NoNewTaleToTell: A stupid question from a stupid person, but I've been doing a bit of work on a pen and paper RPG and I'm wondering, is it even worth thinking about releasing it commercially?
I'm not honestly not what you would call a big pen and paper player so forgive me if I'm wrong here, but I get the impression that beyond the established franchises and universes (IE: Dungeons and Dragons, World of Darkness, etc) that there is between zero and zero dollars to be made.
I honestly wouldn't have a problem releasing it for free, but I'm going to need to hire an artist because I lack the skill to draw at a professional level, and I wouldn't mind at least being able to recoup those expenses. Maybe releasing it for free and set up a donation thingymajig or a Patreon?
Not that I'm expecting it to be a breakout success, or even mildly successful on any level beyond having a fandom of approximately five people (with three of them being friends), but still...
I'd see if drivethrurpg picks it up.
