ddickinson: That sounds like lots of fun. :-)

I did not realise that the English and US English spellings are different for liquorice/licorice until now. Do you prefer the coloured variety over the original black liquorice?

The liquorice roots sticks are not the most popular, so I can understand you not having seen them, or maybe you did and just never noticed, they do just look like sticks after all. But they can be hard to find here, so I would imagine they would also be in the US, except for a few stores that deal with natural food like that. They are not to everyones tastes, but I have always liked them.
Depends on your definition of fun, I think. =)

The black licorice sold here (just as much synthetic crap as the red, I'm sure) is extremely strong. Makes it unpleasant to eat.

I'd probably have to go to an actual city and check a more-organic based food store. Or go to Amazon. They've got pretty much everything.

That is true, and it would seem many of the games you play would not be fun for me. :-)

That is understandable, I think that is why many do not like it and prefer the synthetic kind. I don't mind either, but I guess I tend to go for the more natural kind.

That is probably the case. I would say not to go out of your way to get any, just in case you don't like it.

How are you liking the Staff Picks, seen anything you like that you don't already own?

I figure they wouldn't be fun for lots of people. ;)

I think I'll seek out the natural ones before buying any more of the regular ones. Think I burned out a bit.

No, already have everything I want in that promo. Figuring it'll be mostly a wait until next month, when the big sale happens.

Yes, it takes a brave soul to play some of the games you do to completion. :-)

Are we due another sale next month? We sure seem to have a lot more sales than I remembered last year.

The big summer sale was going at the beginning of June last year. Thinking it'll be in roughly the same timeframe.

Just checked. Steam's sale is set for June 16th this year, so if GOG follows the same thing they did last year, they'll start roughly a week before that.

That makes sense. With my head being the mess it is at the moment I keep forgetting we are already in May and nearly half way through the year. Things sure do seem to be passing fast quickly this year.

I guess we will get bundles made up of games not in the last sale, or maybe a mix of old and new. Are you hoping to get anything special, or just more from your wishlist in general?

Don't be too hard on yourself. That's time for you. It'll drag so every second feels like a month and half, along with feeling like 6 months is a week, simultaneously.

Thinking the tower bundle stuff will all be out. Too soon to do those again. If they do newer stuff, the discounts won't be as heavy. The older stuff's been on sale numerous times. Pick your poison. -laughs-

Not really. The only thing standing out right this second is Starcrawlers, but it's in development. No idea when it'll be done.

It is more me being annoyed at being ill for so long and missing out on lots of stuff I could have been doing all this time. But that can't be helped.

I have noticed a few sales getting less of a discount. I wonder if this is publishers trying to undo some of the sales culture PC gaming has now. Many wait for a big discount, which is good for customers, but not for developers. So maybe this is the publishers trying to get the customers more used to 50% sales, rather than 75%+ sales.

Will you be waiting for it to be done before buying, or just waiting for a good price, finished or not?

That's very understandable. But you won't be feeling badly forever. It's going to fade off and you'll be back to normal.

That wouldn't surprise me. Turning your customers into ravenous sale junkies might look good in the short-term, but it was a stupid thing to perpetuate so completely.

It's an RPG. If I play it before it's fully completed, it'll mess up the experience. Figure I'll grab it at retail when it comes out in full, or grab it early, then sit on it until it's done. Either/or.

I know, I am getting there a little at a time. Hopefully tomorrow I will get some more nice results and things will still be going good.

As much as I like big discounts, I can understand them wanting to try to limit the sales discounts. If I worked hard on a game and saw that it only sold at 75% off and I made very little then it would be disheartening. Of course, many games now are overpriced for what they are, or just not a big priority for people, so it is likely that the big discounts are the only reason they sell. I guess it is knowing which is best. I guess less of a discount is better for more established games, while maybe big discounts might be good for small developers who need the exposure. Maybe if developers put some effort in and made a game that shows their efforts people will be more likely to pay full price.

That makes sense. Hopefully it won't be too long before it is launched so you get to try it out.

Edit: I had better call it a night. I have an appointment with my doctor in the morning so I need to try to get some sleep. Sorry for leaving mid-covnersation, but I am nodding off too much to keep myself awake. Take care, lovely Mr Crow, and have a nice rest of the day.

Will keep fingers crossed that you get good news. =)

It's all a mess, currently. Too much garbage, and it's burying the quality items.
If anything, I think the independents shouldn't cave and drop their prices so incredibly low so quickly. So many people have done that, now an entire range of items has been devalued in the eyes of the consumer base.

I think it'll be done by the end of the year. Not worried about it, so long as it's completed. I have other stuff to do in the meantime.

No need to apologize, D. Have a good night, sleep well.

Son of a bitch...this frigging game refuses to die.

Good thing I'm more stubborn than it is.

A brief little hello to you all. For some reason I made an impulse-buy of Portal Knights on Steam, and though it's still an "early access" title, it's incredibly fun. I just wish it had couch co-op, as it seem like it would be the sort of game that could be fun in multiplayer. Not gamepad friendly yet, but may well be one day. I'm not sure why, but I find it much more approachable than both Minecraft and Terraria, both of which is shares a decent amount of similarities with, I suppose.

Gotta be up super early to go to a medical visit then to visit my folks for the day, and I'm debating on whether I should go ahead and sleep, or maybe just stay up all night enjoying a silly game so I'll be good and sleepy-relaxed tomorrow. Both have their merits.

I'll likely lurk a bit from my tablet tomorrow, but in case I'm not around until the following day, I wish you all well! Take care, lovely Faces of Fred. :)

superstande: Cool! Crow you're almost there! :)

CarrionCrow: I've been playing this, aside from a few breaks, for something like 10 to 12 hours. I've lost count.
I just got through with a level that I'm pretty sure took roughly 500 tries to beat.
My back, shoulders, arms and hands are trying to lock up.
I've barely slept in two and a half days.
I can feel my brain gradually turning to mush inside my skull.

This is fun. ;)
haha... if you say so :)

And sleepy good mornings with dark-roasted coffee for opening eyes!
