Hello, lovely people of the thread! I hope you're all doing well today, or as well as possible.

Working on waking up, contemplating coffee (eventually I'll graduate to getting off my arse and making some) and enjoying a little silence this morning. Pup's still sound asleep, there is a stillness to this morning I'm quite enjoying. The day can start in earnest a little later :)

*big hugs and waves all around*

ddickinson: So you singled her out due to her gender? You mean you deliberately blamed her just because she is a lady? You treated her differently due to her gender? You evil sexist Moomin. *runs off to file a lawsuit against Agent for gender discrimination* :-)

*big silly hug*
Noooo no no! I singled her out because she is Dutch! .. wait, I mean... *closing mouth* :-x

I was going to ask how you are, but Agent beat me to it, so I will save you answering twice. :-)

I knew it, you are racist as well. I always knew there was a reason you never see a non-white Moomin. :-)

Good morning, lovely Agent! *big energy-stealing hug*

He's feeling much better. His main issue the past few days has been that he *knows* he's more than ready to play hard, but he really isn't... so there have been some tantrums and bouts of frustration, which usually end with him huffing and puffing and then lying down with part of a blanket or pillow in his mouth (like a pacifier or something... and he only does this when he's pouty.) It makes me sad to see him frustrated, but it's also nearly impossible not to just think it's the cutest thing ever.

He got to take off his e-collar yesterday, and he's quite pleased about that. It was blue and purple though, so he looked like a little flower. I'm not sure why he'd ever want to take it off. I guess he's big into things like being able to clean himself and see his feet and who knows what other nonsense. ;)

I'm doing quite well myself this morning, thank you! You and DD got me thinking *really* hard about baking something today. I'd been in a somewhat low place for some of the week, but this morning just feels alive and alight in a way I may not have felt in years. Or since my early youth? Not even sure, haha. It's certainly quite nice. I think he's healed up enough that we can step up the play a bit today, so I'm hoping pupster will have a much better day today as well.

Doing okay yourself? (I've read back on the thread a bit, but am also quite flighty, and my short-term memory is all but... wait, what was I saying?) Are you loving Stardew Valley so far? I installed it some time back and started a game but not really, and I'm thinking I may actually start a new game today. Seems like it will be a nice and relaxing way to spend some of the later morning, when he's had his first bout of running around a bit and is ready to curl up in my lap for a nap.

Hello there! *big sleepy-but-content hug*

It's quite a beautiful day. I think it's awesome that you got to go for a run! Going for walks with the pup has become one of my favorite things. I've already lost everything else I picked up with my brain this morning, but I hope you are doing well otherwise! I'm on a cloud somewhat today, so all is lovely on this end. Just need some coffee so my thinking parts will start to move around and do stuff. :)
*and thanks to you and Agent, I've added baking to my plans for the day... just not sure what yet. I have to scan ingredients to see what could be possible and (hopefully) fun/delicious.

Hello! *big wide away hug* :-)

The day is not too bad here either, with a lovely cold breeze. I am doing good for the most part, thank you. A bit of a mixed week, but since yesterday evening I have been feeling a lot better for some reason. I hope you and Sarge will have a lovely relaxing day. Do you have anything special in mind to bake, or will you just wait and see what you can make with the ingredients you have?

How are you liking the weekend/Star Wars sales?

Ho, cool! Glad to hear he finally got to remove his flower costume ;-) Hopefully he keeps recovering nicely, and won't be frustrated much longer *big hug for you and the little guy*

And good to hear you're feeling more alive today. If you feel like you could do some baking, I'd say roll with it an give it a try :-) I can only speak for myself - it's been effective at keeping my mood a bit higher lately when I do it. I guess we'll need to start an official Baking Club with badges :-p ... but in any case, I hope you will continue feeling that way for the rest of the day.

I'm doing pretty well. Some ups and downs through the week, but overall, I'm alright. And yeah, I'm loving the living pluck out of Stardew Valley. I've now spent an entire day of my life playing it :-p and I'm not even to "winter" yet. It's a really relaxing, pleasant game. Despite the game looking primitive, it feels so "alive". The little world is full of little details, and townspeople with their own personalities and schedules. You can really feel how much love and hard work the single-person developer put into this game. And as a plus - I found it much easier to learn and get into than something like Terraria :-)

*how strange... re-writing this after my reply window suddenly reloaded and lost my text... new forum bug or I goofed somehow I guess
I went for a short walk late last night, and there was such a lovely cold breeze. Mixed weeks aren't the most exciting, but I'm at least glad you're ending the week on a better note and feeling much better. I've had a slight taste of that on the emotional spectrum this week, but physically, while I've been worsening a bit again, it's decided to become a very slow process this time around, so it's really nothing beyond somewhat-slightly-frustrating at worst. And this morning I feel like I could eat a small town. ;) Should get much better after an upcoming procedure too, and quite honestly this has been the easiest of the "worsening" cycles yet, so that's a pretty good sign. Of what, I haven't a clue, but I don't care much either. It's nice. :)

