It is good to see Take2 Interactive games appear on GoG. Does this mean the Civilization series is coming to GoG? I hope so! Do we have any news on this?

No news. Just everybody playing the waiting game.

Until then we have Call to Power 2 which with the Apolyton mod is pretty good imho.

Now THAT is a game I'd love to have. Played it a ton back on my Apple ][... but never finished it. Came up just short. I think a family switch to an IBM killed my time with it.

I bet it's aged pretty badly, though.

It was a pretty badass RPG back then. Bard's Tale in space with a really neat hex-based combat system.
