Stilton: You HAVE to get headphones, really. A dark room, the game glowing on you and the sound up close is amazingly immersive. You'll be missing out on some serious fun, honestly. When I started using them the games were so much better, horror games in particular.
Seconded! You truly need a pair of headphones. I'd argue that you need a pair of *good* headphones, as it's just another world of awesome, but quite honestly, you just need a pair of headphones. Even some really cheap headphones, hell, even earbuds that come with an ipod... just the mere separation of the left and right channels, especially when playing a game in the dark late at night, can add a level of immersion you'd never expect. More than worth it. :)

EndreWhiteMane: Evening all, the site is sort of working for me.
Hope everyone who's left awake is doing good or better.
I'm my usual OK self tonight.

What's this I hear about a 'pirate' RPG Boxer Dog man? :-)
Hi, Endre. Haven't seen you all day - been doing anything nice?

pimpmonkey2382.313: *hugs everyone*

Stilton: Hello! How are you doing? Its rare we meet, it seems - its 2am here and my pillow awaits...
Still a bit sick, and also a bit drowsy from medicine. But doing well overall, and yourself? :)

Ixamyakxim: LOL I lied a "bit" but Rogue Galaxy looks a TON like a pirate RPG (though I think lacking a character / persona to level) set in space. But from everything I've seen it looks like the gameplay will essentially be the ship to ship combat of Assassin's Creed, done with a starship in a fairly open world.

Not exactly the later Sea Dogs games I've been hoping hoping hoping for, but I think a bit of space opera with some similar stuff might tickle my fancy nicely.
I pretty much got what you meant but Rogue Galaxy or Rebel Galaxy? I want that one myself.

Stilton: I remember the Canada trip. I took an Amtrak from New York to Toronto, a twelve hour trip, and I was in heaven all the way. Going along the route of the Hudson River the view of the trees on the other bank was incredible. The sky was a perfect cloudless blue, the water like a mirror, and the trees reflected so many colours of autumn it dazzled. I had a camera but I knew keeping the image in my head would be more special. I can still see it. It was the perfect time of year to be there.
Exactly this, thank you for taking the time to express it. I take a similar view when it comes to the camera. At times it's just known the picture won't do nearly as much justice as the memory of the moment.

AgentBirdnest: I'm much more of a wuss, so I'll be celebrating Halloween by playing Costume Quest n__n

akhliber: If it makes you feel any better, my wife and I are going as Princess Leia and Han Solo. If the specifics help more, she's going to be Han Solo, and I'll be Princess Leia. I kind of feel sorry for everyone I know locally. :)

*oh, and hi again, all :) Just now getting back to the thread, a few pages behind... just made some fresh coffee, if anyone would like a cup.
Well, Halloween's supposed to be scary, right? ;-)

And please post a picture!!!

*chagrined* Yes, Rebel. I knew I did it when I typed it, reread it and thought "No, that's it."

Housework and a bit of reading/game-playing.
GOG is not thrilling me much lately so I need a bit of a break from it.
Did buy the Humble weekly bundle for $10.00, the 2 games I wanted out of it normally run $55.00 so I couldn't resist. ;)

Doing OK. Had an ordinary day, went for a walk in the evening and ate a hearty dinner with beer. The walk and the beer were the highlights :-)

Is the medicine a constant, or just till you're on the up?

Just until I'm back to feeling like my old self. :)

As long as the Humble's offer non-Steam games I'm happy. I've got some good stuff from them.

I heard people saying the site was getting really buggy, which is something considering it always seems to have some problem or other. I tried downloading my stuff yesterday and it just wouldn't happen, so I gave it a rest for a while. Pain in the arse. This is our portal - if they screw it up they screw us up. Bad business.

It's always either too early, or too late. -laughs-

Have a good night, sleep well. =)