No clue what to bake yet, and it will depend on what's here at the house, but I'm hoping I'll have all I need to make some kind of bread. I am really craving bread right now. I'm likely an awful cook (my big crush on cooking didn't really happen fully until shortly after I became physically ill and couldn't eat solid food myself, but it seemed like a nice way to stay connected to food, and to have something nice for the lady when she got home from work. As she'd be extra-exhausted, she'd appreciate whatever I made, but as a result I don't exactly have a very accurate, or unbiased, gauge of just how bad my cooking is. But it's always fun, and today I plan to take whatever I've baked and transfer it to my face. Hongry. :)

I picked up Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, as it looks really interesting, but otherwise I think i have all the Star Wars games I'd enjoy and be able to successfully play. I'm awful at space shooters, so when I do play something like that I'll go for something very new so I can at least hope for smoother controls and a UI that isn't too dated for me to make sense of. There are a few adventure games I don't have that look interesting, but then, I have a bunch of adventure games I haven't played yet sitting on my shelf, so I don't think I need to pick any up. In another few months, another sale, perhaps I'll change my mind about that. How about yourself? Anything you're excited about?

So I managed to get a case against you, and to make it fair, I chose a Moomin judge to pass sentence. But be warned, this is a British Moomin, and our judges are a little different than yours. :-)

Thank you, and I hope that you would start to pick up soon, especially after your procedure, which I hope will go very well. *big good luck and feel better soon hug*

Bread sounds nice, I have always liked the smell of freshly baked bread. I love backing and cooking for my partner, and I am sure your partner will be happy with what ever surprise you have baked for her when she gets home. Hopefully it will turn out as you hoped and be very yummy bread.

Nothing for me, from either sale. I have what I need from the weekend sale, and I have the one Star Wars game (the RTS game based on the Age of Empires 2 engine). I am not really a big fan of Star Wars, and that is probably why the other games just don't really appeal to me too much. But I know we have a lot of nerds here, so it is nice to have the games here and the sale for them. :-)

Cooking really is uplifting for some reason. Or for a lot of them, I don't rightly know. It's just nice and always makes me feel better.

Glad to hear you're doing well overall. Sometimes weeks of ups and downs strike me as frustrating, but when they end on an up, it always makes it much easier to feel like the high points far outweighed the low ones. I'd imagine the things you create with paper help as well. I miss photography and writing for that reason. I have no justification for not writing like I used to, just excuses. Photography I just kind of fade into and out of, and it depends a lot on how active my life is at the time, how much I'm getting out of the house and such. But just having a creative outlet can do wonders in terms of general spirits and outlook.

You just sold me on Stardew Valley for what I'll be playing today. I got pulled away after less than a half hour the one time I gave it a try, which really wasn't enough time to have any clue what the game would be like. But it also seemed really easy to pick up and learn from what I did see. My concern was that it would lack depth, but it sounds like that's not the case. I'm not looking for exciting action gameplay today, but a little alternate world to explore and grow things and meet folks in sounds pretty perfect, especially if really well done. :)

I pictures it as you if you ever joined the police. :-)

I do do that. I sometimes look through my shelf and see games and just pause and think "when the did I buy that? o_O". I guess we get sale drunk and just buy games that we forget about, maybe in bundles?

That RTS game actually looks really cool, if only it were a TBS instead. I'm downright awful at RTS games, though occasionally I've really enjoyed them. I suppose Dungeons 2 counts as an RTS, and I have a lot of tun with that game, but I also have to take a break every time the stress builds too much. I'm pretty much the same way with real life, especially socially. If real life had a real-time-with-pause option at least, I wouldn't be so graceless about everything. ;)

I almost love the smell of bread more than the taste (when it's fresh baked, at least.) But at the same time, there are few things I enjoy the taste of more. Strawberries for sure. They just pretty much win at everything.

Not a Star Wars fan?? haha. I'm actually somewhat baffled by just how popular they've become. I'm a fan of (some of) the movies, but can't quite figure out why they seem to have become for movies what the Beatles were for popular music.

Thanks for the well wishes! It's a very simple procedure and will involve a guaranteed very-good-nap, so I'm quite looking forward to it. Though I think it's safe to say the lady isn't looking forward to me having another Propofol nap, as any anesthesia seems to have the odd side-effect of making me absolutely manic for a good 3-4 days after I wake from it, and it's a special breed of mania that only happens as a result of anesthesia. I come home absolutely driven to tinker with, alter and/or "fix" some likely-randomly-chosen gadget or electronic device/s and spend sleepless days taking things apart that I likely won't be able to put back together once the mania has worn off and I'm not in that headspace anymore. These days she makes sure that, if she can't be off work to supervise me, there is someone else handy to babysit me and keep me out of trouble. :)
Whew, it's pretty warm today. I'd planned to do some work on my thesis, but between the heat and my headache I think I'll just leave it for tomorrow.

How are you all doing? Looking forward to the weekend?
Good afternoon, lovely people of the thread!

*big hugs*

Just poking my head in today. Time to take advantage of the nice weather.
