moonshineshadow: *big hug* it was ok, my new student is a bit ... how to say this nice ...dependent. I hope this will change in the next few days or it will be a long six months before he finishes his master thesis.

EndreWhiteMane: He probably just wants excuses to be around a lovely Valkyrie. Like me. ;)
*big hug* You are so sweet

CarrionCrow: I can't remember if it was yesterday, but like you said, Moonshine is on top of things.
My brain is switching back on, I am so happy about that :D

nightrunner227: I've played all those horror games. Among the Sleep is pretty neat as far as style goes, but in gameplay it's just a dumbed down Amnesia that lasts 2 hours tops. Very short, very simple, and the ending is very meh.

Amnesia AMFP is exactly as you say. It's not scary at all (except maybe for 1 or 2 moments), and it really tries to bring the horror out through its story rather than through its environments and threat levels. Personally, I loved it, but it plays very much like Dear Esther with some superficial puzzles/chase sequences thrown in.

As for the first Amnesia, it really depends on how well you immerse yourself. Either you'll lose yourself in the dark hallways and feel the dread emanating from the mansion's eerie noises, pitch blackness, and ever-present threats, or you'll just be bored taking advantage of obvious encounter triggers and ai quirks while exploiting the low-risk nature of sanity depletion and wonder why anyone ever thought the game was scary to begin with.

ddickinson: Thank you for the answer. I have not played Amnesia Dark decent yet, but I hear that one is quite good. What I saw of Among the Sleep just looked a bit pointless and silly, and Machine for Pigs did look just like a walking simulator with the bare minimum of gameplay, just the occasional pig man and a few objects to move about.
Hehe, yep. Your perceptions are quite accurate..

genkicolleen: 'Morning, all. Damn I'm tired! =_= I haven't been able to sleep well for the past two days; the time change is kickin' my ass.

... Either that or it's a coincidence, but hey, I'd rather gripe about Daylight Savings time than think that it's me~ XD
Good morning. =)

Maybe it's a combo of preexisting fatigue and one less hour a night to put everything back together before you have to burn through your energy again?

Your brain was still good, even when it felt like it wasn't.

Additional - I am really glad this game isn't very large. It's a little over twice the size of the original, but that still puts it under 700 megs.
Also, it kicks ass to see their Twitter with links to how many different reviewers are loving the game. This might be the last Hotline Miami, but I want it to succeed so they can have the coin to put out new things.

And they're having Judas play it on a stream today. That should be hilarious to watch him get killed 1,800 times. -laughs-

I thought it would be your battle cry. Shouted just before you try to capture a cheerleader. :-)

Hopefully the student just needs to settle in a bit and relax. *return hug*

How are you doing with Driftmoon? As I have not been sleeping to well these last few weeks I have had a little extra time for games and I finished Driftmoon a little while ago. I liked it, especially when compared with Torchlight that I tried shortly afterwards.

Good morning! *morning hug*

Sorry to hear you have not been sleeping too well. I know how you feel being tired, I have not slept properly for a few weeks now. Sadly I can't blame mine on Daylight Savings. :-)

I also finished it. It was really nice and fun :-)
I have not played Torchlight yet, only played the second a bit which was a nice hack and slay for playing it together with someone. Alone it was boring so I never finished it.

I'm more the Wile E Coyote type, lots of planning, few successes. :/

Stop using the Acme products. They never work as advertised.

Not a problem. Better a warning now than you plummeting into the Grand Canyon, with only a tiny poof of dust to signify the impact point later. ;)
This is one of those days that I want to lay down on my bed and coccon myself with my blanket.
Crow, why don't you reserve a post for your blow by blow review of HM2?
Then we can all link to it and see it as it updates, AND you can use it for your game review later.

I can post info here in between levels if people want, impressions and what-not.

Roughly 5 minutes left and it'll be ready for install.

Okay, just did the intro, and it's definitely an interesting setup.

Also, the game gives the option to skip any scenes alluding to sexual violence, which is good so people don't get freaked out.

If I'm remembering right, the Australian censors made this big thing about the opening.

I think that was the reason why it got censored. It's already a weird gray area. What they're saying they saw wasn't there, unless you count a movement difference of pixels at what they're referring to.

But...at the same time, it's pretty godsdamned clear what's in the process of happening, added movement or not.
That part they make very clear.

The music continues to be excellent, just like it was with the first game, and the gameplay is still just as full of that visceral goodness.
In real life, it might be kinda nuts to assault a floor full of guys with guns with a bicycle chain.
But playing this? I just screamed "FORE!!!!!!" like an unhinged golfer as I caved someone's head in.

This game is fun. -laughs-

The difficulty level is also just as brutal as it was in the first game. Expect to die a lot if you try this before at least getting used to the combat, both melee and ranged, in Hotline Miami 1.

These might be classified as tutorial levels if the tutorials come with buildings full of guys with guns.
Bears repeating that in this game, you die in one hit, so gunfights can go sideways fast.

Also, pistols suck compared to shotguns, machine pistols or my personal favorite, the assault rifle.

I can see how Torchlight would be fun with someone else playing alone, but by yourself it's just so repetitive, with very little story or customisations. Quite sad really, considering it was made by some of the staff from Blizzard.

And another one! I may be tired but I'm cheering up nicely.
Between this and our mad Brit gifting me Toonstruck. (Against my wishes I might add) :-)
What's HM2?
