Ever played tennis in a graveyard or on a galleon against pirates? Well, soon you will, with Tennis Antics – coming soon on GOG!

Oh, cool. It's an inferior surrogate version of Mario Tennis with none of the visual charm and twice the uncharming stereotyping.

I know actual Mario Tennis isn't realistic, but why Tennis Antics when we could have...squints furtively at Mobygames...Virtua Tennis? Top Spin? Tie Break? Advantage Tennis?

Instead of charging us for a game that was formerly (ad supported) freeware and then sold for 1 Euro by various barrel scrapers?

Tennis Antics was initially released by Pure Entertainment as a freeware game on it's freeloader.com website (with Pure hoping to earn back the development costs with adds). [sic] But after the failure of that business model, a Freeloader Gold subscription is / was required to download the game. Later Tennis Antics was also sold on CD-Rom by various budget publishers, while at the same time it was still available on several sites dedicated to freeware games.

The art style reminds me of things like Action Ball Deluxe, which is a shovelware game. Why is GOG releasing things that look like shovelware?

I have Actua Tennis, and it's just okay. I've been getting into Tennis Elbow lately though, loving the first person perspective. But, for kind of basically the same reasons you mentioned is why I wont buy Lego Star Wars. It's too 'arcadey' for me.
