Twenty years ago, the supervillains won. Since then, they’ve created a dystopian city where developing super powers is a crime; nobody has managed to slow them down, until now. Capes is a turn based superhero strategy game where you build a team of heroes and fight to take back the city – and it’s coming soon on GOG!

Played across a series of campaign and patrol missions, choose to push forward with the story or take the time to explore the side missions and unlock more heroes, earn skill points and complete challenges, and learn more about your heroes lives.

Wishlist it now!

Carradice: Freedom Force indulged in Silver Age themes and nobody pretended that it was 1970, so it is hard to understand that sentence quoted above.

Breja: Well, I find this sentence hard to understand, so I have to assume we're having some miscommunications issues :D
I heartily believe so!

Carradice: Capes boasts a first campaign that explores other tones. A welcome change for this player.

Breja: In what way "first"? Injustice, the Arkham series, even Marvel's Spider-Man were hardly "Comics Code Authority Approved". Unless you mean "for a tactical superhero strategy game", but that's hardly a crowded genre :D
Hum, not sure what you mean by that. I just tried to say that this is the first campaign in the game. If they are successful, they might deliver more campaigns, extensions and whatnot. Even mods might appear.

Breja: Anyway, I feel like this is becoming a mountains out of molehills situation. I don't think the game looks bad, I certainly don't dislike serious tone in superhero stories, I just think it's visualy rather bland, that's all.
Nice to hear! I very much agree with this. As for the looks of the game, let's wait and see what they finally deliver! :)
Well I'm definitely interested in this. Prob not a day 1 purchase (sorry), but will see. Shame the demo isn't available.
Looks interesting, remember me of Freedom Force.
Um, an XCOM-like? With super heroes? Natively on Linux?

Shut up and take my money.
It's great to see the game releasing with native Linux port but the very little I saw about the gamne, it's just X-Com in desguise (for better or for worse).

On one hand, I'm sick tired of generic colorful and vibrant cartoony games, on the other, well, the said colorful cartooney style tend to fit the Superhero theme in my mind.
