ddickinson: I hope it comes out today as he was looking forward to it. It's not my kind of game, but it does seem quite popular.

Do you mean just now? Or was it one I mentioned a previous day?

That's good to hear. *another hug*
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I believe it was yesterday, I think you said it wasn't very scary and kind of slow.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Eh, I'm okay. Could use some more coffee, but that's about it for the moment. -laughs-

Just got through reading the comics for Hotline Miami 2 in between catching up on the thread. Hadn't gotten around to that yet. Not exactly a long read, but they get the point across.

Also, good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone. =)
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: He's here, and I can feel his anticipation through my cable modem! :-)
Mornin' Crow. :-)
Slice of life from a few minutes ago -

"Waiting....waiting....waiting....it's not here yet, maybe refresh the page....okay, did that, still nothing, damn it....all right, check the competition, they'll probably release the game at the same time for both....okay, it's available there, their little timer thing just ran out, go back to GOG, refresh the page again....loading....loading....goddamn this thing loads slowly, but I'm partly to blame from having so many games for it to load....it's done, scroll down....it's still not there! FUCK!!!"

ddickinson: Hello, Crow!

I don't have any coffee (don't like it), but I am sure someone else here will have some for you.

How are you doing today?

avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I believe it was yesterday, I think you said it wasn't very scary and kind of slow.
avatar
ddickinson: I have no idea. I remember mentioning Torchlight, I think, but I can't recall a horror game. Give me a minute and I will go back and look at yesterdays post and see if I can find it.
Good evening. =)

It's okay, I have plenty here. Still three or four cans of it. -laughs-

Doing all right, just being impatient. I'm sorry you haven't been feeling great today, will continue to keep hoping things will slowly turn the corner for you and start improving again.

Also, you were mentioning that Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs was rather slow and dull.

Thank you. I will be okay, just a but fuzzy headed today, especially the last hour or so. Gifting a few random games has helped cheer me up a little. :-)

Moon to the rescue! *big hug*

So I did mention them, and I seem to be repeating myself today. And I have no real recollection of mentioning them before. Strange in deed.

How has your day been? Was work okay?

Game card says it's here, not on the front page yet. ;)

ddickinson: I only ask as I saw a friend playing it and it did not look that good to me, and I was wondering if it was just me and if it was a good game. I also saw my friend playing Amnesia Machine for Pigs, which didn't really look that scary to me. I guess someday I should play the original Amnesia game and see if it is scary. Thank you for the answer.

Is it today that Hotline Miami 2 comes out? I know Crow was looking forwards to its release.
I've played all those horror games. Among the Sleep is pretty neat as far as style goes, but in gameplay it's just a dumbed down Amnesia that lasts 2 hours tops. Very short, very simple, and the ending is very meh.

Amnesia AMFP is exactly as you say. It's not scary at all (except maybe for 1 or 2 moments), and it really tries to bring the horror out through its story rather than through its environments and threat levels. Personally, I loved it, but it plays very much like Dear Esther with some superficial puzzles/chase sequences thrown in.

As for the first Amnesia, it really depends on how well you immerse yourself. Either you'll lose yourself in the dark hallways and feel the dread emanating from the mansion's eerie noises, pitch blackness, and ever-present threats, or you'll just be bored taking advantage of obvious encounter triggers and ai quirks while exploiting the low-risk nature of sanity depletion and wonder why anyone ever thought the game was scary to begin with.

*big hug* it was ok, my new student is a bit ... how to say this nice ...dependent. I hope this will change in the next few days or it will be a long six months before he finishes his master thesis.

Nice reviews, thanks. ;)
'Morning, all. Damn I'm tired! =_= I haven't been able to sleep well for the past two days; the time change is kickin' my ass.

... Either that or it's a coincidence, but hey, I'd rather gripe about Daylight Savings time than think that it's me~ XD

I can't remember if it was yesterday, but like you said, Moonshine is on top of things.

Thank you for the answer. I have not played Amnesia Dark decent yet, but I hear that one is quite good. What I saw of Among the Sleep just looked a bit pointless and silly, and Machine for Pigs did look just like a walking simulator with the bare minimum of gameplay, just the occasional pig man and a few objects to move about.

Sorry you're so tired, I haven't slept all night either so I feel for you.
I like DST just because now I get up at a 'human hour' of 0600 or so. :)
