CarrionCrow: Oh yeah, it's bad. Watched a Let's Play where the person did absolutely nothing but mindlessly click, fully unaware of every laughable "mechanic", and they still beat it.

Will keep that in mind for any further suggestions. -laughs-

Also, the next way to get Dark Souls 2 will be if you have a PS4 or X-Box 1. They're remastering it, slapping all the DLC for it together in one shot and calling it Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin.

j0ekerr: Dark Souls 2 is down to 20 bucks on xbox live. I'm going to buy it there during the holidays. But just like steam, I will wait to see if they do any sales there as well. Last year they did. Got The Walking Dead at one buck per chapter.

Yes I won't get the DLC, and frankly I don't care.

Well a little, but not enough.
Already know how that'll end for me - buying it for PS4. Of course, by the time I have money saved by that, the price should have dropped by half at the very least. (Seriously need to get this frigging wishlist killed so I can stop compulsing on it and buy other stuff that I want.)

Also, I never believe that second coming hype shit. If we all go by that, every Call of Duty game that comes out will be the second coming. It never is, but gods damn do the marketers go nuts trying to (and sadly, largely managing to) convince people that it is, every single time.

Hrrrm well it's being sold at 15 there. But only for 48 hours.

If I could check that it actually works on my desktop, it'd be a nice middle finger to the console.

Well yes indeed, I don't lend much credence to marketing trash-talk. And that's what all the CoD games are, trash talking dudebro vidyas. But when you see a supposedly independent critic (with a top hat) gushing over a certain game, like a japanese schoolgirl over pigeons. It makes you think that maybe, just maybe said game might not be a steaming pile of hippopotamus dung.

Maybe. Don't mind my cynicism. -laughs- I spent three-quarters of my play time for the Walking Dead screaming for people to die already. Based on that, things designed to tug on the heartstrings just might not work on me.
Good evening everyone !!!
Hum... everyone is maybe a bit excessive :) Where have all the good people gone ?...
Hope you're fine.

[EDIT], ho, well... it seems you're all back while I was writing my screed, heehee :")

LaPtiteBete: Glad your anxiety medication works... Sad to read you're still crying... :( **Big HUG**
Boy, you really live in the middle of nowhere :-\
And... What about getting your driving license ?
avatar
AgentBirdnest: *Big hug*

I am scared to death of driving. Every time I tried to learn, I would just have a panic attack.
I just don't want to drive. It is too stressful for me. My grandma was the same way - she never drove in her entire life.
I understand your point...
Even if it's not my case, I've always wanted to drive ; when I was 3 years old, I used to draw combine harvesters with me driving :D ant a bit later, fire trucks... Fortunately I outgrew that eventually ^^
When I was younger I was petrified when it was about talking to people (even worse, in front of my classmates). I almost fainted, turned red, sweat, my heart was beating far too fast, and I couldn't tell any word. All the time... on every school report there were comments like "I never heard the sound of her voice", that kind of stuff. and I've never managed to surpass that... until I had to give lectures for my work, a few years ago. The first times were horrible, I felt like a child again. Then I realized two things ; 1) I didn't want to be that shy girl anymore, I am NOT a child anymore, and 2) peopple I talk to don't know me, they are NOT my old classmates, they don't know how shy I am... so it was a chance to eventually show them who I wanted to be now, and not who I were in the past... it's a huge work, a daily work, but I consider each speech I make as a bit of experience, an occasion to improve myself. Even if it doesn't go the way I've planned, I try to see them as an opportunity to learn more (about myself, about the others...). about communication. It's my pet hate ; and I need to domesticate it... (I'm still not able to sing "happy birthday" loud, I limp-synch :D hehe)
I don't suffer as much as you do ; I don't try to compare, or minimize your fears. But the fact that you don't feel ready today doesn't mean that you won't be tomorrow... I like the "small steps" method... Each day you settle yourself an objective, even a tiny one. The important is to reach your goals, it improves your self-worth and trust... step by step. At the beiginning, go and ask for directions, for example, was just unthinkable... :-|

Evening all!

What have I missed? I see the shop-that-can't-be-named is having a sale. As I couldn't afford anything in our glorious GoG sale I won't be spending my pennies there...

How is everyone doing?

Good evening. =) Just the usual events of the day, nothing major site-wise. Getting the feeling it's back to normal. Some releases, some light sales, but that's about it.
Getting a laugh making fun of the competition's sale as well. ;)

Supposedly, the one good thing about consoles is that you don't have to worry about underperforming hardware, and the games are less bug-prone thanks to the standarized hardware and no obscure drivers throwing hissy fits. But then you get stuff like the framerrate drop of Ninja Gaiden 2 or the pain of Blighttown in Dark Souls, or the game freezing up suddenly when a huge supermutant is running at me in fallout 3.

So fuck you very much consoles. And if you consider that this last gen are nothing but PCs with a shiny logo on the case, there's even less reason to use them.

The only reason I really have anymore for playing on the console is the big screen of the TV and how comfortable the couch is. If I get a proper chair, the last part becomes moot.

And that's without even going into how useless your game collection will be once the bloody thing breaks down. And it will.

Why don't you hook up your pc to the big tv screen, connect controllers to your pc and do the same from the couch?

Probably because keyboard+mouse is more efficient in many cases and you don't really want to use a gamepad but do it when forced to? :P

Yes, the days of actual simplicity combined with quality (looking at you with longing, Super Nintendo) are long gone.
Now it's wonky hardware, games without optimization, day one patches and a net connection required so developers can (hopefully) fix their games on the fly after you've already paid money for them, along with the now-constant screaming for more money in DLC.

Because I'm not allowed to drill a hole in the wall, and the alternative is being constantly unplugging, moving and plugging the damn box.

Actually I hate keyboard controls. I'm gamepad guy, always have been. My thumbs just have gotten used to them.

That's for action games, RTS, keyboard all the way.

Edit: Besides, a hole large enough to let an hdmi connector pass through would need to be BIG indeed. Do they sell cables with detachable connector heads just for that purpose or something?

There's that too. And the games that are launched towards the end of the consoles' life-cycle look extremely underwhelming when compared to their PC counterparts.

Didn't skyrim have serious performance issues when first launched for the consoles? I heard some talk about that.

A PC that's at least as powerful as a PS3 is quite cheap by now.
Get one with a neat small case (there are REALLY small ones out there), put it in the room with the big screen-> ready to go.

Really first world problems... I don't even have a second room. :D

Hey, hi CarrionCrow :D
I'm fine, thanks !
Even if I can't stop coughing for 5 days now, I have now the same voice than a life-long smoker :D
How about you ? had a nice day ? (ho, wait... it's still day at your home ?) :)

Not a fan of the idea. It's basically wasting money. Spend the substantial (no matter how cheap, it's still quite a bit of money) amount it takes to build a pc, just to play old games on the TV? I prefer to invest that money on upgrading the current box I have.

Well if you speak slow and low. A feminine broken voice can still come out as a husky sexy voice. Like they did to MJ in the spectacular spider-man cartoon. That however was somewhat; confusing, since she was supposed to be 16 in that setting.

I'll be in my bunk.

Yeah, got a bit excited seeing what looked like a new RPG release, but I'm fairly sure I played a free online game in the series and wasn't impressed, so no new wishlist item there.

Just had a delicious dinner and a cup of mulled wine, so feeling a lot more relaxed than I was an hour ago.
