That sucks - I'm pretty sure when I saw someone in the other thread post slowest movers this game was up there :(

Good luck - I'm off for a bit but I'll be logged in to ALT-TAB my way over here every now and then...

Thanks for the well wishes ;-)

Its 4:15 AM here; out of curiosity what times do the rest of you have? (notice use of semi-colon)

CarrionCrow: It sounds like you fought quite a battle before finally purchasing the item. =)
I like to keep my "games pipeline" in such a way that I can get to stuff in short order while leaving options open to pick up an impulse here and there. I could never manage a backlog!

Between what I'm playing now, a couple few on deck and my recent high priority purchase *semi-colon* Drox has the potential to "fall off the table" so to speak. So I was a bit hesitant to grab it, despite the thing being something I really wanted and at the perfect price.

On the bright side, I am glad I have it and I'm sure despite my worries I'll be playing it sooner rather than later... I hope.. ;)

Right now, it is 8:19 pm for the dusty chunk of western US I currently inhabit.

Wow...I didn't know people actually managed their games rather than being buried under them.

I was on the fence about Drox Operative, you'll have to let me know what you think of it.

In return, whenever I can get around to it, I'll tell you about Nexus.

My college announced it is closing tomorrow due to snow! no need to sleep.

BTW, I'm watching Peaky Blinders while waiting for the sale. Nick Cave's music should be mandatory in every crime drama.
Its funny what gives pleasure when your head is filled with manure, but the two sliders on the front page have been going more or less neck and neck since they started. If I was a betting man...

Yeah, it's a bad one. I tried to get out in it earlier and turned right and drove home. Slid everywhere and couldn't see anything but pelting snow. Ice and sleet on the road with at least a couple inches of snow on top of it. Everything from north Texas to the east coast is going to be closed tomorrow.

That doesn't surprise me. A person I know who works at a university keeps having their campus shut down due to weather as well.

But like you said, there's an upshot - more chances to get games you want.

I'd put my money on Medal of Honor. Much less FPS saturation on GOG as opposed to puzzle-type games.

Yeah, I'm a vet, and some of my buddies who are still in the Army are saying the local bases are shutting down, which is pretty rare.

I think you may be right....

Now I don't feel so bad calling my boss to take a snow day. I can tell him that even the army guys are staying inside to drink hot cocoa. That should ease the sting a bit... or not help at all and I'll get fired. Either way, it's downright stupid to get out in that storm.

Now that I've said that, I'm totally waiting for Tetrobot to overtake Medal of Honor and make me wrong.

Also - the downloads are almost done. The frigging downloader's been going (and breaking frequently) for over 24 hours, but now it's almost done!

Over here it's a good idea. During the winter, snow doesn't cause accidents...it's the other East Coast drivers! ;P

LOL I'm glad I popped back in! (I had a feeling Medal Of Honor might go quick and was curious what would be next).

I actually solved Nexus! It was a mixed victory. I DID have to restart the game to change the difficulty to Easy (or maybe Normal? Whatever it was, it was below the "Default" which is what I started at). The game became much more enjoyable to play and a ton less frustrating. The downside was that, with it on the easier difficulty I also found a lot of the really deep and nuanced game mechanics to be a bit unneeded.

So I was torn between really drinking in a ton of great features (Fire "Ion Cannon!" Drop their shieds and disable their power so they're helpless while scrambling bombers to take out their weapon systems) but being horribly frustrated.

Or having a more enjoyable game experience, where some of the deeper features and options weren't as needed because I could spam attacks (I still had to be mindful, but it wasn't quite the "Star Trek" dance of careful planning and maneuvers that the harder, but insanely aggravating, higher difficulty demanded).

*edit LOL Holy shit that looks like a lot of spam on the main forum page!

My rules for snow driving:

1) Put Jeep into 4WD

2) Go Slow. No, really, slower.

3) Stay the F-away from the @$$-hole with rear wheel drive passing you on the left like it's 70 degrees and sunny. He WILL be upside down with his wheels still spinning half mile up the road.

It sounds like Nexus is one of those games that really could have benefited from having more difficulty levels than the standard easy-medium-hard, so a player could fine tune their experience that much more.
