue, it probably won't happen.
I am so happy you're going to try Luckslinger! Besides being pretty difficult, it is an amazing game! I love the atmosphere, the music, the gameplay, everything! Let me know how you fair against the first boss. ;) 18 games you may buy, that's a ton! I had to really cut back on which ones I wanted to buy, bought 11.
Hey everybody ;)

So I spent the last hour trying to remember a majorly obscure glam/hair metal band, but I finally found 'em again. The band was named Teeze/Roughhouse.

What was notable about them? Well it WASN'T their originality, I'll tell ya that much, however they were perhaps the worlds best Motley Crue clone! Musically they fit in perfectly with the first few Motley Crue albums and their lead singer legitimately sounds EXACTLY like Vince Neil...as in you could believe that it was Vince's side band if you didn't know any better.

In related ramblings, in the early 90s as "hair metal" was getting tossed to the curb, there was of course the rise of alternative/grunge/etc BUT there was another underground style brewing in L.A., that style being bubblegum rock. Bubblegum Rock is a mix between the more "glam for the sake of being glam" side of 80s rock, 90s punk and pop, creating err...a upbeat glammy poppy punk rock genre. The genre went absolutely nowhere so most recordings are demo quality but I like it quite a bit, so I figured I'd throw together a short intro playlist for anybody interested :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyCfU_O1A2A
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrreEriNDMA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rd_sHB4mno

I guess in my next "bands that went nowhere" ramblings I'll go down the "90s bands that didn't make it that had the street sleaze style that Guns N' Roses and Skid Row had" rabbit hole.
