I just got some games & I have no idea how to find & play them. HELP !!!!!!!!

moonshineshadow: *welcome wave* How are you today? The Wednesday picure is so cute, I like it!
I'm fairly well, thank you. Your week though sounds like it can't be over quick enough. Anything or anyone you'd like us to take care of? ;-) ;-)

avatar
ElTerprise: Moin. Still the same as my bachelor's: Geography :).
I got that, I'm asking if you're going to focus/ specialise in anything in particular - geography is a very wide field.

ZenWan: Hi to you, glad to hear how happy you're sounding. Crow has certainly made a lot of people happy since yesterday!

Hope you have a great day.
Well, lots of thoughtfulness and generosity is shown towards many good people; I'd need to be an callous arse for such demonstration of care to not lift me up.

And totally agree with Endre, it's always nice to see you around.

avatar
CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

Nah, I'm just a person who gets to hang out with a lot of good people.

Hopefully things are decent on your end at the very least today, with less grief and garbage.
If I didn't know better, I'd think you're fishing for compliments. ;-P

Well, the mandatory dealings with bureaucracy are for the moment over, It'll take about five working days before I know how much the state wants from me this time. And to think that Ii made the last payment of a similar tax only last month.

Oh well, whatever is to happen will happen, won't stress about it before I have to deal with it. :-)

ddickinson: [...]

You did accept a gift recently. There was also another gift you refused to accept, and I am not referring to Fist Puncher. But at least now know that if I gift a big game, you will be too shocked to refuse. :-)

I was leaning towards the black more, but I do like some of the red dresses I saw. But I will go for black, especially as my aim is not to stand out too much while I am there.

[...]
Hey DD, glad to hear you're somewhat better.

Please help me, out my memory is not so good any more. What other gift did I refuse?

And good choice, glad you listened to us. :-P
avatar
CarrionCrow: Hopefully that penalty can be avoided. Not sure how much it'd be, but penalties in general are bad.

-laughs- Sounds like a good plan. Pick and choose, prioritize what you want most right now. =)

Probably better that you didn't try it at work. If the info on GOG's right, that's a pretty big game size-wise.
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: The size would be OK, it's a commercial account.
However, the SysAdmin set a 'no personal files' rule.
And guess who that is? :-)

Now: About your top 5?
Um...the guy who knows a shitload about computer stuff? Just a guess...-laughs-

I've actually been working on that. You've seen my list, it's a bit on the messy and insane side.
Have been resorting to a notepad file to prioritize.
Okay...looking at my typed up more in-depth list, the first items that are priority would be -

Battle Chess
Desktop Dungeons Goatperson
Die by the Sword
In Cold Blood
Starflight 1 & 2

The games should be in your account:
https://www.gog.com/account

There you can download them if you click on the games and then on the installers (check if the gog downloader is set to off if you want to download with the browser, or to on if you have the gog downloader installed).

DBTS is a super pain in the ass. You have been warned.
avatar
moonshineshadow: I'll sure try it out soon! (not during Eastern since my mum already planned the menu and I can't mess that up) :D
As for chiles I can here buy fresh red ones, and I often dry some of them for later use. They should work well for this :-)
avatar
ZenWan: Of course, any chiles would do, fresh or dried, I like it very hot but that's just a matter of choice. It's good no matter how hot or mild it is.

I'm sure your mum's Easter food will be delicious - hope you have a wonderful time with the family. :-)

Been trying to post this for ages, I'm so bad at editing.

avatar
EndreWhiteMane: He certainly has, he's a great guy.
And as for you I've been +'ing all of your posts, as I'm sure many have, for being so helpful to people.
You've been a great addition to our little (!) forum as have many of the other newcomers.
Crow started a good thing here! :-)

Oops! I thought he was asleep. :-)
avatar
ZenWan: Couldn't agree more about Crow, he's been so helpful and kind - and thank you for your kind words to me, I'm very grateful, and, of course for the +'s. :-)

This is really a happy little forum, thanks to all the great people who post here. And now you've gone and woken Crow up and we can't talk about him any more. ;-)
Don't feel too badly. I've lost count of how many times I've been to close out a reply and start over after I messed up an edit so it wouldn't go through.

Basics:
1. Go to your game library and click on the game cover.
2. Download the installer for your operating system. (Windows, Mac, etc)
3. Install the game from the file you just downloaded.
4. Play the game from the icon it puts on your desktop.

I've heard about the control scheme. Figuring it's going to take a while to get used to.
One upshot of playing super shitty-hard games - I'm pretty used to games that don't so much ease me into things as kick me in the crotch, spit in my face and laugh at my pain.

Well I've had that game since before it was released (my brother worked for the company at the time and snagged me an advanced copy) and all these years later I still suck at it. :P

Not a problem. In the name of total honesty, that's 5 of the 31 items I've deemed comparative high priorities for purchase. Can't really narrow it down further than those, so I went with the first 5 on my typed up list.

Hi Gunny!
How's Oz today/tomorrow?

I'm willing to suffer. That much is clear. -laughs-
If I can spend four hours beating a single level of a game, I can keep on getting killed with another trying to beat it.
