CarrionCrow: The Silverlight plug-in on my Firefox keeps crashing. I think it needs Windows updates to get it working properly again. It's not a huge thing, Netflix has times where it doesn't want to work as it should.

When in doubt, try bigger guns. Just about always works with video games. ;)
I see...huh i tried in Chrome because i actually don't plan on installing silverlight...but isn't Netlfix change to HTML5 (which tends be also flawed in FF...at least i have huge de-sync problems with 1080p60 youtube videos now and again)?

Can't afford them currently ;)

ddickinson: I thought you Americans lived on sugar and salt and things like that? :-)
Yeah and they procreate through cell division, that's the only explanation...

:-D

l0rdtr3k: I'll also try a run on Nethack later or maybe just read Steel Ball Run.
Sound nice. I can't say I have really heard of any of those things.

ElTerprise: Good evening DD *big return hug*
Indeed. After a quite lenghty working day i enjoyed resting the last hours (with alcohol and games ^^)

How is your evening?
Good evening!

What is it with you Germans and your drinking. The worst thing is you don't even do it right. Everyone knows you are supposed to drink pints, not bloody litres. :-)

What game are you playing?

My evening was great, thank you. *return hug*

CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

The physical illness sucks massively, but I'm glad to see that your attitude isn't bad because of it.
Good evening, Mr Crow!

Are you doing well?

It does indeed. But I had a little good news with my test results. Not as good as we had hoped, and still not out of the danger zone just yet, but some signs of improvement, so hopefully that is a great sign. But I still have lots to keep me happy, namely the love of my life. I doubt there i anything that life can throw at me that will really get me down as long as I have her. Today has not really been a great day with my health stuff, but a lovely evening has made sure that there is no sign of me being sad about it.

ddickinson: I have only really watched them when I was younger and my brothers watched them. I have seen bits of everything up to Voyager, but not the newer series or the movies. I have always found the fans a bit strange. not the average fan, but those that seem obsessed with the show. A bit like Star Wars fans. I don't understand such fanaticism for shows and movies that are actually quite flawed. No offence intended to the Star Wars and Star Trek nerds we have here. :-)
It's actually really similar. I don't know if you've ever watched "The Big bang Theory", but they sum it up quite well.

... and Firefly will never be cancelled.....

robospongie: I got a lot of vinyl figurines in the mail today ! Including my 2nd anime desktop set ( First being Creamy Mami figurines and now Doraemon & Friends figurines )
avatar
ddickinson: So old kids shows and vinyl figures. It sounds like you have had a nice day. :-)
Yeah !!! My vinyl figurines are on my big figurine shelf !

*hug with both arms*
*big hug with all four arms*

ElTerprise: But isn't that a general problem with - wouldn't say fanatical - fans of such franchises?
Damn, it seems I have annoyed one of the nerds. :-)

I know, I guess I am basing it on the fact of all the Star Wars nerds and being sick of hearing about all the new Star Wars film. I can't wait for it to be all over and forgotten. You are right about fans that are to fanatical, and they are found in every area, not just the Star War and Star Trek franchises.

avatar
toxicTom: Thanks for the fingers... I really do not not know what I should hope for. On the one hand my wife really wants to work, and we could really use the extra money (with my salary alone we live hand to mouth, really). On the other hand the kids suffer less attention and the place is falling in ruins (we're not really used to be both working).
And on one hand my wife is getting more lively and inspired each day she works, on the other hand she's worn out anbd tired and impatient when she comes home.
I can understand that. Would a part time job work well? That would allow her to work and to spend more time with your kids?

avatar
pimpmonkey2382.313: I'm a fanatic in some sense but mostly when it comes to just watching, reading the novels, and playing the PC and pen and paper games. But I won't stand out in line to watch a new one in the winter or some craziness like that. I'd rather just watch at home than prove my fanboyishness in long ass lines. :P
I mean no offence with my comment. I know most fans are normal, but some are really strange and over attached to the series. The same with Star Wars, just look at the overreaction to the upcoming movie and games.

I never knew that. Is that why they seem to reproduce so quickly? :-)

I can't say I have. I am not really a bit TV watcher these days, or movies for that matter. I have not even seen Firefly, or really know what it is about. I have heard the name, but that is about it.

Four arms? You wouldn't happen to have fought in a Mortal Kombat tournament? ô__ô

pimpmonkey2382.313: None taken. :) *hugs!*
I think the Next Generation was probably the best i could remember. Deep Space Nine did not really make sense to me, and Voyager was really not that good from what I can remember. But it has been years since I last saw any of them, so I could be remembering them wrong.
We have an obvious case of America envy going on here so I'll just say:

Buy Stick of Truth, it has a kid that looks just like Mr Spock!
You know? The Brilliant and Logical Mr Spock, from Star Trek!
:-)

Original and next gen were probably my favorites. I did like DS9, but it wasn't as fun as the previous two series, though trials and tribble-ations was a damned fun DS9 episode, so was any of the mirror universe DS9 episodes. Voyager and enterprise though...those were quite horrible IMO.

Well I do have a nice toned tummy like she does (although maybe not as muscly defined). :-)

But think about it. You have two arms, I have two arms. The last I looked that makes 4. Unless you Americans are now changing maths like you do with spellings. :-)

*big silly hug*

P.S. This is the only version of the character I have played. Back on the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis I think it was called in the USA).

Well depends on what kind of pint you're referring to - but i could use the term Schoppen for half a litre to use non-metric units ;)
Plus i thought we were supposed to drink lütt un lütt :P (not that i tried that yet)...

I'm currently playing Rebel Galaxy ... really enjoyable game with a fantastic soundtrack :D

Glad to hear that :)
