Well, here is the thing. If I order them to make you the ruler, and you order them to make me the ruler, what happens? If the follow me and make you the ruler, then they have to then follow tour orders and make me the leader. At which point I will make them make you the leader, and the circle will just continue.

That reminds me of a question I have for you... Is an AK-47 really necessary to defend a farm? My friend's sister lives on a farm, and says it is. It sounds like an excessive amount of firepower to me, but I'm quite clueless about farm life :-p

Regarding Lucas... I'm not too familiar with the "behind the scenes" stuff, but it seems like he had a pretty clear idea about the entire story from very early on... So... I think he is a weirdo :-)

Well America does have a few more predators than England does, but I would think and armour piercing assault rifle might be a bit too much, but we all know how you Americans love your firearms. I guess a regular hunting rifle would be okay, but I do not see why someone would need an assault rifle, but whatever your friend thinks is best. :-)

Even if it was a good choice, we would not be allowed them over here. We have a lot better gun laws that prevent people from owning such weapons.

You do know Lucas stole a lot of the plot from other sources, and judging by the mess that was episodes 1-3, I doubt if he had any idea what he was really doing. Hell, even the original three have some major plot holes and things that make no sense (like the Empire's most elite legion being defeated by teddy bears with sticks and stones). :-)
