I read that now games can be added if they had been installed on your computer before. But only if the setup was not done too long ago. It is probably best just to wait until it is at least in beta phase or finished.

I find it strange the amount of things customers put up with on Steam, but then that is the way the gaming industry is these days. Rather than them adapting to the customers like they used to, they just make the customers adapt to them and their money hungry ways. But none of this will do any real damage to Steam, for the most part the customers seem happy to just keep throwing money at Steam and bad publishers/developers, and as long as they do, the industry will just keep doing all these horrible things.

Someone here played the Stealth Bastard / Stealth Inc games? They look tempting....

Yeah - lot of them don't really care about DRM and only want convenience - what they get from Steam (atleast to some degree)...and not to mention the newest Triple-A games...

Yeah, not too bad thank you. Just been working largely, with a side order of SW Rebellion earlier before we went out. It took a bit of getting into, and it's interface hasn't exactly aged well but it's a lot of fun :)

Also finding myself slightly addicted to the free to play match 3 pokemon game on my 3DS 0_o

I won't play the third with my mum. It is a too long game and it is not much fun to play real RPGs with huge breaks in between. She'll play it on her own. And I probably sometime later on, once I find out if I need to upgrade my computer to run it properly :D

My plans for the weekend are nothing special. Usual cleaning and then reading and playing Witcher 2, now that I managed to decide on a game to play :D

I understand the appeal for people, and although I have issues with Steam, I have no problem with people using Steam. I just kinda wish that people had voted with their wallets when all the bad practices started, and not just keep throwing money at publishers and companies that are just getting worse and just turning gaming into a money harvesting machine. Even AAA developers now hardly put any real effort into their games, as they know people will still keep pre-ordering (I also never understand the logic of pre-ordering a digital game) and giving them money.

I'm curious if they keep the voice actors from the second one or if they choose new ones, which would be the fourth cast of voice actors in the Witcher games if I'm not mistaken...

For me preordering means, that I trust the company to deliver a great game and that I want to show my support to them even before the game is published.
Which means that I almost never preorder. Last game was Risen 3. And before Risen 2 :D

(I don't count Witcher 3 here, since while it is in my account it was my mum who wants it and payed for it)

Perhaps that is how they are going to get us all, just send us an email tempting us to try it. Then once you try it, you are theirs forever. :-)

Are you able to try multiplayer freely with the alpha, or is it just the launcher and game management aspects for now with the occasional multiplayer event?
